The PIX11 Yule log room on TV every Christmas morning always felt sort of surreal. Time is literally looped around so the fire never burns out, the wood stays burning, the gifts sit forever unopened, and the program exists for creating nostalgia to a memory I never even had.
Tried my hand at a Black Forest Yule Log this year! Thought it turned out ok but I did not as tight of a roll as I wanted. And according to my mother-in-law it was "too much chocolate"
