A list of puns related to "Strobe beacon"
Hi, long story short, I'm a pilot and I flew to Ghana for work.
I met a kid at an orphanage in Ghana who's interested in being a pilot one day.
He says that he always looks out the windows and he's mesmerised by the "blinking lights" on aircrafts flying overhead. Although he's just 6, I explained to him what each lights are for and his eyes widened in interest as he just sat there intently listening to me talk about aeroplanes
I flew back and I spoke to a friend who told me its possible to make a tiny electrical board that mimics the lights. Can someone teach me how to do it?
Maybe if I'm able to make it, I'll give it to him as a gift.
This may be a "moronic monday" question, but here it is (Sunday on the couch window shopping on Aircraft Spruce).
I know as an owner I can change light bulbs with a log entry, but can I replace my original 1968 rotating beacon and strobe with LED replacements and log it? I'm inclined to think no, since it would involve reconnecting some wiring.
If it's yes. though, I'll press submit. :D
Hi, I have flown Cessnas only and recently took a ride in a Piper, the Piper doesn't seem to have the classic beacon but has recognition lights instead, but I am told that they do nto simply show a flashign red like a beacon would. What is the difference? Thanks
I giggle like a giddy little schoolgirl every time you guys throw on the big ol' yeller flashers to say thanks when I let ya'll pull out in front of me.
Makes my shitty, nose-to-tail drive home in the pouring, grey rain almost bearable. It's the simple things in life, some days.
Keep up the good work, fellas!
Plan on starting to do night kayaking on local fresh water lake ( 3-4 mile paddle). Anyone have a favorite emergency strobe or beacon they recommend for PFDs? Thanks
Clara peered into the darkened dorm room, her new eyes limning the two sleeping boys in blue. Despite the darkness she could clearly see the mounds of laundry, the guitars propped in the corner by Evanβs bed, and the books. There were always so many books in Evanβs life. The braille on their spines looked strange to her new eyes, the false-light catching on all the dots until they seemed more like pearls glistening in the night.
She blinked, and nothing changed at all. Clara Cartwright had been given the most useless power in the word, as far as she was concerned. But she was not the only person it might concern.
βWake up!β she hissed, as she crept closer to Evanβs bed. He rolled, grumbling, but did not wake. She cursed and tried again, whispering into his ear, βwake up!β
Evan had been a heavy sleeper since they were kids. It was the first time Clara had ever hated that.
Desperate times and desperate measures. Clara clamped her hand over his mouth, leaned down to look into his eyes even though it wouldnβt matter, and said, βwake up!β again.
He came awake with a quick thrash of terror and a muffled grunt. His dead eyes shone like beacons in the darkness. βItβs me, itβs me,β Clara said, quickly. βEv, come on we have to go!β
He blinked, the light strobing in the room, and then nodded slowly. Clara released her grip on his mouth. βWhat the hell? What time is it?β he said.
β2:45,β she said.
βPM?β
βAM.β
Evan groaned and she stifled it again. A few feet away his roommate Adam grumbled in his sleep and they both went stock still. This far after hours the rules about fraternization between the boys and girls dorms were absolute.
βCome on,β Clara whispered, and without another word, Adam went with her.
He dressed in the dark, with only a perfunctory gesture for Clara to turn around. She did, though she stole a glance towards the end as he buttoned his shirt, breath catching in her throat.
Clara and Evan had known each other since they were children, had bathed in the same tub, patted out the same mud cakes, gone to all the same schools. Sheβd known she loved him at least half the time, when one or the other of them wasnβt being an insufferable brat.
When he lost his sight Clara had realized she loved him all the time. Now, four years later and one superpower later, she was ready to make good on that.
βWhere are we going?β Evan said, as she lead him out of his room.
βTo a Swapmeet,β she said. He froze.
βA Swapmeet? Woah, no we arenβt! Do you know wha

