A list of puns related to "Jiffy Packaging"
Anyone know if I can just stow, do they allow that? Cause I like doing that compared to anything else even though it's mad boring
Jiffy is a Flutter and dart web date time package inspired by momentjs for parsing, manipulating and formatting dates https://pub.dev/packages/jiffy
So i work at a distribution center and most of the time i do stowing.Does anyone know why people get so fucking butt hurt when i try and help them or go in "their" isles. Like it makes no sense when im clearing hella isle i see someone back up hop on the isle next to them then they wanna get mad at me for "taking" their ise. Like listen hear motherfucker if we all did this shit as a team we wouldnt be so backedup. Like move the fuck out of your 3 isle and go to other ones in the same row that are full. I just dont fucking get it. And this isnt a one time thing it happened atleast 5 times in the 2 months ive been here. And 4/5 of the people were older then 40 so idk if it just old ppl being dicks or what.. But the next dickhead to get on my ass about this dumbshit imma catch them in the parking lot
Due to unexpected disability and everything which this entails, my family and I are really struggling. I have one copy of In Stillen NΓ€chten for sale. It was autographed by Till and I bought the book from Stephan of Fresh Eggs Art Gallery in Berlin. Can the community give me any idea as to how much the book would fetch? I would much rather that it went to a fellow fan. Would anyone on here love it? It is a reluctant sale, of course, but when family is in dire straits, one has to do whatever one can. Thanking you all for any advice, offers and suggestions. Also, are there any pitfalls to watch out for when selling such a treasured item? I SO couldnβt take being scammed on top of everything else we are facing.
Iβve been written up twice for a low stow rate, my DS expects us to do 450 per hour and my lowest hour was 365
How do you guys keep a high stow rate because 450 seems impossible
Also can you scan the same package twice or more times or does that not count towards your stow rate?

Went through a long-neglected yarn stash yesterday. On the minus side, I had to throw away literally bagfuls of yarn that had carpet beetle and/or moth damage. On the plus side, I found a WIP I had pretty much forgotten about. I bought this as a "something to do at sea" project when we took a cruise in 2006? 2007? (which means previous estimates of 20 years since my last cross stitch were inaccurate. But I digress.) I worked on it on the ship, then set it aside & forgot about it when we got home.
Shockingly, I had put everything back in the original packaging so the floss was still there, the needle untarnished, and the fabric clean. Looking forward to finishing the third frog; it will be a nice break from the large project I've been working on since last February. Pattern is Jiffy Sunset #16758 Tree Frog Trio.
I recently started working at Amazon and I cannot say I love it. I really don't but I need a job and it's a job. Plus benefits are pretty nice had there is alot of flexibility.
I'm really stressing about my speed though. I try so had to be as fast as they are wanting me to be and I can't seem to get there. I'm so worried I'll end up getting fired for being to slow :( but the numbers they give me seem down right impossible (obviously they aren't because other people manage to do it) any tips?
Hi, I need to improve my stow rate (need to push it to the 300s) so that way I can train in another area (like induct).
I use the stow cart for the jiffies (most of the pick to bufferers don't seperate the jiffies very well) and most of the oversize. That fastest I've done was 199-200.
Also I work the megacycle, that means the previous shift has the empty bags first, so my shift has to deal with bags that are partially full and disorganized.
I'll take all the suggestions you guys have to offer.
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE 11/16/21: Thanks you guys for your suggestions, my rate today came out at 290!
I don't necessarily have a need to ever travel during blizzard conditions, I work at home. Of course, if I'm traveling, I may get up in one. Or I could just use another vehicle.
Option 1:
The dealer quote is $3K all-inclusive to change out to winter tires for my 21's. It looks to be about $600 service fee, so I would have twice a year.
Option 2:
I can buy the entire 19" Porsche wheel and tire package for $4542 w/wheel caps.
Option 3:
The tires themselves are at about $2200 after tax, plus any of their install locales (Firestone, Jiffy Lube, etc.) is $100, so $2300.
I usually water spider, but was asked to stow this morning.
I move at a fast pace just to make the time go by faster, and noticed my rate is 350.
But I see people doing 500-700 occasionally. Seems impossible, or they are just doing jiffys and gaming the system? I think I could do 600 if it was just Jiffys and I didn't care what the bags looked like in the end.
Anyone know the all-time fastest stow rate at a DS?
These are tricks and things I've learned while stowing at my DS FC, all these tricks are not team friendly and sometimes question my morals.
CHOOSING YOUR STOW AISLES. You should get to know which Aisles usually get the most packages w/ Jiffys. In my FC we get more packages in A and E row and more oversized in the rest. I target A and E and only go to B-D when they get over run.
KNOW YOU STOW RATE. After we establish which rows we will primarily be in, we should now think about our expected stow rate. Mine is 290 packages per hour. And if you'd like, you can aim toward that, but usually I aim well above that at 400 p/hour. Reason for that is everyone aims for 290 and achieving that wont set you apart. Even if you set the bar for 350 its better for you. Divide your stowrate into 15 minute intervals ( Divide by 4). My goal stow rate is 400 which means I need to stow 100 packages every 15 minutes. It sometimes help to mentally count as you stow.
JIFFYS. Jiffys are life savers when it comes to stow rates. If you can find an aisle with mostly jiffys then Thats the one you want to stow. Start with stowing the jiffy bins completely down dont stow any new Jiffys that come while you are stowing. After you stow down your jiffys, stow half the boxes on the rack and find a new aisle. If I for some reason get really low on my stow rate, if I am called to a meeting or take a bathroom break for example, I will jiffy snipe. Which means stowing nothing but Jiffys. This can get you in trouble though so beware.
STOWING. My FC asks us to stow boxes in a book shelf like fashion. This has proven useful. I also tend to stow half one side with boxes and the other half with jiffys. Try to keep your bags as neat as possible, when possible. If not possible, then dont spend your precious time fixing other peoples horrible stowing skills. The only time I ever try and fix a stow job, is if I need to make a package fit or if ive met my stow goal and have a few minutes in left in my hour.
OVERSIZED BIG BERTHA PACKAGES. If jiffy packages are stow rates saviors, Oversized packages are the killers. If you have a stow cart at your FC then utilize it very well. I put 3-5 over sized on there if they can fit without falling and roll it to their corresponding zone. Usually this will clear the middle oversized section on the rack or at least take a good portion of it off.
STAY HEALTHY. Please, do not try to murder yourself to appease the stow gods.Remember to drink water, pause to take

