My garage recently got broken into and I lost $1700 on an electric bike that I pretty desperately need for transportation. It's a red electric biria, doubt this post will actually result in anything but I figured making it couldn't hurt. I'm almost certain it's very much still in the area, even the neighborhood.
There’s the hustle and bustle of locals filling the local town hall, many of whom know Kate personally and others who simply want to see what all the fuss is about. Against the back wall, in front of a makeshift ‘stage’ positioned before rows of chairs pulled from all around the building, there is a poster with Kate’s face on it, in A2 size, to give everybody an idea of what’s going on. After a moment of chatter, a side door opens and in strides CaptainKate2258, dressed in the very same purple suit as the poster against the wall. She takes up a microphone, hooked into an amplifier repurposed from her musical days, and begins her speech
“Kia ora koutou katoa, e te whanau, nau mai haere mai! Ko CaptainKate2258 ahau, tihei mauri ora!
Hello everybody, welcome and thank you all for coming! My name’s CaptainKate2258, as some of you may well know, and this right here is the very first speaking event I’m doing in my tour of the electorate for this February 2021 General Election! I tried my hand last time, and we came pretty close, but alas no cigar. This time though, with a party backing me that’s ready and raring to bring progressive policy that will solve the real problems facing the UK without the baggage and inaction of the Labour Party, I’m feeling good about our chances.
Now some of you may remember, and some may not, that a few months ago the Solidarity Party was just a blip, a new party on the scenes with less than a few hundred members nationally. In that time I was still trying, although unsuccessfully, to push a local, progressive, and environmentalist vision in the Labour Party, but I turned my eye to this new movement with curiosity. At the time, nobody could have predicted that near the next election, tiny little Solidarity would be neck and neck with Labour in the polls. Nobody could predict some of the most beloved faces in progressive politics would have joined and added their voices to this democratic movement. But here we are, and Solidarity is delivering for you.
But you don’t want to hear me prattling on and on about us, you want to know what I can do for you, right?”
There’s a resounding “Yes”, although mixed with a bit of laughter
