A list of puns related to "Western dress codes"
I'm aware that public displays of religious practices/symbols were extensively ostracized in the Soviet Union where atheism was propagated by the state. However I heard that, without having a clear evidence, the state was quite tolerant of Islamic clothes even at the university education in Soviet Uzbekistan after WW2. Is this true?
I tried asking this on /r/askreddit but the mods removed it and didn't know where else it could go...
Obviously this applies to tribes that have seen/heard of western dress code. And know how we have rules about women covering boobs and genitals in most places. And how on an average day most women are covered from roughly the boobs to the knees at least.
I know there are differences in reasons why Westerners and Muslims dress differently. But many remote tribes go round pretty much naked. Westerners probably cover 1/2-3/4s of skin depending on the weather and Muslim women probably cover 90%+ of skin, depending on whether they wear a hijab or burka etc. So the difference between what tribes people and westerners wear is similar to the difference between westerners and women in the middle east.
Just a thought...
NOTE: I'm not supporting the idea that female Muslims/ women living in the middle east should be forced to completely cover up. Or that all us Westerners should go round naked all the time

Hey guys!
I just got a new job as a hostess at a super fancy restaurant downtown and I got an email that said to dress "all black and sharp".
What are your guys favourite black pieces that would look really good in a restaurant setting? Manager said I could wear long sleeves, t-shirts, tanks, dresses for tops and pants or skirts for bottoms, as long as they're black.
Help!! Thanks :D
Hello everyone just wanted to know what I should wear to my first day of training
I understand that girls are often targeted by school dress codes, but if the real world has a dress code to it then why is it bad to enforce in schools?
Like the coaches, players not playing, anyone on the bench just wears a casual outfit
I grew up (in 23) remembering games as coaches and injured players having to wear suits and stuff idk Iβm not against it at all just wondering what changed it or why did it change
Cloth has always been function-first for me. I was a T-shirt and jeans student, with one suit/tie in the closet for the job interviews. Entering the corporate world, I got used to tailor-made suits and appreciated the functionality of button-suspenders. I had an enormous collection of ties that I finally lightened during lockdown. (Functional) business-casual attire would eventually trickle down to leisure/private life, along with the T-shirts and other swag from conference travel. I did and do invest on performance clothing: comfort while being active outdoor is important to me. I never spent money on making myself look good for myself or my SO, except on wedding day. I stopped wearing fragrances more than twenty years ago, using scent-free shaving products. I stopped going to the hair dresser when I was working near a beach and taking a dive almost daily after hours. My ex would trim my hair every weekend. Now I run the lawn-mower on my head and face once or twice a week. I never wore jewelry and stopped wearing wristwatches (except diving computers) when flip-phones were able to remind me of time. Last month, I bought myself an outfit for the purpose of dating for the first time. I did not splurge. I was never comfortable shopping for cloth. I went to Costco. A decent pair of Calvin Klein pants and a dress shirt to go with it.
What do you do to dress yourself for a date? And what do you expect from your date?
Where does good hygiene end and vanity start?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences and opinions.
I went to Loweβs to shop for some Christmas lights. Loweβs letβs their employees wear casual clothes but they all wear their distinguishable red vests that says LOWEβS Employee. I was basically in pajamas-I was wearing a black t-shirt and grey sweatpants.
Anyway, I was looking at LED lights and decided to walk away to a different section. As I walk away I saw and heard a woman sigh with disgust. I thought I had gotten too close to her so she was showing her displeasure.
A couple minutes later I run into the same woman. I saw by the look on her partially visible face that she was frustrated and upset. She then asked me βDo you work here?β I look myself up and down and say βNoβ with a confused look. The look on her face went from upset to embarrassed really quick. She walked away without saying anything else. She grabbed her husband and got away as far as possible. She was upset during the first encounter because she thought I was an employee who was ignoring her.
I am soon to start my very first government position! What's the best way to prepare for the dress code of your agency? How did you all prepare for this on day one of your first government position?
Today is my first day (training) at an AMC Theatre. I was told to wear the AMC shirt provided and all black, but I can't find any information about black footwear or hats, so I figured this place would be my best bet. Are we allowed to wear boots and a baseball cap, or should I just wear sneakers and no hat?
So my 01 had a huddle the other day and told all of us that Kohlβs will be requiring uniforms at every store by spring. She also said all of us will be required to wear the same face mask everyday provided by kohlβs. Anyone else heard anything?
My friend at another store told me her manager said everyone will have to wear black button up shirts everyday. And I think thatβs ridiculous. Why canβt they let us wear what we want? We already work in sweat shops. Plus Button up shirts have never fit me.

It'd be pretty reasonable. I'm from Arizona, so I'm gonna relate it to where I'm at.
Boys: Wear what makes you comfortable, but think of a more casual business casual. Be environmentally sensible (dress for the weather/season).
Girls: Wear what makes you comfortable. Be environmentally sensible (dress for the weather/season).
THEN I HAD A THOUGHT!
Students: Wear what makes you comfortable and dress for the weather/season accordingly.
I tried asking this on /r/askreddit but the mods removed it and then someone suggested this sub...