Hi. Sorry if I seem a bit clueless. I've never done this before so I have no clue where to begin. I was just wondering how I would go about sending a package to Germany.
I want to send my friend a ring (its sterling silver if that impacts the weight?) I just had a few questions.
First of all, since its so light, would it be possible to send it in an envelope? or would a package be better? I have also looked at jiffy bags too or even those cardboard envelopes?
I was also wondering if there were certain websites or carriers I would use like Royal mail or hermes. And of course theres the pricing which I have no clue how much it will cost.
Anyone mind helping me out? I've looked it up but I'm afraid that I'll get something wrong and I'll be wasting my money.
It really does, I swear!
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

I lived in Denver in the 80s and used to frequent a biker bar that sold popcorn that was packaged in rectangular trays with a foil top (very much like Jiffy Popβ’οΈ, but not round). It was placed on a special hot plate (made just for the tray of corn) with an arm that shook it back and forth until the top expanded and was all popped. I have never seen or heard of another one. Has anyone else heard of this? I would love to buy one. TIA!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
I'm one of the top stowers at my facility, and receive confirmation of this from managers, but I can hardly crack 300 on a good day. I should note, I've only been stowing for a very short time, but I don't believe there's much of a learning curve.
At the start of the day when the bags are empty I can get a solid 330+ by tossing in jiffies, but when bags are full I suspect I get 200-250 at best (all while sweating my ass off). Much of my time is spent reorganizing bags because I have to walk long distances to replace bags and don't want to have too many bags outside the aisle.
Have any of you grown past a plateau rate of 270-300?
For reference, here are all the tactics I use:
P.s. In a different post I inquired about a dirty strategy of rescanning packages that are already in bags, can any L3/L4/L5s confirm that, as others have told me, this is a terrible idea and I'd be caught out.
When I got home, they were still there.

I won't be doing that today!

This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
There hasn't been a post all year!
I applied for a LA position last week since it was suggested to me that if I want to move up in the company, being an Ambassador would be a great 1st step.
I did, and they picked their 'first round' of LA on Monday, one of them being a good work acquaintance. Towards the end if a shift, my brand new LA co-worker tells me that, the higher ups looked at my application but MY STOW RATES WERE TOO LOW?!?
Is this a common thing? Is it a requirement to have great stow rates to become an Ambassador? What if you have a medical accommodation that doesn't allow you to stow? Are you just SOL on moving up?
How does stowing fast relate to being a good trainer? Should I bring it up to Leadership?Should stowing be a prerequisite to advancing up? If so, what are your stowing tips?
How is it set up for you all? I work at a brand new site thatβs only been opened for a month and we have to follow certain rules. For some reason they canβt hire more people for peak because of this and we have all hands on deck. Despite this we are all stowing 3 - 4 aisles with a massive amount of packages coming in. It gets to the point where itβs insanely stressful, overwhelming, and you feel like it will never end. Each aisle here lately has been so jammed packed that weβve had jiffyβs overflowing and packages stacked on the floor.
I just wanna know what a fully staffed facility is likeβ¦ do you all deal with this too or is the work load less? Itβs driving people away. And I mean like 20 people quit last Thursday because it was never ending, I was about to myself. As soon as you think youβve gotten youβre aisles straightened out they are right back to being overloaded within a matter of 30 minutes or less. Itβs not even humanly possible to keep up.
