A list of puns related to "Bluenose"
Just picked this up today at my local NSLC and I cant find anything about the company or the strain it might be. Just wondering if anyone's tried it and what you thought or any other info would be great!
Not sure if that's a popular spot for spectators or not... I have plans to go tomorrow early afternoon but may go somewhere else if it's going to be super busy and/or loud...
For those who are reading this but are not Canadian, Canadian coins have the following:
The general theme of these coins is nature (animals mostly). However, the Bluenose sticks out as an exception. How did this ship end up on a coin? I know that the Bluenose was popular at the time, but was it really that popular for it to immortalized on our money? Was the original intention for it to be a temporary special coin, but people just stuck with it? There are other non-nature symbols of Canadian history and culture, so how did a fishing ship from Lunenburg Nova Scotia (one of the lesser populated parts of the country) rise above all else?
I ask because it feels like we as Canadians are mostly familiar with the Bluenose because of the coin (and because of the Heritage Moment commerical. It seems like it is the coin the keeps the Bluenose popular, but how did it end up on the coin in the first place.

### Background
Longtime listener, first time caller.
I (40M) have never been much of an athlete. Mostly hated running until a group of friends started doing a relay race a few years back and needed a warm body to participate. Then I ran just enough to not sink the team each year we took part. Then I ran some more and started wondering how fast I could go, but wasn't really serious about it. Then I got divorced and started running for mental health. Then I started to like running. Then I ran fast everywhere and got injured repeatedly.
Then I did a 50km trail race. Then Covid hit. Then I discovered 80/20 and AdvancedRunning and got myself a new watch with a fancy set of adaptive training plans (Garmin 245).
In 2020 I set a new (i.e. my first real) HM PB of 1h33 using a Garmin Coach plan (Amy Parkerson-Mitchell). The plan was really enjoyable in that it set out what seemed like very small, step-by-step goals, but ramped up over the weeks to some pretty intense workouts. Peak distance was a 59km week, but also lots of 30-40km weeks in there as well.
PBs in 5k (19:16) and 10k (41:55) followed in solo time trials in Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 as I kept up the same pattern of 4x week, 30-40km distance ish. Never in my life had I thought I could run this fast. I was constantly surprised, and enjoying it. Why not keep going?
### Training
New year, new goal - be faster than last year, get a HM PB on a harder course (hills, many hills) and hope the race doesn't get cancelled. I followed the McMillan 18 week Half Marathon plan from Garmin, with a target time of 1h32 (the fastest time you can enter for the Garmin Coach plans). This ended up running 4x a week (sometimes added a bike ride in the summer), the peak weekly distance was around 54k
