A list of puns related to "St. Augustine grass"

Does this need to be watered into the lawn? I was curious because the technician sprayed it mixed with water and said it needed to get into the root system
Extremely new to this. We just purchased our first house in May (with and HOA, yay!) and was told we have SA grass. But there seems to be so much more mixed in, including clovers and what seem to be thinner grasses.
I went to purchase some some SA seeds to repair some thinning spots and was told that I could I only get plugs for this type of grass. Is this true? Would it hurt if I mixed in another type of seed on my lawn to help fill it out? Iβd be happy to provide a picture if it would help.
Herbicide for weeds? I watched the video in FAQ and I just want to confirm that spot spraying weeds ON THE GRASS wonβt kill the grass also?
Iβve read the FAQ and Iβm still a little lost and not very confident I wonβt hurt my lawn more.
Iβm sorry if these questions have been asked before on this sub, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Itβs only in certain areas. Is it fungus ? Thanks
I have some patchy spots on my lawn but rather than using methods like a plug, sod, or seeding, I was curious if I can just wait for current healthy grasses to spread? I understand that when people use methods such as a "plug", St. Augustine grass spreads to empty areas, but how FAR can they spread? I'm in NO RUSH to fix my lawn by the way.
Iβm thing of getting some St Augustine Grass for my Back yard I live in Snellville Ga has anyone he luck! It gets a good deal of shade and Water runoff
Does anyone know what type of weeds these are? I'm trying to get rid of them as I have a huge patch of it in my backyard after my lawn being scalped multiple times in a row. I live in southwest Florida and have St. Augustine grass. I thought they were nutsedge so I put down sedgehammer a few days ago. Just want to make sure that's the correct ID.

I know this is a first world problem, but am I the only one that doesn't like it? You can walk super comfortably in it, you don't wanna lie down in it ... can play soccer in it really ... anyone else?
Background on the 2yo lawn:
My parents just moved into their new house a little less than two years ago. Just before the actual move-in date, they sunk thousands of dollars hiring a local company to remove existing scraggly lawn(shrubs, small trees and all), level the landscape, fix the sprinkler system, then install a new St. Augustine lawn. It wasn't extravagant, or even the best-looking lawn on the block. They just wanted a nice, healthy St. Augustine lawn.
What happened that resulted in a dead lawn?
He applied a chemical he thought would only target and kill sedge grass. I didn't press for more details. It's readily apparent my step dad is quite embarrassed. He clearly just learned a very hard lesson in lawn care "do's and don'ts" 101. I feel really bad for him because he has always taken a lot of pride in taking care of the lawn, and I know it's eating him up inside.
My speculation of next steps:
I'm fairly sure they're going to reach out to the same company, remove the dead lawn, and re-sod a new St. Augustine lawn.
I'm honestly posting in the hopes of receiving constructive advice or words of wisdom that we might not be aware of; or tips that could ease this painful predicament as we move forward. Should we be worried about insects that might move in? I would hate for it to get worse before it gets better. This is just not something we know anything about.
Thanks in advance.
This area has become my most recent trouble spot (note the leaf spot) but I'm not sure if these guys are the culprit as well (center of photo). I saw a few of them around the same spot.

My lawn area that is between the side walk and the curb is looking terrible. It is the part that gets the most sun during the day and has normally been really dry. I have increased the amount of water due to the dryness. Other yard around me do not seem to have this problem.
I recently applied some atrazine to help with a clover problem we have. This might have cause damage to the st augustine.
What can I do to revive my lawn? This is the only area of my lawn that has this problem.

