A list of puns related to "Recombination (cosmology)"
Taiwan CDC estimated at end of 2018 that there are 37,917 individuals infected with HIV in Taiwan. It's a small number in the overall population, but the infection is very high in Taiwan brothels where drugs and sex trade mix.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recombinant_virus
The HIV virus itself is thought to be a product of viral recombination. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2935100/
This suggests that HIV virus recombining with an existing Covid strain in Taiwan is very likely to occur, or have already occurred.
I have heard a lot of good things about this band and I am curious where you think I should start in there discography. If this helps I listen to a lot of Car seat Headrest, The strokes, Elliot Smith, My Bloody Valentine, and Tyler the Creator.
More specifically this part:
>According to AαΈ₯sΔΚΎΔ«, existence is entirely good. Nevertheless, a sharp, almost Manichean division between good and evil, truth and falsehood exists. When God created universal reason (al-ΚΏaql al-kollΔ«), the first of the spiritual existences, He immediately brought its opposite, universal ignorance (al-jahl al-kollΔ«), into being. AαΈ₯sΔΚΎΔ« rejected the view that darkness is merely the absence of light and in itself nonexistence, on the grounds that God had created it.
>
>The imams are created from light, their enemies from darkness, and all others from a mixture of the two. Man is formed of reason and ignorance, having two βmirrorsβ within him, one facing reason, the other ignorance. As representations of good, the imams are in a state of perpetual confrontation with their counterparts, the βimams of errorβ. Heaven was created from love of the imams, hell from hatred of them. This division of the world between the forces of affirmation and denial came to play a major role in the cosmological system of theΒ BΔb.
and this:
> AαΈ₯sΔΚΎΔ« presents an original doctrine of resurrection based on the theory that man is possessed of four bodies, two Η°asad and two Η°esm. The first Η°asad (al-Η°asad al-ΚΏonαΉ£orΔ«) is the body of flesh, made up of terrestrial elements subject to the ravages of time. It resembles a garment put on and later cast off, and in itself it knows neither enjoyment nor suffering, fidelity nor rebellion. It is not, in reality, part of man at all. After death it returns to the elements from which it is composed and will not be recombined. The second Η°asad (al-Η°asad al-bΔqΔ«) is a spiritual body and is the reality of man; it is composed of the elements of HΕ«rqalyΔ, the interworld or barzaαΈ΅ between the material world and the realm of malakΕ«t, and survives the dissolution of the body of flesh and the separation from it of all accidental matter. It can not be seen by men because of the opacity of their physical eyes. In this body men are returned to life in the resurrection and enter paradise or hell. When EsrΔfΔ«l blows the trumpet at the resurrection, the spirits of men will return to the second Η°asad, which will then rise from the tomb.
This week want to start having a look at the new faction techs and I start with a wall to bash my head against. Genetic recombination, the Mahact faction tech, is an interesting tech as it affects the agenda phase, quite unusual pre-PoK. But with Precognitive Intelligence there are now two techs that affect this phase of the game. As usual, the card text:
Genetic Recombination G1
You may exhaust this card before a player casts vote; that player must cast at least 1 vote for an outcome of your choice or remove 1 token from their fleet pool and return it to their reinforcements
So in essence it allows the user to force a player to vote in a certain direction, unless the target is willing to remove a token from his command pool. This optional choice itself makes GR hard to use. You can surely force a player to give you one vote in a certain direction if he does not care about the result, but for really important agendas, the target will just remove the token. So we can assume the GR is not a reliable way to do anything. Do we have other techs that are not reliable to help you? Actually yes. Neural Motivator could give you only bad cards, Scanlink could only reveal useless explorations, Dark Energy Tap as well. The difference is, that those techs are unreliable because of the card decks, there is not human choice involved. That makes GR special, as you have to assume to always get the worst outcome for you. And to top it off: People do not like being put into a hard choice, so you won't make many friends using this tech. But I like walls, so lets start bashing.
Technicalities
Timing Windowbefore we talk about anything else, we have to clarify the timing problems GR has. It uses the very unique timing window of "before" casting votes. That means you have to announce the use of GR before the target announces how they would vote. The good thing is, that abstaining is not a way to circumvent GR, the bad thing is...