Sam turned so he could see the four Eir through his helmet visor. "I want quarantine tents erected here, no one gets into the station without being cleared by you."
The leader of the Eir tilted its head down. "We will be thorough."
Sam waved over a cluster of SFP. "I want you with the Eir, but do not bring anymore clusters. I want to limit exposure."
"We will do as you say Sam." The Starfish persons answered.
Curator walked faster, and strode up beside Sam. "You ready for this?"
Sam nodded, and tapped his fragger with his right hand. "Let's go kick some doors."
Sam and Curator walked down the gangway tube to the door to the Kawaroo ship. The Eir had finished setting up the quick pull tents, and a defensive perimeter had been established by station officers. Sam spoke into his helmet mic. "Orbit. Put me through to Tweaa'da." He looked at Curator. "Did I say that right?"
She shrugged. "That is an ethics question. You miss so many subtle tones in everything you say, I have no idea how you are even able to communicate with anyone on this station."
"Ha." Sam chuckled. "Ethics?"
She nodded. "It is up to their code of ethics and mannerisms to whether and what extent they forgive your mispronunciations." She smiled her silver grin. "Lets hope they don't come out blasting."
"Hello." A translated voice called over the channel. "Is this the Sam of Twain station?"
"Yes. I am Sam." He motioned for Curator to be ready. "We are on the other side of your hatch. We are armed. We are not entirely certain as to your situation. I have been informed you do not have a full digital program suite. Is that correct?" Sam looked at the metal door, shimmering with a tinge of red, held in place by dark root like ribbons spreading out and away through the hull.
"That is correct. Our ship is Gree. We want to save our Gree, the infection is isolated to several sections. We will need help to save it. You said you would offer help."
Sam looked at Curator, mouthing "Gree?"
She shrugged again.
"We are ready to assist, open the hatch when you are able." Sam said.
The red tinged hatched parted from the hull, a hiss of air entered the airlock. Ten creatures stepped out, and Sam backed up. They were i

On this list I focused mostly on how etherites may use their tech to assist them into setting up laboratories, workshops and producing their devices even when they don`t have the best conditions or optmal equipments. This is a " iron man built out of a cave" sort of deal, and I think is something characters will often face when going all over the world of darkness in a chronicle.
Once again, tell me what you think about the project so far? Is this list disapointing for not trying to reach for the stars or was it the right decision?

O - Explorer Notes: Molecular Echoes
Effect: By tapping on the surface of objects, the scientist tests multiple frequencies looking for the right response of a substance he is looking for.
When it comes to the physical substances, the limited nature of human senses tend to lead us to think no greater secret exists beyond image, texture and taste. Scientific research, on the other hand, is often mesmerized by the immense complexity hidden in simple material forms. Model after model is proposed and discarded, each revealing a different angle of the complex prism that lies on the foundation of our world. Etherites don`t try to limit their understanding of nature by a single point of view, they take every discovery as a hint, a step toward new possibilities, and by opening multiple fronts of research and exploration, they surpass sleepers and technocrats alike both in their greatest miracles as well as in the practical, simple methods they develop to understand the world.
This rote was created as an aid in the task of probing, mining and searching for specific materials. Recognizing that all things in nature have a unique frequency, the scientist tries to match vibrations in order to reveal echoes, harmonies and dissonances that characterize specific objects and materials in the surrounding environment. In its original form, this method used a simple hammer to create vibrations, metal plates to resonate and some form of listening aid like a stethoscope or microphone. In the age of inf

I purchased this light from Amazon for $33.92 during a sale. The price at the time of writing is $37.99 after the 5% off coupon on the product listing. The "normal" price is $40 but there always seems to be some kind of sale or coupon going on. Here is the official product page where it is available for an even lower price, but with slower shipping.

The box is printed white and yellow cardboard with Wurkkos branding on the top and a sticker on the bottom declaring which model of light is inside. The light comes in a bubble wrap sleeve that does an adequate job of protecting it. Included in the box is the light itself, a battery, a micro-usb charging cable which I seem to have misplaced, two spare O-rings, a basic lanyard, a little paper reminding you to remove a protective sticker from the battery, a spacer that allows you to use an 18650 cell, and the manual.

SO, NEW GAME MECHANIC TIME
Video explanation here:
More verbose explanation:
SOLO MODE : ALT-F10 (wish there was an actual way to program this - take a really nice photo.
AND - if you are in an βexperimental cameraβ, in the darkness - searching a tunnel - or a tube that you can't go into unless you are detached from your vehicle, in the game's puzzle-flight-mode. (They made the controls different, to make it harder - obviously) But, in this mode you are a fly. Lights look like giant STARS. Crevices become pyramids. Basically, itβs another world - and this is where the clues are. LOOK for 4βs and 6βs β¦ but symbol form. Or listen for sounds. We know three of them. Iβll post the video of all three here later.
SOLO MODE : ALT -F10 : IN THE DARK (like a tunnel) = STROBE LIGHT!
STROBE LIGHT isnβt mentioned anywhere. I found it today, dropping back into the hangar bay of an ORBIS to look for the First Guardian I found. It is dark. But what I realizedβ¦ you can strobe flash and see - for a moment. The photo saved will still suckβ¦. Dark. But you can get your bearings - or capture those hidden Guardians. They go into diff sliding windows hiding under badly-drawn-human-eyes. I caught one with my solo camera in the light, heading out of the outfitting bay - not too far from SOL. And when I went back down to see the Guardian, the whole room had changed, which I had never seen before going up and down with the same ship.
But I think, like many other things - you have to hunt for them in the dark.
But there is more. If you want to be able to keep your strobe photo, you are going to have to screen capture.
Every computer and console has that option. Scroll through the strobe burts and export what you want between the darkness.

