A list of puns related to "Sidereal time"
who am i *explodes*
okay so like which one is real. do i talk to an astrologer??? im so lost
I tested some formulas that I found on the internet but with none of them I found a satisfactory result, especially when I compare the result with software like Stellarium. Any research sources to solve this problem?
As the title suggests I'm wanting to build a Sidereal that can more or less punch through time. Basically, I want to be Hit from DBZ. I'm new to Exalted so I don't know everything about it and could use the help.
Any ideas?
Has anyone checked for him/herself that effect discovered in the Cognitive Sciences Laboratory?
What has been your personal experience using LST during sessions? I downloaded the app that shows me the time and I understand that the time of 13.5 is optimal. Please share your experiences!
Hi everyone,
At 13:30 h local sidereal time (LST), data shows that one would has 400 percent greater success remote viewing. At this time, our planet is oriented with the Milky Way so that the galactic center is located directly on the horizon. This daily period of peak psychic cognition lasts for about three and a half hours, from 12:45 to 14:15 h LST. When the center of the galaxy is directly overhead, or at our zenith, psychic cognition drops to its lowest point, between 17.5 and 20 h.

I created an Local sidereal time app. It will calculate your LST based on your current location. The pro version has lots of other features. Please take a look.
I know what it is Iβm just wondering if anyone knows where it got itβs name? Sorry if this is the wrong sub.
Here is the code I am using: https://pastebin.com/ZPGQ77qj
I got the pseudocode from https://astronomy.stackexchange.com/a/21004 and adapted it to C# for use.
I'm not sure if I did something wrong with converting the pseudocode to real code, or what, but here is what I am seeing: https://imgur.com/dsJGaP9
According to http://eco.mtk.nao.ac.jp/cgi-bin/koyomi/cande/gst_en.cgi I am off by almost 4.5 hours (image proof: https://imgur.com/IJ1sqjI).
Comparing to http://eco.mtk.nao.ac.jp/cgi-bin/koyomi/cande/date2jd_en.cgi I know that my Julian Date calculation is fine (image proof: https://imgur.com/O7KmXXR).
I would appreciate any help figuring out where I went wrong and what I should do to fix it.

Package deals would be rad. Will ship Priority Mail Flat Rate. I'd also trade Super Mario Odyssey for Sol or Sidereal.
personally, i find my sidereal chart much more accurate (like, scary accurate) and it's always what i go off of, but i've talked to others who say it's the complete opposite for them and they much prefer tropical time. why is this the case? has there been any research or theorizing into it? it's just always piqued my curiousity, i'd love to hear answers from people who know more than i do, haha.
I'm back with another math question. I've been trying to expand my calculator to work on three dimensions, but the single-point equation I got for inclination and ascending node requires a few⦠extra things.
First, it requires latitude and longitude. That's easy: Slap a surface scanner module onto the spacecraft and call it a day.
But then it also needs Local Apparent Sidereal time, in order to convert the geographic latitude and longitude the module gives into celestial lat/long.
Only one problem: I can't figure out how to determine that. While I have thought of a few ideas (Like parking something at the geostationary altitude such that it hangs above the prime meridian, then measuring the Game time when the vernal equinox's noon comes around), but are there any simpler ways to do it? Or better yet, is there a way in stock KSP to figure out celestial latitude and longitude without needing sidereal time and geographic latitude and longitude?
Hello, first of all, I'm sorry if this post isn't in the appropriate sub.
So, I've been gifted a watch that tells me exactly the sidereal time. I know that the sidereal time is the time which the earth rotates on itself and doesn't account for the rotation around the sun. I know that it is about 4 minutes less than the solar day.
BUT how can I use this timing to my advantage? I have a telescope and like to gaze upon nebulae, etc. I've heard that the sidereal time will tell me exactly when to look for an object. But how?
Thanks!
EDIT: For future seekers of the answer. Check out this great, great explanation

Hello guys, so here's the deal. I've been a big fan of Exalted for years, I've played Solars, Abyssals, Lunars, Dragon Blooded even Infernals, but I have yet to play as a Sidereal. Now I have an Exalted game coming up soon, and we're introducing new players into the system, the GM knows I've got good knowledge of the system and it's setting, so he wants me to play as a Gold Faction Sidereal so that I could help and advice the new characters out of character and in character. The premise of the game is about a small kingdom looking to form an alliance of sorts between Dragon Blooded and Solars to able to combat neighboring threats, and here I come to help recruit the potential allies.
What kind of stuff should I look out for as a Sidereal, what would be a good general build to support the other Solar and Dragon Blooded players (in terms of charms, backgrounds, etc.)? I have in mind to play a sort of Nick Fury type of character, a hardened soldier trying to put together a group of extraordinary people to work for a single cause, and I could use any kind of advice on how to approach this concept mechanically.
I can't seem to figure it out on my own so I'm coming to ask here, for caste/auspicious abilities, is it instant training time or not? I can't find anywhere where it details this. Second Edition also, just to clarify.
Hello everyone, I've been playing Exalted for about five years now(mostly Solars) and my group is starting a new campaign. Our ST rarely restricts exalt types so our party is often diverse, but we never really see any Sidereals. I'm planning to play a Chosen of Endings using their martial art style. I've gone through the book and errata pretty thoroughly and I'm more or less understanding things, but I'd like to get a bit more advice since Sidereals can be pretty complex to build and play.
Are their any charms/abilities/artifacts/hearthstones/colleges/ect that are must have or at least pretty helpful? Is there anything that looks good on paper, but less useful in play and vice versa? T
Thanks for any advice you can give.
So I'm working on a story that takes place at the beginning of the 31st century and I'm looking into information about the Earth's precession. I'm wondering when according to the Gregorian calendar the equinoxes and solstices will fall. Because I know that the difference between a tropical and a sidereal year is about 20 minutes, meaning that they occur about 20 minutes earlier every year. Does that mean that the people of the 31st century will see the summer solstice happen on June 7th? Or does the Gregorian calendar cover that?
Hi:
The title says it all. It seems to make sense to me, but some nagging voice in me is saying that I've overlooked something.
[EDIT] I should say right ascension in hours, minutes and seconds.
[EDIT] I should also say that by transit, I mean crossing the meridian.
Thank you!
I can calculate LMST (local mean sidereal time) from GMST (greenwich mean sidereal time) and my local longitude. Those numbers check out fine, but when I attempt to obtain the constellation at right ascension (LMST in degrees), the value isn't correct. I've searched without any luck - what calculations am I missing?
Thanks in advance.
edit: cosmic nerds love cats, right? where do the astrophysics nerds hang out here? in return for this answer I offer you /r/simplerockets - build your own craft and fly the smuniverse. fun stuff. TIA
