A list of puns related to "Moira Kelly"
How would you feel if they brought back Moira Kelly as Donna for season four of Twin Peaks?
I'm only asking because I doubt Laura Flynn Boyle will return to the role.
The only other actress I can see as a recast would be (I know I'm going to get a lot of flak for suggesting this) Winona Ryder.
So I doubt Kelly would turn down the role as she has mentioned in several interviews how she loves Disney and was excited to be in a Disney movie (which makes it rather sad the producers of TLG or the remake didn't seem to bother to learn her agent's phone number).
But what if the producers walked in and said "No, we need a star for our leading lady" back in the 90s. Then who can you see voicing her?
So MK was the best Donna.
Apologies if this was common knowledge and I was just living under a rock.
This might be controversial but a lot of people that shit on Mandy tend to blame Moira Kelly. But sure she definitely didnβt have chemistry like the rest of the cast had with each other, we should only blame her for that.
The character is inherently flawed, and seemed to be useless in the whole scheme of things pertaining to season one, but I blame Aaron more than Moira. I guess itβs the only critique of Aaronβs writing Iβll ever have. I donβt think he writes female characters well enough. I donβt think theyβre fleshed out enough or as complex as they should be, everything seems very surface level type development for some of his female characters. What helps him out is that Stockard Channing, Janney and Moloney are good enough actors to push by Aaronβs shortcomings that appear from time to time.
But the character of Mandy is completely one dimensional. Infact itβs kind of similar to Demi Mooreβs character in A Few Good Men, sure Demi was probably miscast but like Mandy her character is just a surface level one dimension character that tends to come off as a know it all that keeps the main characters in check. None of the other characters in the west wing are one dimensional caricatures like Mandy is, even the other female leads are written with more of a purpose than Mandy had. Moira essentially was dealt a bad hand. So letβs hate on Mandy all we want but understand that itβs not entirely the actressβs fault.
TLDR: I believe even though Mandyβs character was annoying much of the blame should fall on Aaron as thereβs only so much an actor can do with an inherently flawed character.
My husband has never seen The Lion King so we watched it this morning since itβs our sons first Easter. I got him hooked on OTH about a month ago. He turns to me and goes βthatβs Karen from One Tree Hillβ. And sure enough, all these years I NEVER knew Moira Kelly is the voice of Nala!!!!!!!!! I feel silly for never knowing! Lol
She has a very distinctive way she moves her mouth when she talks. It's very eye-catching. I'm having a tough time describing it and/or coming up with a comparison/metaphor. Thanks!
Rewatching and holy moly in the season 4 finale when Karen goes to see Dan in prison and tells him what sheβll say to her daughter one day when she grows up and asks where her dad is I HAVE CHILLS. What a scene. Phenomenal acting from both of them.
Even with how evil Dan is. I truly feel sorry for him in this scene. The remorse on his face and in his voice.
And the look on Moira Kellyβs face after she spits on the glass. Damn.
I was wondering whether there's any sort of consensus among fans on who was the better Donna?
While I thought Lara Flynn Boyle did a very good job in the original series, I never really liked the character of Donna that much; there always seemed to be something off about her. But then I saw FWWM and suddenly... something just kind of clicked. I finally "got" Donna, I felt like I had much more of an understanding of who she was, what she was all about. And while that is of course in large part due to the writing, a lot of credit also has to go to Moira Kelly - she brought a sweetness and an innocence to the role that hadn't been there previously. I absolutely loved Donna in that movie, and not only that, her arc in the series seemed to suddenly make a lot more sense as well.
So, in short, "my Donna" is Moira Kelly - she was phenomenal in FWWM.
On a related note: Apparently, Lara Flynn Boyle was asked to return for the new season, but refused and Donna was subsequently written out of the script. Does anyone know if they ever approached Moira Kelly about playing the role again? Because I haven't read anything about it and it seems like an odd oversight.
The movie is available on youtube and the murder is described brilliantly on My Favorite Murder podcast
Although brief (and unexpected), I dug her performance in FWWM. What are the fans' thoughts on Moira Kelly as Donna?
Iβm rewatching from the start for the 2nd or 3rd time since I first watched in 2020 and Iβve realized the main reason why I personally do not like Mandy. Of course, I donβt like her for most of the regular reasons but I think Iβve also realized that it feels like sheβs the only one thatβs acting. With every other actor on the show, I feel that they truly are their characters but she is so lifeless and feels like sheβs just reading her lines from a teleprompter. Has anyone else noticed this? Forgive me if this has been a topic of discussion before and not trying to be hateful towards Moira Kelly- I just donβt think she fit the caliber of the show and I am always relieved when sheβs gone lol thag is all
