A list of puns related to "Angioplasty"
Has anyone had this done? Iβm seeing a new neurologist who posits that the migraines Iβm getting are a result of veins narrowing. He thinks he can fix it by doing this angioplasty procedure to open up any blockages. It sounds really good and heβs had some success, but it sounds terrifying. Does anyone have any experience with this?
I'm looking for some clarity in what can be happening with my dad and realistic expectations. 73m this year about 5'10" 140lbs been smoking since he was 14. Type 2 diabetes used to be very active until covid hit. He's retired in the Philippines now with my mom but I'm not really sure how good their medical system is there. He has heart failure that was discovered about 2 years ago. They put him on blood thinners and said he had to quit smoking since he's a very healthy eater. He didn't quit smoking and everything was fine until he caught tb. Had to go to the hospital, meds made him super sick, couldn't eat, couldn't sleep, and he had a lot of difficulty breathing. Had to go to the hospital, they have him an iv kept him under monitoring and he started to feel better. They changed up his medication a little and he felt fine but still couldn't eat and would wake up on the middle of the night because he couldn't breath. Eventually he goes back to the hospital because the breathing is so bad. Chest x-ray says fluid in his lungs and pneumonia. Thorocentesis to get rid of the fluid (900mL and 500mL removed from each cavity) he starts feeling better. They do an angiogram. Found 1 major clog and 2 minor clogs. Decide to do the major since the dye could hurt his kidneys if they tried to do so 3 and his creatinine levels have always been on the higher end. Scheduled an angioplasty buy they had to do another thorocentesis because of more fluid buildup. He's been on antibiotics for the pneumonia the whole time. Next day successful angioplasty with stent. Next day thorocentesis on the other lung. He started to feel a lot better. He was finally getting some sleep good appetite was back as well. Very cognizant when I spoke to him. Felt well enough to discharge. 3 days later ambulance to the emergency room for trouble breathing. Now he got put at risk for covid since there were covid patients in the area or something. Got admitted and waiting for an update on the chest x ray he took when he came in. My sister says that he's feeling a little better and is starting to eat more. Dr said he's just getting used to the new stent. I wish I could be more detailed but they're an ocean away and my mom just doesn't have the capacity to ask the right questions. I want to make sure I am doing absolutely everything I could be doing and asking what I should be asking to the medical staff. I'm not necessarily questioning anything that they're doing, but I want to make sure that I'm asking
... keep reading on reddit β‘Hello all ,
I underwent an angioplasty 6 months back . I work out daily and one day I started feeling a slight discomfort in my chest while running . I observed the feeling to be persistent in the coming weeks while I run or do any cardio exercise . So I went and did a CT angiogram where they found blocks in my arteries .subsequently I was subjected to angiogram and they inserted stent in my heart . It was a big blow for me mentally as I am generally a very active guy and do exercise regularly and used to take care of my diet in a reasonable way . This incident made me think to make a complete switch of my non-vegetarian diet to a complete whole food plant based diet .
Yesterday was my 6 months follow up and there is good drop in my LDL cholesterol numbers . It was 142 six months back and now itβs 58. The doc said your lipid results are excellent and we can reduce the statin dosage to half . I am now all excited to continue with my current diet and I am relay loving it too . I feel more energy than I used to have before my procedure .
My doubt is , if I continue living a whole food plant based diet , will I be able to get rid of all my medication at some point in my life . I am 45 years old now . Currently I am put on aspirin, clodiprogal as part of dual anti platelet therapy , beta blockers , blood pressure medication and rosuastatin . Total 5 medicines .I know doctors suggestions generally is to continue all the medication I take for life long . But as I am living a totally different life style now ,I would be happy if I could get rid of some medication at least . Has anybody gone through such situation here and were able to kick the medicines out with a long term plant based diet after an angioplasty like me . It would be nice to get such rewards for living a right life style
Thanks