I've been trying to buy a pallet of St. Augustine grass in Austin, but can't seem to find any place that is selling any. Lowes and Home Depot won't deliver to Texas and the local grass/sod places are sold out of St. Augustine. Does anyone have the inside info on how I can score some of this grass, man?
I'm in North Florida and looking for a post emergent. I don't have a TON of weeds but they are popping up. Id like to get on a pre-emergent schedule but I guess before I do that I need to get rid of what's already there?
I don't have names of the existing weeds but I guess it's probably 2-4 different ones? Should I post pictures or can you guys recommend a product that covers lots of different weeds without damaging the grass.
Last year this area of my lawn was very healthy, but now I have these dead patches. I checked, and I don't see any of the grey spot on the leaves. Does anyone know what the issue is? I live in the Dallas, TX area.
Is it normal for them to be tangled / growing into one another?
I'm attempting a half-assed job of patching some spots in my yard and I ordered some plugs. I had to use scissors on the first batch bc they were tangled AF. The second batch wasn't nearly as bad. Just wondering is this normal or a sign of bad quality? I had imagined they would be individual plugs that you could just pull out one at a time. I didn't realize just getting them out of the packaging would be a pain in the ass.
Hey guys,
For the record, I did Google this, but it seemed like all the results were about seeding after using preemergent, which isnβt what Iβm looking for.
About 6 weeks ago I planted between 20 and 30 St Augustine grass plugs. Iβm wanting them to eventually spread across my entire yard. Other than those plugs, my yard is 100% weeds. If I use preemergent next spring, will I still get lateral spread from the St Augustine? Right now they feel almost smothered in the middle of a sea of weeds lol. Iβm in Zone 7b, Oklahoma.
I've been seeing this in a few localized spots across the lawn. Can anyone with experience tell me what this is and how I can slow it down? https://i.imgur.com/voYewGP.jpg
Is this quackgrass or St. Augustine grass? Im located in central Florida. https://imgur.com/a/OtOPbsP
I have a few different grass types in my lawn, and this is sprouting up in a dead area. Im not sure if its St. Augustine or Quackgrass. How do you tell the difference?
I have a St Augustine yard but portions of the yard dont do well due to a lot of shade from a mix of the house and large trees. I would like to overseed these areas with a grass that will blend in reasonably well with my existing grass (so not the fescue shade mix sold at home depot). Looking for options and recommendations on what grass seed I should use?
I have a bit of a salad in my in-progress lawn. Its a mix of weeds, bermuda grass, st augustine grass, and bahia grass. I've been trying to find a selective herbicide that will work on the weeds but wont kill any of the grass types (I simply don't have enough ground cover at the moment to kill any of the grasses). 2,4-d isn't labeled for bahia grass and isn't the best for st augustine, celsius cant be used on bahia grass, atrazine cant be used on bahia grass or bermuda, blindside isn't labeled for use in bahia grass, etc. I see that "lawn weed killer with trimec" is labeled for all three, but specifically says not to use on floratam or st. augustine in Florida. Unfortunately, i am in central FL.
I look around a bit online and think I've identified Bermuda grass invading my lawn. Right now most of St. Augustine is still greening, but I also have this darker more matte green grass which is present. Last year I had it and it left its dead runners which you can see in the second picture I have linked. They're thinner runners than St. Augustine. Is there a way to fix this or is it really difficult and not worth the struggle? Also, this bermudagrass does not look like the seeded type most lawns have, definitely has more of a weed feel. Is it a different species of Bermuda?
Also, ignore the awful look of my lawn. I'm still trying to get it in shape but the St. Augustine is not cooperating the best!
My lawn is very dense and high. Iβm trying to lower the hight. Before I do so, can I thatch St. Augustine grass? It is a vine like grass. And if I did, will it help me to achieve my goal. What will happen. Or is there any other solution? And what time of the year should I attempt this. Thank you
Location: Central Florida
St. Augustine grass with dirt patches. I was told that I can just put lots of top soil over it and it will grow back in a few weeks.
Can I just dump Scotts Turf Lawn Soil over it and water it everyday? It's Florida winter now. It's a bit cold but not freezing.
Update 1: Thank you for the replies. I have added some pictures of my lawn: https://imgur.com/a/fWfgVwv
Bought new home this year and Iβm in the final stages of putting an in ground pool. Unfortunately, with the use of heavy machinery and excavation leaving clay, my yard is ruined.
Currently, thereβs a pretty big section of my yard that now has about 2-3 inches of mud/clay on top of the old grass. The landscaper who is putting st Augustine down said he wonβt be removing grass that currently has 2-3 inches of mud. Instead he plans to fix the grade, then put top soil or compost down, and then sod.
Iβm worried because Iβve read that you canβt put sod on top of existing grass. But is having 2-3 inches of mud then topsoil would work around the issue, or Is this going to cause a lot of trouble down the road with fungus?
Thanks!
I'm in South Florida (Palm Beach County) with 10A St. Augustine grass and used Image for St. Augustine and murdered most of the weeds back in October 2020

How do I breathe life back back into my lawn?
Hi! There are four bold or grey spots on the St. Augustine lawn like these two:
First, I came across this product: EZ Patch for St. Augustine. Second, I heard people mix Zoysia with St. Augustine. I saw Zoysia Grass Seed that can be purchased. What is the best way to repair such bold or grey spots on St. Augustine lawn? Thank you.
