A list of puns related to "Beverage Alcohol"
Letβs say you were stranded on a tiny barren island without any food or water sources. The only thing you can find is a pirateβs enormous hidden stash of rum. The rum would definitely provide enough calories for you to live of it quite some time. But Iβm sure the alcohol would dehydrate you more than the water it contains could make up for and youβd die of thirst after a few days.
But now lets say the stash contains wine instead of rum. Or even better, beer. Would wine contain enough water to offset the dehydration from the alcohol? Would beer?
And if so, how long would you be able to survive off wine/beer alone, before dying from malnutrition?
What are your go tos?
Any advice of what to do from here or what to expect?
Okay so Iβm assuming itβs a given that hard liquor (~40% ABV) would have a net negative effect on oneβs hydration. But surely an alcoholic beverage with like, 3.5% ABV would still have a net positive effect on hydration, right? Or am I wrong?
Wine usually has around a 12-15% ABV. I could see that going either way.
Does anyone know of any reliable evidence that points towards a specific ABV percentage threshold? I actually donβt drink but Iβve been curious about this for a while, and there seems to be a lot of misinformation surrounding what beverages are hydrating vs. dehydrating. For example, I keep seeing people say that coffee is dehydrating, and although caffeine has a mild diuretic effect, I just canβt see that being true.
Thank you for your time.
For example how do they know/measure that a beer contains 4.5% alcohol?
Update: just want to thank you ALL, once again, for your ideas and enthusiasm! Love this community. Cheers!

So alcohols (beverage) can disinfect wounds like in neo scavenger where u can use whiskey as a disinfectant for wounds this would be a cool feature (first i dunno if this was already added because my pc brokedown but i feel u cant use alcohols as disinfectants)
Do you refrain entirely? Or if you drink, what do you typically drink and how quantity?
I live in Utah so liquor is harder to come by than perhaps elsewhere, but Iβm pretty sure I could track down just about anything.
We have a Christmas party coming up and to match the theming of the Nutcracker, I wanted to make a drink that uses the sparkling sugarplum beverage from Trader Joeβs as a base. Itβs just a 50/50 blend of sparkling white grape and plum juice, Iβm pretty sure.
Generally I like sweeter drinks- mead is my favorite form of alcohol at the moment.
Open to most anything (except egg white foam, Iβm allergic to eggs). Goal is to have it taste good, look pretty, and trick people into thinking I know a thing or two about alcohol. Also, not looking for it to be too strong, as everyone needs to drive home at the end of the night and our legal limit is 0.05 BAC.
So⦠what would you put in that drink to make it a cocktail?
Does anyone know where I might find in or around Oakland the new canned Amalfi Spritz by Lyreβs, a company based in Australia? I no longer consume alcohol due to medical issue and still looking for fun beverage alternatives.
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 61%. (I'm a bot)

For anyone based in Edmonton, the selection of alcohol-free beverages at the Sherbrooke Liquor on 50th street is OUTSTANDING.
On October 2, 2019, Deputy Todd Mohney, a member of the Orange County Sheriff's Office (OCSO) Sector 2 Tactical Anti-Crime (TAC) Unit, reported to his chain of command he suspected Corporal Sean Waesco who was at that time the Sector 2 TAC Unit corporal, of being under the influence of alcohol while on-duty. The Sector 2 commander notified the Professional Standards Section, and Sergeant Robert Santti and Lieutenant Virginia Ricks' responded. During preliminary interviews with Sector 2 personnel who had close contact with Corporal Waesco, several reported it smelled as if he had been consuming an alcoholic beverage.
Because there was a reasonable belief Corporal Waesco had been consuming alcohol, Sergeant Santti and Lieutenant Ricks transported Corporal Waesco to the OCSO Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Center, where he was compelled to submit to an administrative breath test. After providing two samples, the results of both of Corporal Waesco's breath test revealed he had a breath alcohol concentration of .041%.
Due to the results of Corporal Waesco's administrative breath test, Sergeant Santti and Lieutenant Ricks conducted an administrative search of his agency vehicle. During the search, they found a water bottle in the front-passenger door panel and a metal bottle in the rear storage area. Both bottles contained alcoholic beverages.
On January 9, 2020, Corporal Waesco provided testimony regarding the allegations made against him. Though he admitted the bottle that contained alcohol was his, he stated he did not know how it ended up in his patrol vehicle. He speculated he might have accidentally brought it into his vehicle, since he had several similar bottles.
Corporal Waesco emphatically stated he did not consume alcohol while on-duty. He claimed he last consumed alcohol at approximately 0200 hours that day, before going to bed. He stated he had three or four vodka-based drinks, in a large tumbler. Corporal Waesco denied feeling the effects of alcohol prior to his shift and stated he would never have come to work if he had. He expressed he was eager to provide a breath sample on October 2, 2019, and felt confident his breath test would reveal he had no alcohol in his system.
On January 9, 2020, Corporal Waesco submitted a Request to Initiate Discipline Dispute Resolution Process (DDRP) to the Labor Relations Manager, Captain Reginald Hosey.
On January 27, 2020, Corporal Waesco signed an "Agreement Pursuant to Discipline Dispute Resolution Pro
... keep reading on reddit β‘Iβm wondering if the minimum for our wedding vendor for food, beverage (including alcohol) and dessert is a normal rate or higher than average? We can only have 70 people (venue restrictions) and we are getting married on a Friday in October 2022. The minimum is $6500 (not including tax or linens/plates/cutlery). Weβve made peace with it but Iβm just curious what others are spending. It is definitely our biggest wedding expense.