An Example: Its your targets turn and they immediately announce "I vote 5 on X". Now the table has a problem because your window of "before casting votes" has been skipped (understandable because nothing else uses it) but going back would be a case of ankleshooting as you now have information you did not have before. (How your target would vote)
The correct way would be for each player asking you "You want to use GR?" before saying anything else. This leads to the next problem:

Not every story connects or is relevant to the grand design of the cosmology, but in general the writings of both authors all take place in their own extended universe.... but which is bigger?!
The universes (or whatever) of the two authors collide and form a holistic composite. Which writer's creations sit on top? Gan and Pennywise and Cthulhu and Azathoth and Randall Flagg and exaggerated Houdini all exist together.
Round 1: What's the most dangerous or powerful entity on Earth in this universe? Something with physical form.
Round 2: In the entire composite fictional verse? The most powerful entity in the composite King/Lovecraft-verse?
As of right now, raid weapons are just legendary weapons, thats it. Please make more perks that are unique and can only be used on raid weapons, it seperates them from normal legendaries in a better way.
I learned from my uncle Pete who swore by the Krummeling-Boehner method.
Also Nils Flemmentaler's crew in Breisgau still run manual KB calibrations for subcritical recombination.

I'm going to summarize the cosmological world outlined by the Qur'an in this post. I'll mostly be relying on this paper;
Tabatabai & Mirsadri, "The QurΚΎΔnic Cosmology, as an Identity in Itself", Arabica (2016).
Also, keep in mind that one example of pre-Islamic Arabic poetry is also known which discusses cosmology and uses similar terms and phrases as does the Qur'an;
Dimitriev, Kirill. "An Early Christian Arabic Account of the Creation of the World" in (eds. Neuwirth et al.) The Qur'an in Context: Historical and Literary Investigations into the Qur'anic Milieu (2010), pp. 349-388
Qur'anic cosmology can be seen as continuous but also in some ways a modification of Mesopotamian cosmology. The most important aspect of Qur'anic cosmology is the juxtaposition between the heaven (all seven of them) and the Earth. The notion of the seven heavens follows ancient cosmology very closely. For example, in a Christian document written between the end of the 1st century and the early 3rd century known as the Ascension of Isaiah, the prophet Isaiah is depicted as experiencing an angel-assisted journey through the seven heavens. But in the Qur'an, it's not just the heavens and the earth. Sometimes it's the heavens and the earth and "all that is in between them" (e.g. Qur'an 5:18; 15:85; 19:65; 21:16; 25:59). So the Qur'anic universe is tripartite. The biblical universe is similarly tripartite, although not in exactly the same way: "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth" (Phil. 2:10). The "under the earth" is probably the underworld. (To be fair, there is one exceptional verse in the Qur'an which refers to a region below the surface - Qur'an 20:6. Per Qur'an 39:21, this region, as in Mesopotamian cosmologies, appears to be where water is stored.) So, what can we say about each of the three parts of the Qur'anic universe?
The uppermost part is the (seven) heavens. This is where God resides (Qur'an 67:16-17). God also sits on a throne in the heavens (Qur'an 7:54; 10:3; 13:2; 20:5; 25:59; 32:4; 57:4). As for the seven heavens, they are superimposed on each other as layers (71:15). The lowest of the seven heavens is "adorned with lights (masΓ€bih: Kor 41,12; 67,5), the sun and the moon (Kor 71,16; 78,13), the stars (Kor 37,6; 41,12; 67,5), and the constellations (burug Kor 15,16; 25,61; 85,1)" (pg. 215). It seems that these heavens have a body of water above them, as Qur'an 11:7 says that God's heavenly t
... keep reading on reddit β‘I do a lot of work in the high dose range of psilocybin mushrooms (7 - 10 grams P. Cubensis). Below is my understanding of the various realms of the DMT cosmology. I hope it is useful to you.
From a shamanic perspective (or Jungian for that matter), the realms we travel in are divided into "Under World", "Middle World" and "Upper World".
Under World: This is where most journeys begin. After traveling through a geometric portal, you will end up in a space. The space is usually dark and earthy feeling, often a cave or room. Here you will meet your spirit animal(s) and/or spirit guide(s). You receive healing of mind and body here, as well as guidance as to how to proceed in the Middle World.
Middle World: This is where we live in normal states of consciousness. It is inhabited by spirit beings, as well. [Here's a fun test. When you have open eyed visuals of entities (eyes, faces, etc.), try closing your eyes and you will notice they are no longer there. Open them again and the entity is still there. These visuals are separate and apart from closed eye visuals.]
