A family member recently moved in with me while they are recovering from illness. He takes a daily injectable medication using tiny pen needles. Legally you can’t just throw them in the trash, so I’ve been collecting them. The box is full and I can’t find anywhere to dispose of them. Apparently there are drop boxes at police stations but they’re closed due to Covid. The City of San Diego let’s you drop them off by appointment only, next appointment is mid June.
Sharps/needle users, where are you disposing needles in San Diego? I really want to do the right thing and dispose of them properly, but I didn’t realize it would be so challenging!
This is a weird question, but the medical issues in our house mean we generate a small amount of medical waste every month. It gets sealed in a red "Sharps" box and PREVIOUSLY was just swapped out at the pharmacy, they'd take the full one, give back an empty one. Nominal fee involved, no fuss, no muss.
Well NOW, nobody is doing a sharps exchange anymore. Not Fred Meyer, CVS, Walgreens, nobody. The last pharmacy that was doing it, McCann's, is shutting down entirely. Their pharmacy business is already shut down, they're open for durable medical stuff only.
Waste Management will take the full containers for disposal, but there's no way to get a new, empty one to replace it through them.
So has anyone else run into this? I'm guessing under ballot Measure 110, there will be a sudden large need for needle disposal. Ours are just for insulin.
Also, are there limited gems in the game or can you farm them?

Throw away account. Former drug user, heroin and steroids. Clean for over 18 months. Kicked out my junkie roommates, renovated house, got a great job, made some awesome progress in general.
Last remnants of my old life is a large rubbermaid tote filled with needles and syringes, used, some unused. I see it everytime I pull out of my garage. Where can I drop it off judgement free? Do I have to wait for a special day? I wouldn't mind driving a distance if I had to. I just want it gone safely.
So my mom had a disconcerting experience at an orthopedist. I'm not sure if his is the appropriate place but here goes:
when she went into the exam room, there was a needle on the counter filled with what she assumed was knee fluid from a previous patient sitting on the counter. When she confronted the PA about it they apologized and threw it in the trash(not a sharps bin). Is this something that should be reported and who would it go to? I told her to leave the doctor because that didn't seem like an even remotely acceptable practice.

I just tried hash for the first time, I picked up a gram from a dispensary (I live in Canada). I'm not experienced with hash so I don't know the ideal method of smoking it. Do you just sprinkle some on your weed in a bowl? Or roll it in a joint? How do you graft it finely?
