A list of puns related to "Radial tire"
Horsepower, suspension, aerodynamics, brakes... common modifications many enthusiasts do to their street car. However, the most important element often remains untouched as the driver is cruising around with a 6 year old set of bald all-seasons hanging on for life. Of course, we are talking about tires.
People who make a living in motorsport, or motorsport fans, know the importance of tires and NASCAR is no different. At a track like Darlington, a back marker can come out of the pits on fresh tires and pass the leader with ease. How much time and development would the same back marker team need to accomplish that through increased power, better suspension, better aero, etc.? It isn't happening overnight. But "four fresh Goodyears" can get you there easily.
What if you could have a secret set of superior tires to bolt onto your car to get an advantage over your competition without having to work on your race car at all? Sounds too good to be true! But, something similar was happening on the NASCAR circuit in 1954 and again in the late 1980s.
Between 1948 and 1954 Firestone was the sole supplier of NASCAR tires. In 1954, Goodyear decided it would like to try it's hand at the sport. For the next two decades, both tire companies duked it out until Firestone left NASCAR in 1974. We won't spend too much time here, but after 14 years of Goodyear being unchallenged on the tire front, another storm was brewing.
A little-known Indiana based company named Hoosier entered the sport in 1988. Teams soon learned the Hoosier tires were softer and grippier while the Goodyears were more durable. Goodyear publicly acknowledged they had been caught napping, and quickly went back to the drawing board to design a better tire. As a result of ongoing one-upping, sometimes the tires got too aggressive to the point were it became unsafe. The most notable of these incidents was during the 1988 Coca-Cola 600. Goodyear withdrew their tires after practice when it was discovered that their compound was too soft for the track.
Up to this point, all teams were using what's known as a bias ply tire. This type of tire utilizes body ply cords that extend diagonally from bead to bead, usually at angles in the range of 30 to 40 degrees, with successive plies laid at opposing angles forming a crisscross pattern to which the tread is applied. This type of design allows the entire tire body to flex easily, providing the main advantage of this constru
... keep reading on reddit β‘So my wife's 2006 Accord was pulling to the right while driving and I suspected either alignment, wheel bearing, or dragging brake. I compared the spinning of each front tire while on jack stands and they seemed somewhat the same so I pulled the pads off and cleaned/lubricated the assembly. Test drive...still pulling. Called my go-to garage to book an alignment and the desk manager asks me if I've moved the front tires to the rear as there is something called "radial drift" which can cause a car to pull one way or another...never knew this existed. The manager knows I can do some things so he suggested that I try moving the tires, but he booked me in for an alignment just in case it doesn't change. I didn't have much faith in what he suggested but I did it anyway...problem solved!! Car tracks straight with no pulling to the right whatsoever. A big thank you to all the folks who don't mind let a customer (with some mechanical abilities) to try some simple tricks to save on possible repairs. That's why that garage is my go-to...their approach shows caring and honesty. My experiences with them has also increased their customer base by at least 5 other friends and relatives. Heading over there with a $20 coffee card to thank him.
Not sure if anyone has experience or insight regarding GT Radial Adventuro ATX - Iβve been looking online at reviews and they sound promising. I know that Giti tires is a Singapore based company, however, have manufacturing plants in the states. Anyone tried them? Anyone have insight?

Everyone should have one of these kits in their car and know how to use it.
here is an overview of how these work :
This saved my bacon a few years ago when we got a flat, out camping very far from anyone cell signal etc. This got the tire fixed.
I have repaired a few tire leaks with these, good for fixing nail or screws that imbed in the tireβs rolling surface only. ( Will not work for side wall leaks , but I never tried)
Other note, if you have driven on a tire flat you many have destroyed the tire from the inside. So take the tire to pro. source :
Strange coincide but I used up the last rubber strip in my old kit yesterday, we got a screw in the front wheel this weekend.

Err, not trying to start any kind of flame war between fanboys and non-fanboys.
genuinely asking.
Getting new tires for an older car that is not a classic muscle car at all, so it's not that I need the sexy white lettering. it would be an interesting look though...
A set of four tires from kumho/goodyear/hankook/etc. is about $400 installed, and bf goodrich radials are $560 installed.
my needs are: using my minivan like a pickup truck, driving in wet weather, driving in summer weather.
things I don't need: mileage. I only drive 6000 miles a year, they'll rot before they ever go bald. snow: I live in hawaii.
thanks for your opinion! pulling the trigger in a week.
So, I will need to change the four tires in my beetle, currently it has diagonal tires, but I was thinking about getting some radials on it,
Anyone has experience with it?
My main doubt is if I will be able to keep those small white lines on the tires.
