Bracknell Puns

Hi all, was hoping for some insight into what it’s like living in Bracknell, have seen some older posts but thought it would be good to get some up to date insight.

Myself and my girlfriend are looking at moving to Bracknell due to work commitments we’re moving from Scotland. We will likely both be working from home for a portion of the week and I will be travelling to Slough for work some days too. I’m wondering what people’s thoughts are on the area and how it compares to other towns which are commutable to Slough (I plan on driving to work). We’ve had a look at flats and for 1/2 bed properties, Bracknell seems reasonable compared to a lot of other areas.

We generally keep to ourselves but enjoy going out to restaurants and occasionally bars, we like getting out for walks but admittedly do spend a lot of the time at home working.

Thanks for any help/insight you can provide on what you think of the area compared to others.

And come to think of it, so was Johnny. I was just rereading it, and Christopher Walken and Brooke Adams are nowhere on my radar. Not only do the physical descriptions totally not match, but I felt zero chemistry. Anyone else agree? I’d love to see Deadzone get the “The Outsider” treatment.

I have looked at the many documents on the council's site but I don't see any specific plans or how they would affect me. It's all general environmental and town character stuff. Nothing exact on housing, infrastructure, or jobs other than occasional mention of the town centre/Lexicon development. For a study and proposal that is almost 10 years in the making there has been very little relevant information provided and now I'm supposed to vote. If you're voting No what are the reasons?

Due to a new job, and changes in my current living circumstances, I was looking to move to Bracknell.

As a single professional, flat prices are quite attractive compared to say, Reading for example.

Wanted to ask for some insight on what’s like? How are the people? Would be looking to make friends and enjoy a social life

My parents are looking to move to Bracknell around the Ringmead/Jennet’s Park/Easthampstead area.

I’ve been looking at crime stats, but haven’t found anything (which looks trustworthy) specific to that area, and the crime stats for Bracknell itself look a bit iffy.

Does anyone have any experience with that area? Is it alright? Just looking for some anecdotal opinions :)
