A list of puns related to "NCAA Division I"
Hello there,
Link to the Complete "Circle of Suck"
Link to the "Circle of Suck" List
On Sunday /u/Ike348 gave us the list for the complete Division I Men's Circle of Suck since the last unbeaten team, SDSU, have lost. I followed up for the 2nd straight year by providing a visual of the list with team logos.
Again, I used a star instead of a circle. Why? A star has more surface area in less space than a circle otherwise the circle would be too large to view the team logos.
With San Diego State's loss last night to UNLV, every single D1 team has both at least one win and at least one loss against another D1 team, meaning theoretically that a complete circle of suck with all 353 teams is possible.
See other circles here:
So, without further ado, here is a circle for 2019-20!

>Schools will be able to offer less (or zero) aid or match what they provided this year. Up to each school for each athlete.
>NCAA says teams will be able to carry more members on scholarship to account for incoming recruits and student-athletes who had been in their last year of eligibility who decide to stay.
The wait is over. Four teams enter, one team leaves with a shiny trophy. Though looking at these matchups, is it just me or is there some strange deja vu going on here?
Eh, it's probably just me.

Regional Finals | 3-1 over Quinnipiac | 4-0 over Notre Dame |
National Semifinals | 4-1 over Providence | 4-3 (OT) over Denver |
#Quick Facts
This is the first ever meeting between the two teams.
Massachusetts is appearing in its first ever title game, coming off of a season featuring their first ever league regular season title and first ever Hobey Baker winner in Cale Makar.
Duluth is appearing in their third straight national title game, and is attempting to become the first team to win back to back titles since Denver in 04-05.
A Duluth win would be their third title overall. UMD is 2-2 all time in the championship game, with their other title coming in 2011 over Michigan.
A UMass victory would be the fifth first time champion this decade, following 2011 UMD, 2013 Yale, 2014 Union, and 2015 Providence. This would also result in a second consecutive national champion from Hockey East winning the NCAA title for the first time.
UMass is without F Bobby Trivigno following a suspension for a blindside hit to the head during the National Semifinal game vs Denver that went initially uncalled.

Hello to Redditors watching basketball! I am u/elefish92 and currently a statistics undergraduate student at San JosΓ© State. Fight on for dear old San JosΓ© State!
This self-project aims to compute rankings that reflect the best division I men's basketball programs based on march madness in the history of college basketball. The project reflects all march madness tournaments since the 1938-39 school year. Much of my motivation came from the recent discussion on the top programs in college basketball and my desire to practice in sports analytics.
This thread is divided into sections that probably interest you, ranging from rankings to methodology/data. I hope you have a fun time!
##Methodology/Data
Using data for all NCAA Tournaments in men's college basketball at the division I level, I assigned a value to each division I institution based on their performance. Recall that in golf and cross country that the teams with the fewest amount of points wins, which was collected based on each individual's place. The same scoring system was used here except with most points, due to the least points system causing some funky and questionable outcomes. Thus, the following values are:
There are no points given to those who managed to make the First Four, due to those institutions being borderline for the official bracket. In addition, additional points are given to those prior to the NCAA expansion, such as the 1939 NCAA Basketball Tournament starting with the Elite Eight. The computed rankings on Google by team and conference are based on a sum for all points associated with those two organizations.
This resulted in a huge database entry that was done in a week, with 1-2 hours of dedication each day. The database has multiple variables, ranging to the year of the tournament to the result of each team. The computation of pivot tables allowed inference to be much easier, and I wrote code that resulted in two sheets that gave the overall standings of teams and conferences.
**The open-source database can be found here. Find your team and the complete rankings for all inst

Hello there,
Continuing my series from last year I have returned with the new edition of Every New Logo From the Past Year, this time it's from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018. In my 6 day series I will cover all three divisions of the NCAA, the NAIA, NJCAA, and the remaining small colleges & universities.
For your pleasure, here is the 2016-2017 Album
In these albums you will see a collection of new brands and refreshed logos among all schools in Division I, not just football schools, from the past academic year. There will be ton of schools that you had no idea rebranded, most of the time I don't even know until months after their unveiling. Some are amazing and some are just meh. I hope ESPN and other news outlets are paying attention because I hate seeing old logos on TV and in website articles.
In each picture, usually in the upper center will be the new primary logo and at the bottom row, the left-most logo will be the previous identity and the remaining right-side are extra secondary logos. I try my best to provide information on when and why these new logos came about, and who created them. Please let me know if I missed anything from the past year, I try to review every school but some slip through the cracks.
FYI Last year's edition ended in August 2017 instead of July so some schools that I already covered appear again this week. However I removed them from the previous albums so you may not even know what I'm talking about.
Hope you enjoy, feel free to discuss & give critique about the new logos. Tomorrow I will cover Division II.
I've been working on this for some time now and thought I'd share it with all of you college sports fans. This map shows every NCAA Division I program as of this year. While I know other maps have existed previously, none of them were completely up-to-date, so I took it upon myself to create one. The only program that isn't included on the map is Hawaii (Sorry, Rainbow Warriors!) due to their location. While I know there might be some programs that are slightly off in location, it was extremely tough to place everybody exactly without any guidelines. I did my best, so cut me some slack if something is a few miles off!
One thing that still stands out to me is how distance there is between programs once you get west of Texas and east of the West Coast. There are plenty of programs on the eastern seaboard, especially around New England and the Mid Atlantic, but when you look at states like Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, and Nebraska, giant plots of land are without DI representation. It's wild to compare that to states like Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, New York, and Texas to see that giant contrast.
Anyways, enjoy!

Obviously Tua Tagovailoa is an easy pick as a championship-winning qb at Bama, but there could be a few other players edging him out for the spot.
