JFR: Baa Baa Black Sheep by Gregory "Pappy" Boyington
This is a memoir by a marine pilot who was a Flying Tiger at the beginning of WWII and built a squadron from scraps after the US entered the war.
The author was a brash, high-functioning alcoholic, who managed to down more than 25 enemy aircraft before being shot down himself and taken prisoner, assumed dead by the US until the end of the war some two years later.
I found the book to be interesting, and probably would have enjoyed it more had I read it in my less mature years. I give it a solid three stars.

This is a memoir of the ace WW II pilot who built a squadron from scraps to fight the Japanese. It is the inspiration for the television series of the same name (I think the syndication version is called Black Sheep Squadron)
