A list of puns related to "Immobiliser"
I've had issues with a viper immobiliser installed on my mk7 recently (it was already installed when I bought it). The car won't start when using the immobiliser, which is then followed by the alarm. The immobiliser has worked fine in the past, so I'm wondering if the tag/fob has become faulty?
If anyone has one of these immobiliser's and could offer any advice that would be great, cheers.
Hi All.
I have a vehicle immobiliser algorithm to break and I've have gathered a full set of challenge and responses to work with - I can solve it using look-up tables but I'd like to reduce my code to the algorithm rather than the tables if possible.
For a given challenge the response is always the same.
The challenge and response are both always 32 bits.
Each byte of the challenge only ever affects one byte of the response.
I've tried a few CRC algorithms using RevEng but no luck.
In the vehicle application the "raw" response is XORd with a fixed value before the challenging module sees it...ie Challenge issued by challenging module >> Raw response returned by immobilser module >> Raw response XORd by gateway module >> challenging module receives XORd response.
Here's a few sequential C/R pairs so you can get a feel for what's going on.
Challenge >> Raw >> XORd with 0xE7C61029
0x00000000 >> 0xB52063BB >> 0x52E67392
00000001 >> B5206341 >> 52E67368
00000002 >> 89E36E1E >> 6E257E37
00000003 >> 89E3C71E >> 6E25D737
00000004 >> B52063DD >> 52E673F4
00000005 >> B520635B >> 52E67372
If anyone can see a pattern emerging or has ideas about how to solve this then please go for it and let me know! I've got a full set of C/Rs as I say (0x00000000 to 0xFFFFFFFF) so if you need more for testing then let me know.
Thanks :)
I have been wondering if the abs immobiliser switch from RR can be installed on a 2021 model ?
Hi my mk 5 golf (2004 1.9 tdi if it helps) recently got a new key and barrel, but now the immobiliser won't go off, I have the old key and tried holding the key close to the sensor and used the new key to start the car but nothing. Any advice? Is there a way to tell the car it has a new key?
I just got my 2021 MT07 last saturday and while reading the manual I found out about the immobiliser system, however I don't know what it does or how it works.
The dealer didn't mention it either.
What are the benefits of this system and what does it do?
Hello, I bought a 1997 Land Cruiser yesterday! I got one working key, and two keys which do not start the engine. I don't find any immobiliser lights on the dashboard. What procedure would I need to program the key for the car?
BTW what would be good to do on this car in working condition but an unknown past? It does not like to start cold, so I'll probably swap the glow plugs, and replace all the fluids and lube the moving parts. Anything else?
I've just bought a new bike, being on this subreddit i've seen immobiliser come up a few times. I'm curious on,
My mk4 Escort was stolen yesterday and thankfully has been recovered (currently in a compound until they open on Tuesday). It was hot wired. I've been looking at alarms this morning to get an idea but can't find much detail on Thatchams installation costs. Nearest authorised installer is about 40 miles away.
Does anybody here experience on how much of an insurance saving it is to get done by a authorities fitter and how much roughly installment costs for type 1?
Trying to weigh up whether it's worth fitting myself with help of a friend who in an electrician and has fitted his own alarms on his own fleet.
The car is currently a carb model but will soon have an aftermarket EFI setup.
Thanks!
Basically as above, I live in a low crime area but work in a place with a slightly higher rate of crime. My bike is parked in the work car park which the general public can gain access to also. Was considering buying and installing the above. Thanks
Hey guys, I have a 96 NA auto, love the car but in the last couple weeks the immobiliser just seems to turn off and lock up the engine so I canβt turn the car on. Now Iβve got two remotes (the classic two button mongoose one) and it happens with both. Wonβt let me turn the car on and the immobiliser light turns off aswell.
If I leave the car in neutral and get it rolling or push it, after a couple yards the immobiliser starts working and the light comes on and I can turn the car on.
Any idea whatβs causing this? And how I can fix it?
Has anyone added a remote immobiliser or anything similar to their DT? I want to add a few levels if security to mine, thought Iβd start with this. Thanks
Hey guys, my KTM has encountered this problem of immobiliser antenna failure and wonβt start. I searched the internet for any possible quick fixed but couldnβt find any. Has anyone encountered this problem and know how to fix it by yourself? The dealership here in NSW Australia is the worst, so I am trying to find ways to do it on my own (somehow)
Hi everyone. Posting a quick question about a bit of car trouble I'm having. My car suddenly decided not to start, not making any effort when I start the ignition. The battery was tested and it's good, did try to jump start as well with no response. Its most likely an immobiliser issue. Has anyone any advice on how to restart the immobiliser to get the car to start? Its a Seat Ibiza, 2010. Many thanks
