- how do they ensure that the fuel does not ever ignite while inside the crank case? 2) how do they prevent what seems like what must be the inevitable carbon build-up from the fuel/oil mixture from fouling the plugs/cylinder? thank you in advance - I am only familiar with car engines, so the idea that you deliberately draw fuel into the crank case and oil into the cylinders is blowing my mind.
Looking to find a place that sells the Stihl Two Stroke engine oil, trying to get the best bang for the buck. I know you can go to the local Stihl dealer, but what do y’all recommend apart from that? Or any tips learned from experience would be great too! Thanks!
I have had a very very vague understanding of gas powered tools referred to as two stroke. Mostly knowing you fuel it with a mix of oil and gas (never mixed it myself, just didn't fill it with straight gas), and that you needed to pull the choke when first starting it. I have been trying to educate myself better about how this works, as I suck a giant dick at it. I realized the choke often is set to release after a pull or two, didn't understand it. Can one of you badass ladies help me understand these machines? I apologize. I am a moron about this. Thanks
Two-stroke engines can release up to 30% of the gasoline unburned, which is similar to spilling 3 to 5 gallons of gasoline every time you refill your gasoline vehicle, enough to flush an older toilet. Burning the motor oil and releasing gasoline vapors both contribute to two-stroke engines being highly inefficient and polluting. The benzene levels behind two-stroke engines can be as high as 200,000 PPM. Using a two-stroke leaf blower for just 1 hour can cause as much pollution as driving for hundreds to a thousand miles.
If something is small enough to require a two-stroke engine, than it can use an electric motor. Please do not use gasoline leaf blowers, as the ultimate waste of gasoline, oil, and pollution is to just spin an impeller to move one of the lightest substance on the planet being destroyed.
Hey guys I've got a question cuz I've been working on my two stroke bike project for a while and it's running pretty good except for whenever I get to the high-end the engine seems to bog down and I notice a loss of power any idea what could be causing this?
