A list of puns related to "Ophidiophobia"
Just gonna get to the point.
So I have ophidiophobia, an extreme fear of snakes, and I'm looking to learn about them and learn how to survive them without seeing any pictures of them. Are there any sites that give information on peoples' phobias without having to look at them?
Good afternoon,
I have a very strong case of ophidiophobia: I can't even watch movies such as Anaconda without being super stressed / on panic. I feel super unconfortable if someone arround be is wearing something made with snake's skin or copying it style. I don't have this problem with Cassiopeia, tho.
Today I was logged into my account when I saw on the preview of the channel, the page you will go 100% you open the client, that there is two snakes for the KDA trailer. I had a panic attack.
Is there any way to don't have to have this preview for default?
It's really hard to look up resources for treatment when the search results make you panic.
Hey guys this is more just a mini rant than an actual rant. I have ophidiophobia (fear of snakes) like just my luck when aespa wants to debut they give me black mamba LOL i thought it was gonna be some cute fun winx club song but no. Anyways im still really freaking excited the aesthetics and visuals of aespa are really next level and the song sounds pretty dope. BUT WHEN I SAW THAT SNAKE SLITHERING I omg help hahaha ππ
I hate the forbidden forest so much it is hell. I literally am just running panicking looking for the boss though I beat them first try because ik i could not go through the level again.
Iβm deathly afraid of snakes, I have almost run over my foot, I have screamed, I have ran approximately 10 miles an hour just to get away from them. But when they arenβt in a physical sense, they arenβt that scary. If I saw a picture of one, I probably wouldnβt scream, only get mildly uncomfortable. I also put a Python around my neck for some reason a few years ago. But thinking back on it thatβs hella scary and I couldβve died. Just because the mention or non-physical sight of snakes doesnβt scare me that bad mean I donβt have Ophidiophobia?
Why are snakeless countries so vehemently oposed to having snakes in their borders, even though other invasive species are somewhat well-tolerated? First example above all is New Zealand. New Zealand has a zero tolerance policy towards snakes. The whole country has no native or introduced snakes of any kind, apart of a few sea snakes that get stranded and are unable to leave due to cold temperatures. New Zealand does not allow importation or keeping of any snake for any reason. Private keeping of snakes is of course out of the question, but not even certified zoos can keep snakes. Requests even for single males from completely harmless species have been turned down. Supposedly snakes are a danger if they survive in the wild. New Zealand has a peculiar climate that most non adapted reptiles cannot stand though. Other species of lizards and turtles, mainly tropicals or of Australian extraction, are kept privately fine and no one has established itself neither it could. Meanwhile invasive mammals are ravaging the ecosystem but are not delt with as infectious agents. I don't mean that their populations are not managed by conservation authorities, but they aren't treated with the same revulsion. Also New Zealanders still are sticking to their dogs and cats fine. Other countries and territories are like that, although New Zealand stuck to me as the quintessential example. Hawaii doesn't allow most reptiles. I think not even zoos can have snakes there. Greenland does not allow snakes, but I may be mistaken on this. Iceland forbids any reptile surely, even though frankly speaking, introduced northern European reptiles would fare well there and enrich the ecosystem. Ireland is normal though and allows snakes and nearly everything else. Is it something about cool climate countries that make them knee-jerk more against reptiles? Does anybody else find those stances hypocritical? I don't perceive any valid concerns in this. When you are a professional zoo and ask to represent a snake and provide so many arguments that you are going to make it as safely as possible for the ecosystem and you are still getting turned down by the government, that isn't either logical or even intelligent. It is just our primitive fear of snakes disguised to fit the narative of the 21st century. What is next? A reptile ban in Alaska?
It was when my neighbor asked me to help him move a table that I realized he had an entire wall turned into a terrarium. He saw me being quite shocked and just said, βYep, thats my baby. Sheβs a blue coral snake, beautiful but deadly. Need to keep antivenom here so I donβt go into paralysis if she bites.β He thanked me for my help and I went back home.
A couple of weeks later I heard some weird noises from my neighbors apartment, so I went over to see if everything was alright. He opened the door a bit sweaty and nervous. βYou okβ I asked. βYeah sure, I just lost my......keys. Thanks for askingβ He said before shutting the door. I went back home, had myself a chill evening and fell asleep.
I woke up in the middle of the night with a feeling that I wasnβt alone. Before I could get up to check, I felt something biting my leg. Seconds after my muscles started cramping, it felt like I turned to stone while the snake crawled up my leg. The snake continued to linger up my body, I tried to grab it but I couldnβt move. The last thing I felt was the snake crawling into my mouth.
