A list of puns related to "Kato Polyclay"
Hey guys. Iβm new to polymer clay, and I started a project with white Kato Polyclay. I know that painting polymer clay, even after baking, is tricky, and I was wondering if anyone had tips about how to paint this stuff before I get further into the project.
My intention is just to paint it completely white and maybe clear-coat that with some kind of matte paint.
Advice like brands to use and when to paint would be much appreciated. :)
Hello, so I have just started to make earrings from polymer clay and Iβve decided to use KATO because itβs the only one thatβs vegan and this is really important to me (besides Das Smart, but I have a lot of KATO right now and I have to use it somehow). This clay doesnβt really come in many different colors like FIMO, for example, and I quickly realized Iβm going to have to mix some colors myself. Not an easy task with KATO, but I did it and some colors turned out very nice and I was very happy about them. But then when I baked some earrings made out of those mixed colors, bubbles would form inside the clay. And that happened even before I started baking. Can someone please tell me how I can solve this? Because I really canβt use only the colors that are available, thatβs just boring.
Ordered some Kato clay on-line after reading good things about it. I already expected it to be very hard and the shower curtain smell. I didn't expect it to just crumble like cornbread.
Even after multiple passes through the pasta machine there's still a lot of crumbling.
I found hand working very small amounts like pea-size balls for a good while in the fingers would make it malleable.
Is this how it always is or did I maybe receive some that was too old or stored poorly?
Iβve been trying to order liquid Sculpey in clear as opposed to translucent, but itβs really hard to find and expensive. Iβve seen Kato seems to be a better price/bigger bottles available. What Iβm trying to find out is is it actually clear and not translucent? I can find comparisons between the brands but they all seem to be between translucent sculpey and they just say kato liquid polyclay not specifically βclear.β Can someone tell me what brands are available and do they dry clear? I loved the idea when I found out it was available in clear, because I canβt use resin for anything because of allergies/smell. Obviously you probably are not going to use liquid polymer clay for huge thick pieces because of expense, but for thin jewelry it would be great. Thanks
I bought a few packs of kato today and Iβm about to just return the unopened ones. I donβt see how I condition it. Itβs SOOO crumbly. I was messing around with it for an hour and gave up. Anyone have any tips?? I tried adding some liquid clay and even some clay softener.
I just started messing with polymer clay a few weeks ago. Started with Sculpey ultra light which I liked and canβt find any more of. Mainly been using Sculpey III and Sculpey Orignal. I have some Sculpey premo and fimo soft to try out. But this darn kato killed my mood for the night lol.
I'm pretty new to the polymer clay world and I need some help. I made some small figurines for a nativity set for my mom and some of them came out pretty well, others not so much - see the pictures below. I didn't realize until recently that different types of polymer clay will be more or less sturdy/brittle after baking. I primarily used sculpey III and original sculpey and, as you can see, have regretted it with some of the figurines. The wings of the angels are pretty brittle and one of them has already broken. I'm wondering if I need to completely re-do the angels in a different clay so their wings are stronger, or if I can just bake them again to make them stronger - keep in mind that my mom plans on having these out on display within reach of children. So they likely will be played with a little bit too.
Also, for any future figurines I make with thin parts like these, what clay is best to use (in addition to using an armature)? I've read Kato polyclay is sturdy, but would that be too rigid?
TIA for your help!
Overall, I'm pretty happy with how this angel looks. I'd like her wings to be less brittle though.
Hello everyone! I've been looking into trying polymer clay for a few weeks now, as I'm getting a bit tired of painting and would like to try my hand at some 3D art. I thought it seemed sculpey premo was the best to start out with, because it seems like a lot of people like it. I'm having trouble finding it though, especially in the colors I want. It seems to be sold out a lot online and when I checked craft stores in my town they didn't seem to have much to choose from. So I wondered if anyone could recommend brands and also where to find them!
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat
Do your worst!
Ants donβt even have the concept fathers, let alone a good dad joke. Keep r/ants out of my r/dadjokes.
But no, seriously. I understand rule 7 is great to have intelligent discussion, but sometimes it feels like 1 in 10 posts here is someone getting upset about the jokes on this sub. Let the mods deal with it, they regulate the sub.

I've just started making clay charms for jewelry. I cant decide if I should buy Kato Polyclay or Sculpey lll. What would yall recommend for the sole use of jewelry?
It really does, I swear!

Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments
