A list of puns related to "Underrepresented group"
Title: Different, Not Less! Age Range: 7-10 Additional note: another reason why I need tips is because I have to actually read the story to the elementary school kids too!
Start-
This story is about Avery, a smart and curious 9 year old.
She loves learning about all the different countries in the world, and often goes to the library to read about geography!
Avery is also autistic!
She found out when she was only 6 years old.
This means that she sees the world and communicates in a different and unique way.
Sometimes this means that she has trouble understanding social situations and talking to people, but it also means that she is very smart, honest and notices details that other kids don't.
Avery is proud of her autism!
After a short but fun summer, she felt nervous on first day at a new school. She hid behind her moms, but when class started she was all on her own.
The classroom was very loud and overwhelming for Avery.
Because of her autism, she often had trouble with loud or complicated noises (like the chattering going on in the classroom), bright lights and strong smells.
βBrrrrrring!β The school bell rang loudly and the first class started.
βHI EVERYONE! WELCOME TO YOUR FIRST DAY OF GRADE 6!β Her teacher yelled. Avery covered her ears.
Her teacher started class by making everyone say their name, something they like and an interesting fact about themself.
She was still very nervous and overwhelmed from the loud noises going on, but she was still curious about her new classmates and excited to tell them about herself.
When it was Averyβs turned to talk, she all of a sudden felt like her mouth was glued shut.
She didn't need to worry though! Her moms always taught her that if she couldn't speak, she could always write.
So, Avery wrote on her paper:
βHi, my name's Avery! I like geography and a special fact about myself is that I'm autistic and proud of it!β
When her classmates read what was on her paper, many of them were confused.
Why wasnt she talking? What does Autistic mean?
Some of the kids thought they knew, but they still didnβt quite understand.
Some thought it meant she knew less, or she had no emotions, or she had the mind of a baby⦠but none of those things were true!
As the months went by, her classmates still didnβt understand. They saw her as βlesserβ, So they bullied her.
Sometimes kids would treat her like she was a baby,
and sometimes kids would make fun of how she would act,
and

The Inhuams are of marvels oldest group in comics and yet we literally have only 5 characters who are inhuman those being: black bolt, kamala khan, medusa karnak and quake 3 of which need dire buffs and overhauls
so anyway i was thinking how come we dont even have the full royal family and its a tag in the game?
like we seriously need crystal and gorgon in this game
gorgon could be another champion to finally utilize and be immune to quake's effects given his unique power set
and crystal is just another very easy way to interduce another cold snap character while also having incinerate which besides elsa should be the only one to do so but on a much greater scale
White hetero female (she/her) here. I've been writing for a long time (mainly fanfic with a scattering of shorter traditionally published works when I was younger), but now I'm really starting to dig in and trying to write an original (young adult) novella. The thing that is giving me major anxiety about creating my own characters, though, is whether or not I should write people from underrepresented people groups (LGBTQ, Asian-American, African-American, etc.) instead of white and hetero people as my protagonists.
Even though I've been writing for a long time, I'm a pretty young writer in age, so I'm still learning a lot about life in general. In my daily life, I try to be very conscious of the struggles minorities face and educate myself on social justice issues, historical inaccuracies, etc. At the same time, I know that I will always have intrinsic biases in my perspective simply by virtue of being white and hetero and having all of my life experiences filtered through that lens. I want there to be more representation of other people groups in literature, certainly, but I don't personally feel prepared to write from a perspective so drastically different from my own yet.
If I were to write from the perspective of a minority person, I would want to get it right. I would want to be really thorough in my research and feel comfortable that I was representing them (and their culture) in a positive, unbiased way. But for my first novella I really want to focus on things like plot, character development, pacing, etc. (all those little writing details that make a story good). I'm hoping that once I develop my skills there, then I can try to do harder things like what I just described.
Is that selfish? Am I perpetuating a dominant white hetero narrative by writing in the voice of white hetero characters? I keep turning it over and over in my mind, and it's really blocking my whole creative process.
Does anyone else have anxiety about this or am I just going crazy???
Gistcoin is a utility token for all influencers, streamers, musicians, artists, brands, and content creators from all backgrounds who create content across social media communities. I believe that a decentralized token system allows for all creators β including creators from underrepresented groups β to have direct access to their fans and monetization methods. http://www.gistcoin.io/
How do you make sure unconscious bias such as racism or misogyny stays out of the criticism?
I think liberals see the world through identity politics, but socioeconomic mobility is driven by more factors than that.
Hi all,
You might remember a recent post about a hiking group for POC. I have created a Facebook group to arrange meet ups if anyone is interested. Again, the group is meant for those who feel underrepresented in the outdoors, but is by no means exclusive so don't feel hesitant to reach out!
PM me and I'll send you the link. Also, let me know if FB doesn't work, we can consider additional platforms. Thanks y'all!
Edit: Wow I got a ton of DMs!! Thank you everyone. Iβm only looking to work with a few people right now since I too am learning a new skill and getting started on applying my current experience to this new domain. Iβll keep the post up in case anyone is interested for the future but thank you so much for the positive response so far, and Iβll try to be as helpful as I can!

I'm a mid-level PM at Microsoft, and Iβve been taking a training certification for habit coaching. My focus is on helping underrepresented minorities in tech (women, POC, LGBTQ, low-income/first-gen etc.) build confidence and advocate for themselves. I am looking to coach people relatively early in career, let's say under 3 years.
I need a few practice clients for the second half of my program, and I was wondering if anyone here (or people you know) might be interested! Itβs 100% complimentary, and would start in about a week (April 21).
This isnβt general life/career coaching, and our focus will be on building specific daily habits that support the goal. The coaching is done via asynchronous text chat where weβll check in a few times a day when itβs convenient (i.e. no live calls or live βtextingβ).
Please DM/message me if that seems interesting! I'll get you a link and promo code to get started next week.
