If the first issue it says Ben Reilly learned he was the βrealβ Spider-Man..
So does that mean Ben Reilly is the Spider-Man we are reading about during the entire silver age run up until he encounters the jackal?
This whole is confusing and I would just like some clarification
Thanks
Why?
So I read the first issue of "Ben Reilly: Spider-man" and I have some thoughts I wanted to share.
Years ago when I was in elementary school and just getting into Spider-man comics I went on a trip to the beach with my dad. We stayed at my grand mother's house and one day my dad went out for a run while I stayed at the house. When he came back he revealed he had run past a house that was having a garage sale, and that it looked like they were selling comics. When we returned to the sale he bought a bunch of Spider-man comics for me that I picked out based on the cover art. Almost all of those comics were from JM DeMatteis's run on Spectacular Spider-man, although I didn't know that at the time. When I read them it was an interesting experience. I found them a little creepy in places (the pages in one issue that were just nothing but repeated images of Harry Osborn smiling in a straight jacket are still burned into my mind), but the stories really captivated me in a way that no other comic had. It was a darker take on Spider-man than I was used to, but seeing a more mature Peter Parker and a more angry Peter Parker was fascinating to me. I think I liked it because since Peter was older in those issues that I was used to, I was kind of getting a window into adult hood and the adult psyche. Unfortunately I no longer have those comics because they were not in great shape and I didn't know how to take preserve them a kid. However, years passed and I would remember them fondly and later revisit them digitally. As I have gotten older I have grown to appreciate how good they really are and I consider them to be some of my favorite Spider-man stories.
Now, here is where I have something to confess. I haven't read new Spider-man comics about Peter Parker set in the PRIME Marvel universe since about 2008. I have read Ultimate Spider-man multiple times, a few issues of the Chris Yost Scarlet Spider series, and some of the comics staring Miles. But I haven't read any new books staring 616 Peter Parker in ages. You see, I hated 'One More Day' when I read it as a kid but I was kind of old enough to understand publicity stunts in the comics industry like "Death of Superman." When OMD happened I assumed it was just a big shocking status quo change that would eventually be undone and I decided I would resume reading Spider-man new books when that finally happened. Almost 20 years later and I'm still kind of just sitting around waiting for it to happen. I don't say this to

Hi! The title is pretty much explicit. I am pretty much new to the Spiderman comics, and I have to say that Kaine and Ben Reilly are intriguing characters to me. So, I would like to ask, what can I read for a good story with Ben Reilly and Kaine?
Thank you for the answers!