Hi all, as a part of a university project I am conducting a survey about what influences people's perceptions and experiences of pythons. If you have a fear of snakes (even if it is only mild) I would be really grateful if you had a look. Thanksssss (sorry for terrible pun).
Also I would love to hear any stories or thoughts about your experiences with pythons in the comments!
Hi there.
Iβve been living with extreme ophidiophobia for a while.
People like to taunt me by making hissing noises or running up showing pictures of snakes. Even the word snake itself can cause me to have strong trembling or fear. Itβs taken over my life!!
What can I do to help control it?
Before you suggest, no I will not be willing to take up one of those snake therapy courses.
A NARROW Fellow in the Grass
Occasionally rides β
You may have met him β did you not
His notice sudden is β
The Grass divides as with a Comb β
A spotted shaft is seen β
And then it closes at your feet
And opens further on β
He likes a Boggy Acre
A Floor too cool for Corn β
Yet when a Boy, and Barefoot β
I more than once at Noon
Have passed, I thought, a Whip lash
Unbraiding in the Sun
When stooping to secure it
It wrinkled, and was gone β
Several of Natureβs People
I know, and they know me β
I feel for them a transport
Of cordiality β
But never met this Fellow
Attended, or alone
Without a tighter breathing
And Zero at the Bone β
The sound of hissing pierced the silence, shattering it into many fragments and echoes. I looked back, astonished at the amount of snakes. They flowed throughout the ruins like a poison-tipped arrow, shot by the most pristine archer.
My friend talked about zoology quite frequently, so I knew what they were. Inland Taipans: one of the most venomous snakes in all of history.
My choices were very minimum. I couldn't jump off, as I was working very high in a construction site. I would just instantly die. So my only option was to pray for dear life.
I was running out of concrete to run on. And as I got closer to my demise, I could see the excitement glow brighter and brighter from the snakes. Closer, closer, yet closer, the ledge came. Until...
Suddenly, everything came to a halt. For some reason, all the snakes had stopped. I was alleviated. I really should of seen what was coming next.
The mass of snakes sliced into two groups. It was like they were trying to let something through.
---I was right.
A serpent, an omega serpent, slid through the path that were made by the snakes. It was clear now. They weren't trying to eat me, they were trying to capture me...
...And feed me to their queen...
It was time to die. The last thing I will ever, and always see is the creature fangs penatrate my chest as I squirm, desperately trying to free myself.
Hi Everyone. Iβd like to watch tiger king with my significant other who is terribly afraid of snakes. Iβm wondering if there is a way to find out when in each episode there is a snake scene so that we can avoid them. I checked the site βdoes the dog dieβ which compiles a list of movies with any snake scene whatsoever, but Iβm hoping for more detailed information.
Hello everyone. Next to spiders the fear of snakes (Ophidiophobia) is the second most common animal based phobia. While some people love the slithery animals many people would agree stumbling upon a coiled snake on a hike is enough to make anyone jump. However some out there have a overtly high sense of fear when it comes to snakes. It can range from a creepy feeling to just avoid them, all the way up to seeing red and tunnel vision fear from images on books or a hose filling with water whipping across the ground. While there are treatments for this phobia, that's not why I'm here. I am here to help you watch Tiger King while avoiding the frequent snakes seen on this show. Using this I helped my highly sensitive wife never see a snake the entire show. My methods were to watch the whole show muted at 2x speed to not spoil the story for me. When a snake appeared I would pause, watch at 1x speed, and make all the notes you see below. With this I guided her safely through and you can get yourself or your partner through too!
The basic outline will be an episode list. I will state roughly time the snake appears (Netflix is never 100% accurate when you freeze frame and try to get a time stamp). Then I will describe the scene in case it's something you think you can handle. I will tell you visual or audio cues to let you know when to close your eyes or look away. Then I will state an audio cue to give you the all clear. If you're watching with a partner or friends, they can help. If you're watching alone the audio cue is your best bet to be safely past the snake. Let's get started.
Warning: There may be some minor spoilers if you read through all of this, so I marked it as such. I need to give cues to help avoid the snakes, but I try my best not to give away story. Some audio cues may be a few moments after the snake is gone, not right to the second. This way you are 100% sure it's past and there may not have been other audio cues to use. Also there are several alligators in this show and at least one iguana. If you have a general fear of all reptiles I didn't mark those scenes. Apologies. Let's get started!

... keep reading on reddit β‘I know that most snakes are harmless but phobias are not rational and I have been a mess the past few hours. I live on the ninth floor and know a snake isnβt going to get in, but worry about walking home at night or walking my dog. It has been one of my biggest all time nightmares to ever encounter a snake in the βwildβ and I canβt believe it actually happened.
