A list of puns related to "Greenspan"

Most people are unaware of the fact that Alan Greenspan's PHD thesis was ironically focused on the affects of rising home prices on consumer spending. Somehow the man was totally blindsided by the housing bubble after focusing on it in his own dissertation. Most people don't know this because his thesis was actually held under lock and key by NYU for over thrity years:

Eventually Barrons got their hands on it in 2008 and broke the story of it's topic for the general public to see:

Which of course brings us to Greenspan's all time quote:
"There is no perpetual motion machine which generates an ever-rising path for the prices of homes."
OK people, strap in. First of all, let me assure you that everything below happened exactly as Iโve written it. Iโm a former journalist; I love chatting with interesting people and kinda letting them talk. Today has left me shook, but thoroughly entertained.
So, Iโm in Las Vegas today on a post-Covid vacation with my wife and son. We hop in an a taxi to go to an arcade; my son wants to game, damnit.
Driver asks me, โWhat do you do for a living?โ
I tell him Iโm an author.
He says, โIโm a writer too, but my book is only 25 pages. Itโs about cryptocurrency.โ
I avoid talking much about crypto in real life, but Iโm always interested in what people are thinking, and he says heโs writing a book. I lean forward as he turns out of Caesarโs Palace onto The Strip, โInteresting. Tell me more about that.โ
He drives strangely: a kind of herky-jerky, gas on, gas off, gas on, gas off, like a drummer in a band keeping the beat with his feet.
He starts with the big reveal of his book: โSatoshi is 6-7 Asian guys.โ
Iโm thinking, โOkay, Iโve heard that theory before,โ but I donโt say anything.
He goes on, โYouโll never guess who hired them. Itโs a name youโve heard.โ
The whole interaction is strange as hell already, but keep in mind, this guy is around 65, with a kind of washed-out face caked with spray tan that makes him look like a corpse ready for viewing.
He stares right at me in the rearviewโeyes nowhere near the road, but he gave up caring about roads long agoโโAllan Greenspan hired 6-7 Asian guys to create Bitcoin.โ
He goes on to explain that Greenspanโwho was the Chairman of the Federal Reserve for 20 years, including the years just before Bitcoinโs launchโwanted Americans to be able to save money, given the weakening dollar. He was pissed about the financial crisis, so he hired the 6-7 Asian guys to create it. He concludes, โIโm not 100% sure about Greenspan, but the 6-7 Asians is definite.โ
โHow do you know for sure about the 6-7 Asian guys?โ I ask.
He looks at me in the rearview againโmissing a turn in the process, and says the following as though Iโm the dumbest bastard on earth: โAmericaโs best-known psychic, Michelle Whitedove. Sheโs sure of it.โ
I stare back to see if heโs trolling me, but heโs not. This guy is dead serious.
So now Iโm pretty curious. I mean, if Iโm chatting with a psychic who knows the identity of the real Satoshi, whatโs my next question gonna be? Same as his was: What coins will moon?
โGet out your phone,โ he says. โIt

Its rare to find a cookbook written this well
I knew nothing of Dorie Greenspan prior to reading this book other than she has written a number of well reviewed and highly acclaimed cookbooks. It turns out that โnumberโ is now 14 and it represents 30 years of cookbookery, as she calls it. Thatโs thirty years of experience in teaching us to cook bake and delight in the wonders of food. In reading this book Iโm impressed, this book stands out as exceptional in its detail and thorough explanations, it has a fluid style and well done photos..though other books do surpass this one if judging by photos alone in my opinion (for instance I donโt know how to braid and I donโt think from the photos alone I would quite feel comfortable doing it without checking another source). But to be clear this book overall is excellent in terms of photography as well. In the 14 books and 30 years she has mastered her craft but the most extraordinary thing is she maintains a joyful enthusiasm, curiosity and even playfulness that brings life into the creations she shared with us. Her passion for baking is infectious and has me excited to jump into the kitchen and start baking too. Iโm going to start with one of the breads and report back in a day or two.
Here is an example of how well written her instructions are. This is her describing how to griddle cook English muffins: โ You want it to reach 350 degrees F. Measure the temperature with a thermometer gun or test it by holding your hand about 5 inches above the griddleโif you can keep it there comfortably for 3 to 4 seconds, you should be good.โ She comes at it from multiple ways to help you get the best result with detailed knowledge โ350Fโ (rarely do I see an IR thermometer temp for a griddle BRAVO, most say โmedium heatโ) but also how you can get a good result out without buying fancy tools. Am I the only one totally floored by how amazing this is? I love this.
The book is 400 pages divided into seven recipe sections including both sweet and savory fare. The focus is recipes that are simple, rely on basic techniques and have deep flavors and complex textures. They are designed to be flexible so you can modify and play with them. And we are promised that each and every reci