Upper World: This is where the "light beings" reside. In my experience, a high dose mushroom journey, especially accompanied by "ego death", will take you there. The place is distinctly different. Visuals in the portal are more "DMT-like". Once there, entities will often chat with you. The space is domed and heavily geometric.
That's the cosmology I work with, and it helps explain a lot of my early journeys on lower doses vs higher doses. I hope you can use this to better understand your own journeys.
Peace & love to you all... Safe journeying.
For example, I read and hear that in the early universe only radiation existed and all of the forces emerged later as the environment changedβ¦ does anything remotely close to this happen under any circumstances anymore? Nuclear detonation, supernova, colliding black holes, anything? I can read and understand the words of explanations geared to laymen like myself, but I still have a hard time wrapping my head around inflation, creation of forces, photon and particle βbirth.β Or, is the creation of the universe is so unique that nothing comes close to comparing and trying to do so is futile?
Basically the title. Graviton Lance has been my favorite weapon since it's introduction and it always bugged my when the Cosmology perk wont proc on some enemies. The gun really needs some love...
I appears that the texts of the 'gnostic' tradition is mostly filled with cosmological explanations or sayings and discourses. Are there any that feature a narrative similar to the four canonical gospels?
The only ones that I've found which come close are the Gospel of Mary, Thomas, and Judas (and whichever one features some of those two seeing visions) but those are mostly just discourses being told to the attributed disciple without any narrative of deeds or events.

Different cultures around the world have assigned different characteristics to stars. The Ancient Greeks believed them to be mortals who were deemed worthy of a position in the heavens, the early Semites said that they were part of the sky firmament, early Turkic peoples believed them to be tears in the tent that made up the sky, what do your people think the stars are? What is their function in their society snd culture?

Please read the sidebar and remember to follow reddiquette.
The whole Big Bang idea stems from observed cosmological redshift by Edwin Hubble way back in the 1920's.
Redshift made it look like everything in the Universe was moving away from us. So either we're the center of the Universe, or the entire universe is expanding, or there's something else that explains the redshift.
As far as I can tell, Hubble either preferred the expanding universe explanation or was unable to come up with any plausible alternatives.
So if the universe is expanding as we go forward in time, that implies contraction if you go backward. Since you can't have infinite contraction, there has to be an origin point in spacetime (if space actually is expanding).
But spacetime means that any movement equals an equivalent movement in time (where C is the "clock"). Since space and time are part of one thing, a difference in time can also be the equivalent of a difference in distance.
Simple reflexive logic...
If Ξ T = Ξ D (with C as a constant)... Ξ D = ΞT
So light travelling across a certain duration of time between 2 fixed reference points which are not moving apart from each other is the equivalent of some amount of increase in distance. Since the speed of light is constant, redshift is the result.
tldr; Spacetime means you can have an appearance of movement (ie. an apparent increase in distance) because of the effect the passage of time has on light (or the way an observer will perceive the light)
As time passes, the light gets "stretched" and this is what causes redshift. This doesn't necessarily prove or disprove curvature though.
Imo Hubble was wrong and there's perhaps no way to know how old the Universe really is. If my explanation is correct, Hubble made the biggest cosmological mistake of all time.
Edit: If you think of E=MC^^2 in terms of an equilibrium equation, You can see units of energy (on the left) equal a combination of units of mass, distance and time (on the right). So the extra time that causes redshift must have an energy equivalent... and this is where the "missing energy" problem is solved.
Your light starts out with a given amount of energy, gets redshifted as it passes across spacetime between any 2 points in space (with zero relative velocity to each other). The increased duration of time (proportional to energy as per E=MC^^2 ) is reflected in the lower energy frequency wavelengths that result from redshift.
I hope this idea catches on because I think it's right.
Could the tech genetic recombination be used against the nekro virus in the agenda phase. This would mean that the nekro player has to sacrifice a fleet supply immediately as they don't have the choice to vote. On the other hand, it says before the player casts votes, but as the nekro player doesn't participate, there isn't really a 'before', so maybe it shouldn't be a viable target.
I guess that Genetic Recombination doesn't count as a "preventing effect", so Elder Qanoj is probably useless against it but wanted to quickly ask the community. What do you guys think about it?
Elder Qanoj (Xxcha commander): Game effects cannot prevent you from voting on an agenda.
Genetic Recombination (Mahact racial tech): You may exhaust this card before a player casts votes; that player must cast at least 1 vote for an outcome of your choice or remove 1 token from their fleet pool and return it to their reinforcements.
