A list of puns related to "Ayla"
We are really loving Ayla (EYE-la) but are worried that we are setting her up to have to correct her name throughout her life. This name is rising in popularity so maybe that wouldn't be the case but there seems to be a lot of debate in the eye-la/a-la pronunciation. Curious of peoples thoughts.
We were thinking a P middle name and right now leaning towards Ayla Piper
Other Ideas:
Ayla Pearl
Ayla Paige
Ayla Penelope
Thoughts? We are based in the East Coast USA if that makes any different in pronunciation
Edit: Thanks for all the feedback. We are still considering Ayla but have expanded our search based on peoples comments. For more context, We need to use an A name to honor my Husbands father so Isla is not on the table for us. As a jewish couple we wanted to find a name that would honor our culture with the eye-la pronunciation even though a-la is the more popular/main american pronunciation
I'll be picking everyone up in my green 70s Volvo (the one with the wood paneling) so just hop in if you want to come for the ride! We might say a few punny euologies and have some funeral food, but it's going to be fun! But also serious so please use your serious laugh if you plan on laughing throughout the services. The first on the list of funerals is Gregory Adams, snake oil tycoon and used NFT salesman so don't feel bad loading up on the baked ziti and deviled eggs, this man was a real slime ball. Afterwards we're headed to Linda Box, originator of the styrofoam box and cup. Ugly sympathy boxes filled with concessions are optional.
Itβs an indication that progress is ramping up in the case of Ayla a decade after her disappearance, which is giving her mother, Trista Reynolds, renewed hope.
βIβm actually hoping that this is the year my Christmas wish will come true,β Reynolds said this week.
Ten years ago this month, the 20-month-old blonde-haired, blue-eyed Ayla was in the care of her father, Justin DiPietro, at his motherβs house on Violette Avenue in Waterville. He called police to report her missing on the morning of Dec. 17, 2011, launching the largest and costliest police investigation in Maine history.
Ayla has never been found and no one has been charged in the case. A judge in 2017 declared her dead, paving the way for Trista Reynolds to file a wrongful death lawsuit against DiPietro in December 2018 that contends he should be held accountable for Aylaβs death.
After delays in the case last year because of the coronavirus pandemic and other issues, Trista Reynoldsβ lawyer, William H. Childs, this year received documents he was seeking from the state Attorney Generalβs Office, including evidence and documents from the Maine State Police investigation. https://www.centralmaine.com/2021/12/12/a-decade-in-the-case-of-missing-waterville-child-ayla-reynolds-ramps-up/
Background: The biggest criminal investigation in state history began with a 911 call in which a father said his 20-month-old daughter was last seen about 10 hours before, gave a brief description of the green pajamas she was wearing and said βthereβs no wayβ she could have crawled out of her crib.
In transcripts obtained Monday first by the Associated Press and then by the Morning Sentinel through the Freedom of Access Act, Justin DiPietro told the emergency dispatcher that he put his daughter Ayla Reynolds to bed at 8 p.m. Dec. 16, 2011, and that his sister checked on her two hours later, at about 10 p.m.
He dialed 911 the next day at 8:49 a.m. During the call, DiPietro is asked when he last saw Ayla.
βWhen I put her to bed last night. My sister checked on her. Um, woke up this morning, went to her room and sheβs not there,β he says. At one point, the phone call ends and DiPietro calls back, explaining βmy cellphone died.β Asked by a dispatcher about the exact time someone last saw Ayla in her crib, DiPietro asks his sister, Elisha.
Um, Elisha, when was the last, when is last time you went in her room last night when you saw her?β DiPietro asks. She responds 10 p.m. and he repeats the time to the dispatcher.
