Iβve been an elite runner for more than half my life. You may have heard of me when I was a teenager - I made the World Championships at 17 and broke the high school American record for the 1500m. Or maybe youβve heard of me more recently, when I spoke out about the culture of abuse I experienced as an athlete at the Nike Oregon Project. Today, Iβm still a professional runner but Iβm also dedicated to using my platform to make the sport a better place for current and future athletes. In 2020, I joined Tracksmith as an athlete and member of their community team, working on projects to support and inspire runners of all levels (sign up for my Fast Times newsletters, here.) My role at Tracksmith is full-time, which is unique for professional athletes. In a new model for sponsorship, my compensation is tied to my overall contributions to the brand, not just my results. I am not subject to reductions and I receive health care and other benefits (this is surprisingly rare in professional running!).
Inspired by my experience at Tracksmith, I wanted to build a professional team that would offer women athletes an opportunity to train at the highest level while also developing their non-running career and supporting the community. This summer, I launched Atalanta NYC, a New York City based nonprofit with two main goals: We employ and support professional female runners so they can achieve their highest athletic goals, and those same runners serve as core mentors for our youth mentoring program. Atalantaβs program is structured to enable athletes to find a healthy and sustainable balance in their running lives and careers.
If thereβs anything I have learned in the past few years, itβs that each of us has the power to drive change, just by using our voice and speaking up for whatβs right. I am passionate about using my platform to make a safer, more equitable sport for all. Outside of running, I am a dedicated dog-mom to Nala and love Greek mythology. Iβm excited to answer your questions about training, racing and my favorite Tracksmith gear.

I rarely seen players from other sports cramping but it seems to happen a lot more during long badminton singles matches in both professional and amateur competition. Which of the following explanation you guys think is the most plausible?
I personally think it is a combination of 2 and 3. BWF should really allow longer or more breaks.
I know I know, βClimate Pledge.β Iβll admit that I was skeptical about the renovation, and thought maybe they should start with a new modern facility, but man thereβs so much history under that roof. Itβs impossible not to think of watching the Sonics in that building while watching this game. Really cool to see.
Iβve always heard that dancing or cheerleading for professional sports team is unfair and brutal. Is it true? Whatβs your experience? Why did you do it?
This post most definitely wears the bias of someone who was born and raised in Green Bay, and has cheered for the Packers since before he could even walk.
I now live far away from Wisconsin and my hometown of Green Bay. I recently attended a Packer game, however, when they were the visiting team in the area that I now reside in - the SF bay area (yes, this was the game that was won by Rodgers and Mason Crosby in 37 seconds).
At this game, there were many Packer fans. Although they remained a minority at the Santa Clara stadium, they formed a strong presence at the stadium, an impressively large one considering the geographical distance between Green Bay and California.
I was surprised by this, and took the opportunity to introduce myself to as many Green Bay fans as I could, and learn about their affinity to the green and gold.
I was surprised to discover that none of these fans were from Wisconsin, almost all had in fact never visited the state. Most were California natives. I was able to share my stories, knowledge, and legendary tales to these folks who were not familiar with the unique greatness of the franchise.
I learned about how they became fans - it was often due to them going to a game when they were younger. One person made a remark on βthe soulβ of the team. Their fandom was rooted in something more abstract, as opposed to mine which was instilled and ingrained in my identity due to my regional upbringing. Nevertheless, I was taken aback upon observing the number of committed Packer fans inhabiting an area that hosted a football team which also achieved a large amount of success in the NFL.
Although these fans struggled to place their finger on what exactly makes the packers such a great organization, they were just as enthusiastic and devoted as myself.
I, however, can provide a host of convincing reasons as to why the Packers are the greatest professional sports organization in the country, and perhaps the world.
Although the Packers possess only 4 super bowl championships - fewer than the Steelers, Patriots, 49ers and Cowboys - they posess the most NFL championships. The championships won before the Super Bowl era are relevant, and absolutely should be considered when analyzing the teams history of success. The argument that the pre-Super Bowl championships donβt matter because the game and the league were so different back then holds no water - as the early super bowl era was also significantly different football than what is pla

Iβm sure itβs relative to the athlete, but as someone who really only knows basketball and is from the US, I was wondering what would be the most challenging sport to switch teams in the middle of the year.

I've recently accepted i'm trans (mtf) and i'm starting the journey of transitioning! I want to get HRT but I know you need a referral to be allowed to even if you go privately. Does anyone know where I can find a list of people who can provide this? I've got in contact with 1 but they're not accepting appointments until June.
To be honest i'm treating this like a box ticking excerise. It urks me no end that i need someone's permission to begin HRT where the focus is all about 'diagnosing dysphoria' rather than celebrating euphoria so i'm happy to go with anyone that could see me sooner rather than later to get the piece of paper i need.
Thanks for the help <3

Mourinho - 25 trophies
Now, compare that count to clubs in all other sports and you get:

Mourinho is 18 trophies away from being as successful as the 30th most decorated club in the sport. Heβs won more than teams like AS Monaco (16), Schalke 04 (17), Borussia Dortmund (21), Lyon (22), Everton (24) and his previous club, Tottenham Hotspur (24). I started my athletic career as a collegiate rower, then later went on to captain the first U.S. womenβs rowing team in history: who competed at the 1976 Montreal Olympics and won the Bronze medal. Then, four years later, I became embroiled in an international scandal when, as a newly minted attorney, I challenged President Jimmy Carterβs boycott of the 1980 Moscow Olympic games. The boycott, driven by political ambitions, served to threaten the rights of U.S. athletes to compete in the apolitical Games; an event where thousands of American athletes dedicated half of their lives to training for.
Nearly half a decade later, I was honored to be invited to join the International Olympic Committee, or IOC (the international organization founded to run the Olympics), as the first African American woman to serve as Vice President. As a ranking officer of the IOC, I then dedicated my life to spreading the spirit of the Olympics throughout the world, and to unite the many peoples of the countries participating. However, my tenure at the IOC has not always been one devoid of controversy. In 2016, I lead the charge and investigation into a global conspiracy to defraud the Olympics via government sponsored drug doping programs. The conspiracy involved many high ranking politicians, influential sports figures, and members of the medical community: needless to say, it was one moment in the history of the Olympics that threatened to destroy it as an institution forever.
In addition to the aforementioned topics, ask me anything about thinking like an Olympic Champion: tips and strategies that I have used throughout my life to turn incredible challenges into victories and success. I would love to share these with you as well!
So, without further ado, I look forward to your questions.