Just as not all taurs inherit wings from their parents, so not all taurs inherit a horn from their parents either. Just as with wings, the horn is a recessive trait, meaning that genes must be inherited from both parents in order for the offspring to develop a horn, but otherwise they may inherit the genes on from one parent and pass them on, unexpressed, to a future generation (when it can also serve to be quite a surprise!).
Whereas wings will "break out" about 2 months prior to birthing, a taur's horn - if they have one - will not begin to "break out" until about 2 months after birthing; naturally, as this saves the mother from being accidentally gored by her unborn child. The horn is never perfectly straight, and grows out of the front of the skull in a spiral fashion, causing it to develop a corkscrew fluting that is almost as unique to the taur as their fingerprints, though less easy to read.
A typical adult taur's horn is about 12" long. It extends from the upper part of the skull, in the middle of the forehead, outwards at an inclined angle of roughly 45ΒΊ. It is mostly solid, made of bone, although it often has hollow pockets or cavities randomly scattered within its structure, that can alter its physical properties.
First thing's first: there's no such thing as magic in the world of Centorus. However, saying that, taur horns are capable of generating effects that can appear to be magical to others who believe that magic exists; but are in fact the result of mechanical or biochemical actions.
Taur's with horns can develop at most one of four possible "abilities"; because these abilities work differently, each one actually makes it impossible to possess any of the others as well. They are the generation of: sound, heat, light, or lightning.
Sound: A taur can generate sound through their horn by means of subtly vibrating its bone structure. The exact note that this produces is determined by the structure of the horn, including the exact arrangement of any small cavities within it. As such, the note is essent

The floor felt soft, spongy, slightly slippery and sticky at the same time. The fog/mist was knee deep and swirled around everyone's legs as they walked. The walls were twisted, black and dark red, conduits, bulging sections, twisted swirling sections that looked more like they had been grown than manufactured. The water dripped from the ceiling and far off, loud in the silence, but the hiss of armor and the clink of weapons was strangely muted, seeming to come from far away, muffled and silenced.
Off in the distance was screaming, crying, begging, and weeping in a hundred different languages.
The passage, which the mapping seeds had recorded as a straight 340 meters, now twisted and turned, no single straight-away longer than a dozen steps of the massive armored human at the front of the small group.
Palgret held tight to his rifle, the IR sensors in his visor turned all the way up to give him any warning he could possibly get.
His mind still shuddered at the memory of those terrible five armed creatures, the bony plates in their mouths, they way they oozed acidic slime that ate through warsteel and flesh in equal measure.
Palgret swallowed thickly, forcing down stomach acid, at how Culvit had been alive, suffering, in agony, before the big Terran had crushed his head with a single stomp of a boot.
The Terran stopped at a T-intersection, his cutting bar idling in his hand, the red hot teeth dripping molten warsteel on the floor.
Heavy infantry, monster class, went through Palgret's mind.

"It is here now," Mu'ucru'u said softly. He checked the display in his hand. "We have been moving steadily away from the Strategic Intelligence Housing and toward the surface of the hull no matter what directions we take."
--mapping seeds out-- 030 ordered.
The other green mantid, 281, lifted his back legs and the small mortar on his lower abdomen fired six space shots. The tiny drones unfurled mylar wings, applied electricity to firm them up, and jetted down the hall on pinprick graviton engines.
Palgret was just happy there hadn't been any more of those terrible Mar-gite starfish creatures.

These lights were sent to me directly by XTAR in exchange for an honest review. There were no monetary transactions whatsoever.
Official product pages: T1, T1-UV
Price at time of writing: $35.90 for the T1, $31.99 for the T1-UV
The boxes are pretty nice. They are small, stamped metal tins with a hard plastic window on the front to show off the light. I can see these being pretty useful as small parts bins. I'm not a fan of spending a lot of money on fancy packaging, but I think XTAR did a good job by making the fancy packaging pretty useful after it's fulfilled its intended purpose of holding the light.

Inside is everything you need and nothing you really don't. You get the light, the manual, a carabiner & split ring, and a pleasantly short charging cable. Contents are the same for both lights. Everything seems to come with mile long cables now so this is a nice touch. They'd be great for charging your phone with a power bank in the same pocket. I measure 7.125" (180mm) from end to end. They only carry power, no data.

These lights feel pretty nice. The anodizing is quite good and I think the T1 in particular looks excellent. The T1-UV is a little less purple than the product photos suggest, but there's definitely some purple in the mostly grey anodizing. The window for the side emitters sticks up just a hair past the aluminum on both lights. It's more pronounced on the T1-UV. It's not really a problem, just a little fit & finish thing I noticed. The laser etching on the bezel and back is very nice, though I don't see why it wa
