A list of puns related to "Modelling clay"
Anyone know of a store that sells modeling clay? I know the dollar store sells it but im lookin for larger containers of the stuff.
I'm looking to get some clay for some models. I know that Polymer clay is usually the way to go, but I've found it surprisingly difficult to find good clay, in decent quantities, online. Where do you usually go to buy clay? (preferably UK)
Crafsman has several times stressed the importance of sulphur-free modelling clay. I assume it messes with the curing of the silicone or something. Since watching Crafsman for a couple of weeks, I've wanted to try some of the casting so I dropped into hobby lobby. The only clay labelled as sulphur-free was a non-hardening one. Are any unlabelled ones known to be sulphur free or am I going to have to order online?
I ended up grabbing some kato polyclay to practice with which is fine, I'm more used to working with ceramic clay which is a bit of a different beast.
I'm using monte mart's air-drying (24h) white clay. (You can find it among others on this page.)
How can I find what material it is made of?
Finding this would give me a better idea of the material's properties, how it'll behave with water/oil/solvents etc.
Right now I have the specific problem that I don't know how to best join two pieces. Apparently a bit of water isn't helping, but too much of it dissolves away the clay from the pieces.
