Bombsight altimeter not matching pilot altimeter.

My friend and I were flying He-111 H6's yesterday, and noticed what is possibly a bug. The altimeter from the pilots view is about .2 km higher than the one in the bombsight. The instance we noticed was the pilots altimeter was at 2.1km and the bomb sight was at about 1.9km on both of our planes. Is that a bug or is that how it's supposed to be? And if it's how it's supposed to be, should you set your altitude for bombing based on the pilots altimeter or the bomb sight's?

The Norden bombsight, invented in 1939 and used by the US in WWII, the Korean and the Vietnam Wars. Nicknamed 'the football', it allowed for variables such as altitude, wind speed and airspeed. Legend is that it enabled a bombardier to drop a bomb into a pickle barrel from 6 miles up. [1373 x 918].

Norden Bombsight worth keeping?

Hi all,

I just got my recruit to the medieval age and received the Norden Bombsight. I was wondering if I should keep it and develop it or sell for supplies.

Stats:

APC deploys Marines on death, base 1

Coalition troop damage, base 8%

Defender spawn time, base -8%

Invading Fighter Damage, base -8%

Machine Gun Infantry Damage, base +8%

I don't use APCs or Machine Guns, but I don't have any war legendaries so this wouldn't be taking up a slot that would be used for anything else. My war museum is geared offensive atm (-AEDTHP), and this one seems more defensive. idk tell me what you think.

Norden bombsight reference in the book - Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand - amazing book!

The first time I heard about the Norden bombsight was in the book Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand. It's an amazing story about the life of Louis Zamperini an Olympic runner who served at a bombardier in the pacific during WWII. I recommend the audio book narrated by Edward Herrmann. From what I could tell from the book the bomb sight actually took over the controls of the plane during the bombing run, so the pilot and crew would need to wait until the run was complete before taking control of the plane again. All that aside, I can't say enough about this story, Louis Zamperini lived a truly amazing life and gave so much to his country. I had never heard of him or his story before this book but now I am very grateful for him and everything he did. I hope others are as inspired by this book as I was.

Matt/Destin, NDQ is a great podcast, I've enjoyed many of the stories and conversations. Thank you for your hard work.

How did other nation's bombsights compare to the American Norden bombsight?

A quick search on Google quickly yields pages of results dedicated to the top secret Norden Bombsight with it's marketed ability to "drop bombs in the pickle barrel" but how did other nation's bombsights compare?

I know the Germans had this one called the Lotfe and this is the one I'd primarily like to know about. Of course any info on British or Japanese equivalents would be just as awesome.

Thanks

Bombsight?

So I’ve figured out how to designate GBUs to a lased target, but I can’t find a way to enter bombsight. On the Wipeout, the instrument panel gets in the way of the circle telling you where the bomb will hit and to get the circle in the right place you have to do this really jank up-and-down maneuver. If there isn’t a built-in feature for it, is there a mod that I could use?

Something I noticed a couple matches ago, but haven't seen anyone mention. When using bombs in an aircraft, you can now see where your bombs will land while in 3rd person view. They appear as circular reticles on the ground. This is something I can see being incredibly useful as a pilot.

WEAPON CLASS - Wand

MATERIALS - Magicite and Evermetal (bc of Mihos)

RUNES - Third Eye, Erupt, Metamorphosis

SMITH - Mihos: the Utilitarian

Sidearm - Evermetal Melee Knife (Free Resonance Pool)

FINAL STATS

Magicite Wand (Resonance Pool used, Aether can now be used)

Sharpness - (3 - 1) = 2/5

Mass - 2/5

P. Def - 2/5

B. Def - (1 - 1) = 0/5

M. Def - 4/5

Evermetal Melee Knife (Weapon only)

Sharpness - 4/5

Mass - 2/5

Alright, just tell me if this is too much of a stretch.

I'm going to use Metamorphosis on my Wand to turn it into a contact lens.

The description of Metamorphosis said I can change its shape and turn it to mundane items but it never said it couldn't use its other abilities while in another form, so this works.

Basically, I'll be able to see all around me, sense incoming danger, and make it explode just by looking at it. All of this with no damage to me.

I can also fire different orbs of magic from my eye without injuring myself. I wanted to have two wands so I can use both eyes and add a cool factor, but I scrapped the idea. Sad.

Also, I wanna add that the description for the wand said that to use a rune, a flick of the wrist is all I need. In this case, I'm using eye movement. Just an fyi.

Imagine fighting someone who can make you explode as long as he sees you. And if you get too close, he could just use Third Eye to see in 3rd person and use Erupt on himself. Injuring you, but never him.

Oh and I also have a knife just in case I wanna keep my exploding sight a surprise. So,

Surprise!!

Tell me what you think about this build :)

Corrections, if any, are also welcome.
