A list of puns related to "Metering pump"
I recently had my engine rebuilt and noticed my OMP was injecting about twice as much oil as I expect. Instead of 1/2 a Qt. or so every 2 tanks (500+ miles), it's more like 1/2 QT in one tank or 250+ miles. I thought maybe the Series II OMP had a "learning function" and would moderate it's oil usage, but that has not happened after 700 miles since rebuild.
Is it possible that the OMP is using "high usage" mode at low RMPs or is stuck on this mode? It is not generating any CEL codes. My rebuilder is unfamiliar with the Series II OMPs and is not sure what the problem is.
I have checked the air filter and no oil is appearing on it. It is also not ending up on the ground.

The customer wants to prevent a metering pump from pumping acid (H2SO4) through a broken line. The acid is used for pH adjustment. The pump and associated plumbing have no way to detect a leak.
The customer proposed shutting down the pumps and triggering an alarm if the pH hasn't changed in a certain period of time.
I am in search of a better way to solve this problem. I think there are too many variables with the customer's proposed solution.
Any takers? I have been racking my brain on this one.
