A list of puns related to "Reed Mathis"
The opening reminds me of a slower version of 'These Days' by Nico.
Very useful if you are trying to emulate Wes Anderson.
SSIA. A pretty amazing line-up playing a lot of Dead as well as other music. Linkage: https://www.facebook.com/TheArdmoreMusicHall/
Jon Fishman will be speaking and and Mike Gordon will be "virtually sitting in" with Reed Mathis. Watch by donating to HeadCount or checking your voter registration at DemocracyComesAlive.com
Chimenti is awesome in this performance. Shame I can't find the rest of the show. Him and Kimock seem meant to play together.
This should be a ton of fun. Wish I could make it. Check this group out. They will be playing a bunch of Dead Tunes among others.
Reed is mostly known for Tea Leaf Green, a funky jam band, where he plays bass, but run through an octave pedal to a second amp which he frequently uses to outshred their guitarist with some ridiculous lead lines. Anyway, he's probably my favorite bass player and I figured you guys would get a kick out of this jam.
They played 2 shows, one in Philly then one in NYC after the D&Co set. I haven't heard too much about that second one yet.
But the first one seems to have had some great stuff. This article on the first show somehow omits the fact that Fareed Haque sat in for most of the show on guitar:

Fareed is the guitar player from Garaj Mahal. If you've ever seen him you know that he's one of the best players alive, without any exaggeration, and perhaps the most technically skilled player ever involved in the "jam band" scene. He learn all of the GD material right before playing each tune! Check out his jam on the end of Crazy Fingers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fr8-8epbA8E
Now I don't like the cheesy slowdown ending with the vocalist (who is otherwise fine) but that's pretty incredible for never having touched the material before.
Here's an article on the NYC show, haven't spun the videos yet http://liveforlivemusic.com/news/watch-members-of-billy-the-kids-dopapod-more-perform-unique-takes-on-the-grateful-dead