... keep reading on reddit β‘I guess I should confess that the whole "gingers are from another planet" theory was something that I initially began as a joke to freak all the actual conspiracy theorists out. See, my boyfriend, Seamus, happens to be a ginger who loves flying, wants to be an astronaut someday, and is obsessed with space, all of which you heard me say at the meeting. I brought our son, Sawyer, too, as "proof" of a half-alien, and had him recite his knowledge of space to convince everybody that he had inherited some "extraterrestrial wisdom" of the cosmos when in reality he's just a really smart kid for his age.
I was really trying to play up the whole "I think my baby daddy's from outer space" act, you know? Becuase even though a fair number of you (especially Blue, Ayla, and David) were trying to persuade me to think that this could be real evidence of them being aliens, that theory is absolutely ridiculous, right?
Well this probably makes me sound insane, but now I'm starting to have some doubts π₯ That little bit that Sawyer did at the end, where he looked up at the stars and started babbling in that language that absolutely NO ONE could recognize? They way he shot up from his seat and shouted "Q'APLAH!!"? Yeah, that wasn't something I told him to do.
I brushed it off, thinking that maybe this occurrence was only freaking us out because of the haunting atmosphere of the forest at night, but then when I went home, I think I might've had another close encounter of the third kind. I had forgotten to tell Seamus I was on my way, so he wasn't expecting me. When I approached the front porch, I could see his silhouette through the curtains talking on the phone, and I could hear through the open window him speaking the EXACT SAME language as whatever Sawyer had just said at the meeting! I busted through the door and asked him what that was all about, but now he's gaslighting me! Maybe I am just going insane, but come on, isn't that a little suspicious to you guys?

Do you have to use Alya as the temporary ice tank? No, almost any other tank will do.
Is she the most optimal though? Probably.
Our main goal with the substitute tank is to apply the elemental memoryβs debuff via QTE. The probability of applying any elemental memoryβs elemental resistance down is 30% per hit. We can model the probability of applying this effect at least once with the following formula:
>1 - 0.7^(n)
Where n is equal to the number of hits
Here's a chart showing the probabilities. Note how diminishing returns start to really come into effect at around 7 hits.
Number of Hits | % Chance |
---|---|
1 | 30.00% |
2 | 51.00% |
3 | 65.70% |
4 | 75.99% |
5 | 83.19% |
6 | 88.24% |
7 | 91.76% |
8 | 94.24% |
9 | 95.96% |
10 | 97.18% |
11 | 98.02% |
12 | 98.62% |
S-Kamui, with a 8-hit QTE, would have a 94% chance of applying it. A-Kamui, with a 2-hit QTE would only have a 51% chance. B-Nanami with 11 hits would have a 98% chance.
Aylaβs QTE has a lot of hits, around 12 (theyβre difficult to count due to her effects being so bright). This gives her a 98.6% chance of proccing the memory effect. You can be assured with Ayla that you will apply the debuff. You have a higher chance of pulling a S-rank from the 80-100 banner than not applying it.
High hit counts not only help to apply the memoryβs elemental debuff, it also helps to apply the secondary effect of the memory. In the case of Zu, it reads: each hit on a debuffed enemy has a 20% chance to deal 420% ice damage and freeze enemies. Missing out on the 420% damage might not be too big a deal for those people who didnβt invest into their tank (420% of zero is still zero after all), but missing out on the freeze effect can be a deal breaker, since it is essentially a stun.
Other factors that can affect our choice of tank include duration of QTE and when the hits are applied in said QTE. However, the effect these factors have are relatively minor in comparison to our primary goal of applying the debuff.
Conclusion:
Ayla has a myriad of things going for her. Her QTE is long, with a high amount of hit counts. She also isnβt really tied to an existing team, making her a good fit for the ice team. These reasons are why Ayla is usually the recommended tank for Plume by veterans and content creators.
However, if you donβt have Ayla, or donβt want to invest in her, many of the other tanks in the game will work just fine. B-Nanami would probably be the next best thing that everyone has. I would stro

Without spoilers, do the books ever delve into Ayla's blood family, which people she came from?
