A list of puns related to "Physical cosmology"
I'm looking for something light on math i.e. not mathematically rigorous at all, but goes into depth about physical cosmology, including big bang and GR. Recommendations?
I used the Wikipedia book compilation tool. Enjoy!
In the Elder Scrolls Universe, are there other inhabited planets? How many galaxies are there? Have any races achieved spaceflight?
My apologies if this is the incorrect forum. I looked for an AskCosmology and did not find one.
It's been a few years since I've taken any calculus classes so I've started brushing up. I found an old book I ordered when I was in middle school because I liked the name, but ultimately was never able to understand the equations. So, I've decided to take some online math courses (mainly through MIT opencourseware) and would like to know if anyone knows what math is required to understand the named text.
Obviously integral calc and I'm assuming linear algebra... anything else suggested? Should I take any physics courses?
Thanks Reddit!
My new game is released, it took 4 months to build and lots of bugs were delaying the game but its all fix.
The game is a visual novel with turn based system, it's the first of renpy engine to use a turn based system on an android. It continues the series where everything is left off with Ie and Thu appearing in volume 0 and reappearing again on volumes 1 and 2. Many of the characters in past volumes are back as a team with new characters. This game has many reference to space as well as the characters meanings of why they must live with powers.

From what I can work out from reading a variety of sources:
>Everything is Being. Since only Being exists, only it can be the object of thought.
This means that thought can only come from Being (as opposed to Not-Being, which doesn't exist). But if thought can only come from Being, does that mean it can't exist by itself? ie. thought can't exist if being doesn't exist first?
Since we know that we think, Parmenides argues that Being exists. So Being gives rise to thought.
But also, Being is limited to a sphere and is finite. So how does thought come into existence without deleting something else? Or is thought not a part of Being?
Im an Astrophysics undergrad student and I decided I want to pursue Cosmology for my graduate studies. I switched my program a semester ago to have a math minor to support this, and because I was unsure, I took statistics and probabilities courses as a way to start (For reference I have Linear Algebra, Calc 1,2,3 and currently enrolled in a math course that focuses on differential equations). My university doesnt have any information on which courses/subjects you should get into in order to follow Cosmology. So i wanted to reach out to make sure my electives/free time is not being wasted by things that will not help me for my Masters/PhD.
My main question is this: formally (a course I should look out for) or informally (I genuinely want to be prepared as possible so Im okay with self-study resources), what are the best subjects in Math (statistics, proofs, more grunt work calculus, etc.) or physics (theory, Data analysis, more kinematics, etc) should I be moving my focus over towards?
I have been able to find *what* it means to be a Cosmologist, but very little information on what specific courses/materials/content gets you there. Any help is much appreciated!
For example, I read and hear that in the early universe only radiation existed and all of the forces emerged later as the environment changedโฆ does anything remotely close to this happen under any circumstances anymore? Nuclear detonation, supernova, colliding black holes, anything? I can read and understand the words of explanations geared to laymen like myself, but I still have a hard time wrapping my head around inflation, creation of forces, photon and particle โbirth.โ Or, is the creation of the universe is so unique that nothing comes close to comparing and trying to do so is futile?
