Interventional Cardiology in different countries

Hello! MS3 in a US MD program here. I was just curious about something: In the united states, although gen cards fellowship entails some interventional training, to practice interventional cards at most places, you need to do a 1-2 year fellowship AFTER cards fellowship. In other countries, is this the same? Or do is it common practice for a gen cards fellowship-trained person to also do angio's/stents/TAVR's at institutional hospitals? Specifically asking about countries in Europe and Asia. Additionally, are the salaries similar? Would appreciate any input, thank you!

Requirements for Applying to interventional Cardiology program in US

Hey guys I finished my general cardiology training in Saudi Arabia and would like to join interventional cardiology program in the US.

Will US programs require me to repeat my general cardiology fellowship? I could not find an answer to this question in ECFGMG website

I appreciate all feedback I can get Thanks πŸ™

Cardiology (interventional) vs. Emergency Medicine

Hello friends,

I wanted to know what made many of you all to pick cardiology, more specifically interventional cardiology. I'm a current MS3 about to start clinicals and I had been set on Emergency Medicine forever after working as a tech several years prior to med school. However, I have recently gained a huge interest in the world of cardiology. I recall seeing cardiolgists all the time in the ER and I loved the idea how they really were able to work in all parts of the healthcare system (ER, Cath lab, ICU, IMC/Cardio wards, and clinic). I guess some of my questions are: What is the job outlook for cardiology in the next 10 years? How difficult is it to match into a Cardiology Fellowship? Would you choose another field such as EM if you had to do it all over again?

Thanks everyone :)
