I still experience long-lasting psychological effects from having a childhood friend that took offense at everything I did.

My doctor calls it Irritable Pal Syndrome.

Maria's taste in music

I have a childhood friend called Maria. Lately she found her spiritual side and because of this all of her preferences changed. What kind of music do you think she listen to now? MariaCHI

Fallen Rock

Talking with a friend yesterday and dropped this one from his childhood:

When he was six years old, he was riding in the car with his parents when he saw a "Fallen Rock" sign on the side of the road. He asked his dad what it meant, to which his dad replied, "when the white man came through here and kicked out the Indians, there was one that they couldn't catch, Fallen Rock who ran off and hid in the woods. He has been angry at the white man ever since hunts them down. The sign lets people know Fallen Rock has been seen in the area and to watch out for him."

He believed it for years and would always look for Fallen Rock when they saw one of the signs.

Edit: spelling

College Majors

I was having a discussion with my parents about all of the different subjects you can major in at my university. I brought up that one my childhood friends was majoring in Criminology. My mom mentioned that Criminology majors don't make a lot of money out of college. My dad started to chuckle. We all looked at him knowing what was about to happen.
"I guess it's true than." "What?" "Crime doesn't pay." He then proceeded to laugh to himself throughout the rest of dinner.

High school reunions are not immune to dad jokes.

So one of my childhood friends made a Facebook status about hanging out with her parents. I don't think she even realizes how much of a gem her dad is.

Mom: "So another person in my graduating class died..."

Me: "Oh no..."

Mom: "Yeah so I guess it's all starting for me."

Me: "Oh my gosh haha stop."

Mom: "But, you know, a lot of people were dead at my 25th reunion."

Dad: "Wow... it must've smelled..."

Me: lololololol

Mom: ".... Wait, what?"

The most unhelpful advice my Dad could give me as a child.

This would happen way too many times during my childhood and I never learnt... maybe because I couldn't actually find another way to express it.. anyway:

My eye would be sore and hurting really bad

Dad: What's the matter? Me: I've got something in my eye. Dad: Yeah, your eyeball.

-seriously unhelpful while I can't even see properly...thanks Dad-

I have however used it to friends as I got older... they also found it to be rather unhelpful and annoying lol.

True Dad jokes are only funny if you're on the outside of the problem haha.
