A list of puns related to "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast"
Like the song is literal ASMR but little people show it appreciation.
What's your favourite song of of AHM?
Does anyone know how to play the last section of Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast on only ONE piano? I can't find any tutorials online. This is my favorite track from Atom Heart Mother, and I'd really love to learn it!
This is an interesting song, some good ASMR for basically about Alan Styles' breakfast. Aside from being another long song that is experimental in nature like Atom Heart Mother in the same album, this is a really unique track at it's time, totally unusual one too, (Unless we pull out Revolution 9 by the Beatles as the prime unusual which was released 2 years ago). And also one chill track too (the most calming of them all in the entire album).
Udderly ridiculous
I shouted, "'Oh, um, flakes, oh... Then, uh, I don't know. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, toast, coffee. Marmalade, I like marmalade. Marmalade, I like marmalade. Porridge is nice. Any cereal, I like all cereal.' a) "Rise and Shine" 'Breakfast in Los Angeles, macrobiotic stuff. No reply.' b) "Sunny Side Up" 'I don't mind the barrow, I like burying the stuff in. No, I've got a terrible back. When I work, it hurts me. Do you know Elton John? Why he sort of a... When drivin' on the radio to sleep, getting ready for a gig. I don't know. He does that electrical stuff, I can't follow that.' c)"Morning Glory" 'Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, toast, coffee. Marmalade, I like marmalade. I don't like coffee. Porridge is nice. Any cereal, I like all cereal. What a day! What? My head's a blank.'"
The group then bought my next three beers, and I was offered sex with the other 72 virgins at the bar. I felt my love for Floyd led to this moment.
What are some songs that are psychedelic epics like these? By any band, but especially Pink Floyd.
So I listened to Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast and of course it intrigued me how they paint such a great picture of the breaks in between parts. i'm so curious as to exactly what Alan was making and i already know he made Rice Krispies. I also loved how they included Alan adding sugar to the cereal because in my experience i always put sugar in my Rice Krispies. if anyone could help me find out exactly what he was making i would really appreciate it and i plan on making my own "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast" at home.
Theory About Alanβs Psychedelic Breakfast.
So around minute 5 of the closing track of Pink Floydβs 1970 LP βAtom Heart Motherβ The character of the song βAlanβ eats his corn flakes. Then you hear a pouring liquid sound, now this is where my question arises. What is Alan doing? Now logically youβd think he is pouring milk into his corn flakes, as one does. But that canβt be the case because Alan was just eating his cornflakes. Now you might say, he was adding more milk because he didnβt have enough beforehand. But that canβt be the case because the noise lasts for around a minute, which by that point the bowl would be overflowing with milk. Then that made be believe that Alan was using the bathroom or βtaking a pissβ if you will. This is disproven though as you can hear the noise getting louder and it is clear that he is in fact taking a shower. Minutes later though around 12:00 you can hear a sink running and then turned off, you can hear it drip through the end off the song. Which is weird because of this: Why would Alan wash his hands after showering? That Doesnβt make any sense. Which leads me to this conclusion, Alan after waking up treated himself to a pleasant cornflakes breakfast, after eating he decided to take a shower as one does. During said shower he realized that he needed to use the bathroom, which he did once his shower finished. Therefore leading to him washing his hands at the end of the song and the sink shutting off.
I honestly think itβs one of Pink Floydβs most underrated/under appreciated pieces of music, and it deserves so much more praise in my opinion. I can understand why some people wouldnβt enjoy the sounds of eating and whatnot, but the whole song is just beautiful to me. Particularly the Sunny Side Up section. That middle piece of music has to be the most peaceful, calming thing Iβve ever heard. All of the guitars just compliment each other perfectly, and the breakfast sounds just make it sound so much more real and human. Listening to Sunny Side Up is like a time lapse of an incredibly peaceful, simple life within the cover of Atom Heart Mother. Just a simple, calm life with no stresses or worries. It seriously moves me to tears almost every time I listen to it, and I really do consider it to be one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever created. I just canβt put into words how much it moves me, itβs one of my favourite Pink Floyd songs for sure.
Does anyone else enjoy this piece as well? And if you donβt enjoy the eating sounds, what are your thoughts on the instrumentation?
iβve been listening frequently and the final part of the song is a truly masterpiece, the bassline is very good, the drums have a very cool effect theres a awesome guitar in the background soloing and there are at least 2 pianos playing at the same time and the best part for me is when the organ activate the rotary speaker and play some notes. absolutely fantastic piece of music, not forgeting about the two other parts which are also fantastic.
