A list of puns related to "Calamondin"
I have been searching for a calamondin (aka calamansi) tree/shrub. Anyone know where I can find one in Houston? Lots of online nurseries wonโt ship citrus to Texas.
I have a Calamondin bonsai (small, tart organge tree) I'm in NY, so it stays indoors most of the year
Lately the green leaves have been drying up and falling off. But they stay green?
I don't think it's from water trouble
My house is around 65 right now; do we think it's too cold? Maybe it has a disease?
TIA
Hello, I purchased a calamondin/calamansi plant a few weeks back and it arrived with green fruit. I put her down in a well lit and warm area of the house with plenty of ventilation and plopped a grow light just in case. I water her whenever the soil feels dry a few inches down. This is usually once in ten days or so.
The fruit started ripening and i noticed green brown blotches on them becoming more pronounced as the rest of the fruit became yellow/orange. The spots are squishy to touch and look rotten. I thought maybe they were being left on the tree for too long but even unripe fruit have these blotches. In addition, some of the leaves have yellow spots. Is this some kind of fungal infection/ mite issue?
I have neem oil on hand and can do a foliar spray or soil drench. Please advise if I should get a copper fungicide or if the issue might be something else.
Hi folks,
I just harvested a (very) small amount of calamondins - marker for scale in pic My tiny harvest
I was thinking about preserving them ala preserved lemon style.
Has anyone else done this before? How did they turn out? Any other ideas on what I should do with them?
I've been raising potted citrus plants for a couple years now. They live indoors under +-380w of LED grow lights when it's cold and go outside during the late spring. My Calamondin was happy all winter, but became very sad when moved outside this spring (they should be hardy to -6 but don't go outside until it's 14c at night). I make sure to acclimatize all my citrus before they spend any substantial time outside.
All of my other trees experienced substantial growth spurts this season, except the calamondin. She looks very sad. Everybody else set fruit and grew new limbs. My calamondin produced a lot of fruit last year, and was extremely happy. I'm just not sure what I could be doing wrong.
I'm still an inexperienced plant parent and am hoping someone more experienced can help me nurse my tree back to health.
Thanks!

I live in a zone 7a and the pot sits right next to a south facing window that gets several hours of full sun.
I bought this in the spring and it flowered much to my surprise, it was the only one left and it didn't look so great when I bought it. All the seed pods (don't know the correct term, but the buds after the flowers) fell off after.
I did realize a few months after buying it that it was planted about an inch too deep. I repositioned it in the pot to a proper depth.
It's been making new leaves, but the leaves turn weird after with a weird texture and yellow static to them. (See album.) Now I have new leaves that are drooping.
What's going on?
I'm not new to plants, but I am new to citrus and more finicky plants. I've also never paid attention to soil since all the plants I've had were fine in store bought soil. I now have access to a wonderful nursery that sells bulk soil parts, so I can amend the soil that the calamondin is in, but I don't know what it would prefer.
Should I repot with new soil? If so, what should the mixture comprise of?
The nursery did not have a specific indoor citrus fertilizer, but it did have outside citrus pellet fertilizer. Should I use this or something else?
I'm quite fond of this plant and don't like to see it struggling.

Edit: Can any citrus pollinate others? For example, can a grapefruit and the calamondin pollinate?
Hey yall!
Do you know of any stores that have calamondin trees in stock? I know there is a citrus shortage right now, but I figured I would ask and see if anyone knows anywhere local that has them.
Checked Hester and Zipperer, home depots, lowes, Hrtb Creek and nada.
Thanks yall!
