Hi all!
Last week we talked about the basics of the Unity Rework. This week we have multiple features and announcements to discuss.
Ready?
Planetary Ascension Tiers
Tied to unlocking Ascension Perks, Planetary Ascension Tiers are a way of improving your core worlds by expending Unity. In normal empires they represent the active will of the people supporting your government and giving a little extra to do things the way theyβve always been done. In machine and hive empires, itβs more the well oiled machinery of the world gaining efficiency or drone instincts becoming better honed with endless practice.
In either case, an Ascended planet does whatever it focuses on better.
Once youβve unlocked three Ascension Perks (you do not need to actually spend them for this feature), you can Ascend each of your planets to Ascension Tier 1. This increases all of the effects of the planetβs Designation by 25% - whether it be Technician Output from a Generator World or Trade Value on a Commercial Ring World.

Each additional Ascension Perk you unlock increases the maximum Ascension Tier by 1, with an extra 4 tiers unlocked once you unlock all of the Perk slots. This lets you Ascend planets up to ten times, for a maximum bonus of 250% of the base Planetary Designation effects.
A fully Ascended, Tier 10 Fortress World. Vi Valam will break before its defenders.
Ascending a Planet costs Unity, and this cost is heavily affected by both Sprawl and the total number of Ascension Tiers you have across your entire Empire. Currently it costs the same amount of Unity to raise your first planet to Ascension Tier 2 as it would to raise two planets to Ascension Tier 1, so youβll want to pick and choose which

most 4* ascension stat is atk%.
personally i think jean would be benefited if her ascension stat was atk% rather than healing bonus. her healing already scales off atk and her base atk is pretty low so i think itβd help out.
All those who havenβt pre-farmed such ascension materials will certainly appreciate the timing.
Gather 'round again fellow retards and autists. SIR JACK A LOT is back with a sequel to last yearβs Magnum Dong Opus on turning $35K to $1.75M (50X) in 2020 by going all-in on a single stock all-shares.
In this post I share my journey from $1.75M to $8M in 2021 and announce my official retirement from trading. Read on for receipts and an epic tale of blue balls to hard-on erection and a climactic finale.
My secret? Post-nut clarity.

Total cumulative gains/loss from each stock. Hello my 1 GME share!
Letβs set the stage. Remember December 2020 yaβll?
I sold 88,233 shares GME at $15.50 for some random dog toy in a box company. There were no apes yet, just Ryan Cohen buying more shares with hopes of a company turnaround. There were record COVID cases, vaccines were just approved, and there was even a British virus mutation on the way that turned out to be Delta!
History was made in January 2021. Ryan Cohen joins the board on Jan 11. GME shoots +12% to $20 and then another +57% to $31. The media picks up the story and Elon Musk tweets βGamestonkβ and to the moon we go! Another +51% to $65. Then +92% to $150. And a deep fuck
... keep reading on reddit β‘The impact of the change would be to reduce the amount of punishment that RNG can impose on ironmen who get unlucky at Legiones. The current system forces some ironman players to kill hundreds of thousands of Ascension creatures even when they need only a single signet. Allowing transmutation of keystones would permit players to sacrifice kills at one Legione in exchange for kills at another. Given the importance of ascension crossbows to account progression in the current game, they should not be so dependent on a luck factor that determines whether you spend 30 or 300 hours AFKing in your POD.
There is very little reason not to make this change. If the transmutation cost is high enough (say, 3 keystones of one type to 1 keystone of another type, plus some cash) then current prices in mainscape will be unaffected. The only colorable argument against this change is that it devalues IFB/Golden Reaper on an ironman. But the suffering that some have endured does not justify continued suffering for those who come later. The change might encourage otherwise hesitant ironmen to pursue IFB, would prevent burnout during a currently grueling grind, and would equalize the playing field among ironmen with varying luck at Legiones.
First and foremost, I am just gonna be straightforward and say I enjoyed this a lot less than The Final Empire. The well of Ascension had around 150 more pages, but it felt like a lot less was happening, especially in the mid section, which felt like a political drag. People warned me for this when I posted my review of The Final Empire.
Let's start of with the story. After The Final Empire I was excited about the Deepness, the Lord Ruler's quote at the end and the greater, mystical story. And this was just missing a whole lot in my opinion. It started off interesting with the mists coming in the days and killing people, Marshe, the Conventical and the whereabouts of the Inquisitors, but then it left almost entirely. Nuggets of info and hints along the way were not really enough there imo.
The middle part was dragging soooo long about armies stationed that would sit there idly for a good 500-600 pages, only to leave and not attack the city at all, whilst Straff and Cett were planning and scheming. Neither took real action and Straff and his army just got cut up at the end without a lot of detail, Cett's army aided Vin, but their action was left out entirely. There was so much more potential for action and consequences, instead of all the political games. The siege was also said to be straining time and resources throughout the whole book, but it did not have fargoing consequences or actions from the people or main cast. Also, the Koloss were cool to be introduced, but Jastes Lekal and his sham made no sense to me. Zane was a cool addition and an interesting allomancer with his weird tics, but somehow he disappointed me near the end. Also, I know some people think the characters are flat, maybe true, but I stilled missen Kelsier. OreSeur and the traitor were also meh to me personally, the payoff was okay at best.
Now onto the strong points. Firstly, the introduction did get my attention. Again the mists, Marsh, the conventical and the disappearance of the inquisitors did make me wonder what larger scale events were going to occur. The room with blood and potential new inquisitors set up an interesting potential army/bigger cult for the last book. The introduction of duralumin as a metal also enhanced the progress of the magic system a bit, although it was not as prominent as in book 1. The struggles of Vin and Elend in their roles and emotions was a central point of their growth. Tindwyl was a good addition to make Elend learn as a kingly leader. Also, i
... keep reading on reddit β‘So I read sufficiently advanced magic based off recs on this sub. I powered through the 1st book and it was decent at best. The 2nd book seems to be an absolute dread to get through. There is little to no advancement of the story and honestly the MC is just terrible. He is so meek and afraid to offended anyone that he is just dull as well as he gets disgusted by touching others in any manner just makes him seem unrelatable. Plus there is little to no world building and his attunement is lame as he refuses to use it properly. I had assumed I would get something similar to overgeared since he has a builder/enhancement type magic but he has done nothing in almost 40 hrs of audiobook.
Does it get better and should I power through it or just drop and find something else. For a progression fantasy this series seems to have little to no progression whatsoever to the plot or his power.
