A list of puns related to "Rockin' in the Free World"
Back in '97 or '98 I picked up a bootleg Pearl Jam CD while abroad in south america. It had the MTV Unplugged set as well as some various other song, including Rockin in the Free World. And that version was the best version that i've ever heard. Here's the thing:
It builds slowly. The first verse starts with just one guitar picking the notes and Eddie singing. It starts very slow and sounds really ominous. Then the drums start slowly beating, picking up steam until the whole band joins in right after Eddie sings "...so I try to forget it any way I can (YEAH!)" Since I bought the CD back in '97 or '98, it obviously would've been recorded prior to then.
All of the versions that I've heard since (and there are many, many versions on various live albums) just have the whole band jumping in from the get go. But all of those pale in comparison to that ominous slow-building version from all those years ago.
So anybody by chance know what I'm talking about?
Wow Lincoln handled this really professionally. And honestly as an alumni it was very disappointing to see all the students leave literally when we have been BEGGING for a non 11am kick off and the fans rather than get hype with the team, decide to leave to bars to home or to whatever before the 3rd even ends.
Itβs not a new thing we lost half the student crowd in a one score bedlam when I was in the stadium not too long ago.
