A list of puns related to "Heat Wave (comics)"
So happyβ¦ Missing box showed up with zero warning this week. Itβs not the biggest sale Iβve ever done, but itβs so much fun and tons of stuff Iβve never sold before (or even seen before!). Shipping is $5 flat. A note about these records: Sometimes my descriptions just donβt do them justice. Other times, most of what Iβm writing about is one or two INSANELY GOOD tracks that carry the album. Itβs all part of the hunt and the dig.
Iβm also including a few records that I have for sale that arenβt soviet/estern european. These have been sitting in sale boxes waiting to go to fairs/sold online and just havenβt gotten around to doing much of that this year, so Iβm tossing a couple into these sales for a while. GOOD STUFF!

Soviet groove, funk, disco, jazz, cold wave, and more!
ΠΠ΅ΡΠ½ΡΡΡ ββ βΠΠ΅ΡΠ½ΡΡΡ IIβ - One of the best groups of the folk-inspired groove groups. This band was everything and more to people that were digging this music in the past because their records were so easy to come by and included so much cool shit. That initial popularity has resulted in a weird price inflation that was unexpected to me (to say the least). This is priced at a low price because itβs one of those records I think people should hear. Total fucking classic of the groove genre. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=82&v=CN8Qtk42OGg&feature=emb_title $12
ABC - βΠΡΡΡΠ°Π΄Π½ΡΠΉ ΠΠ½ΡΠ°ΠΌΠ±Π»Ρ ABCβ - Simply incredible Yugoslavian funk/folk/psych? This record isnβt particularly rare, but finding one in nice condition has taken me years. This copy is great. Sleeve is better than most, and the music shines through. Honestlyβ¦ Just this one song is worth the purchase entirely. This record has some of the coolest bass lines, keyboard riffs, and I absolutely love the vocals. I have never had an extra copy of this for sale. Ever. [~~https://www.youtusbe.com/watch?
So this past summer we had extreme heat waves, now we have an extreme cold snap (-45c where I am). I would much rather have a cold snap because I could dress for it. How about you? π¬
Shake-n-bake.
How does it not concern you? How much of what you tell yourself to justify the heat wave is simply a coping mechanism? Do you actually think this is normal/not a big deal, or are you not so sure now?
This really isn't meant to make waves, I'm wildly concerned about these weather patterns and would genuinely like to hear from people who feel differently, and why. It would actually be nice to be talked down a little, because I've been spiraling in a tornado of impeding doom today and am terrified when I think about what the future could potentially hold.
I just wanted to open up a thread for updates and tips.
This could be over hyped or a mild version of the Texas grid down.
We had record heat in Minnesota today, melting all the recent snow.
We now have a storm starting, mild rain and lightning (lightning never happens here in December). Rain actually is now coming down hard as I typed this.
60 mile per hour winds and Tornado potential reported.
In the middle of the night temps will drops from 50s /60s to 10s/20s. Flash freeze of wet roads.
Again I donβt know if this is serious, with people under prepared or a false alarm. I jus wanted to start the conversation.
Update. Roads are not that bad for the twin cities winter. Likely 2 tornadoes 80 miles south of the twin cities in Heartland Minnesota, not yet confirmed by national weather service.
###Almost all of Central and Southern South America are at risk of high or extreme fires this New Year's Eve amidst brutal heat wave
The South American fire risk map is impressive on this last day of the year. Half of the continent is at high or extreme fire risk. Practically all of Argentina, from the extreme south to the north of the country, has an extreme fire risk projected by the models. Also west of Uruguay, west of Rio Grande do Sul and Paraguay present an exceptionally high risk of fire.
This extreme fire risk situation occurs due to the combination of two factors. First, a severe and prolonged drought hits Argentina, Uruguay, part of Paraguay and southern Brazil. In these same regions, there is an intense hot air mass with very strong heat to the extreme, where the maximum values ββexceed 40ΒΊC.
Central South America, in particular, is facing the worst of the heat wave. The temperature yesterday reached 38.5ΒΊC in Uruguay in Mercedes and 38.3ΒΊC in Salto. In the city of Montevideo, the maximum reached 35.2ΒΊC in the Prado. In Rio Grande do Sul, the temperature reached 38.9ΒΊC in Porto Xavier, 38.0ΒΊC in QuaraΓ, 37.8ΒΊC in Uruguaiana and Santa Rosa, 37.7ΒΊC in Alegrete, 37.6ΒΊC in TeutΓ΄nia, 37.5ΒΊC in Feliz, 37.4ΒΊC in Porto Vera Cruz and Alpestre, and 37.3ΒΊC in Lajeado.
In Paraguay and Argentina, the temperature once again exceeded 40ΒΊC with records of 46.0ΒΊC in Rivadavia, 44.0ΒΊC in Las Lomitas, 43.4ΒΊC in Santiago del Estero, 42.6ΒΊC in Catamarca, 42.5ΒΊC in Formosa, 42, 0ΒΊC in Tartagal and Villa de Maria del Rio Seco and 41.5ΒΊC in La Rioja. In Paraguay, the temperature reached 43ΒΊC in Marechal Estigarria.
The risk of fire will remain extreme over the weekend as the heat remains at an exceptional level in central and northern Argentina, where the temperature will remain above 45Β°C in some regions. Paraguay will also have exceptional heat with maximum temperatures ranging from 43ΒΊC to 45ΒΊC.
Large forest fires hit Uruguay at the end of this year, a consequence of the strong heat wave that has been registered and the drought that has devastated the country that caused the Uruguayan Ministry of Livestock to declare a climate emergency situation. Firefighters, Ministry of Interior, Air Force, Army and volunteers are fighting calls in two regions of the country.
My dad and I were talking and I asked him when the last time he remembers seeing heat waves on the roadways. For him and I both it's been 10 years or greater.
You know, on a hot summer day and driving down a flat roadway, in the distance, you see the waves radiating off of the road.
Heat radiating off of hot cars in parking lots were very common as well for me as a child.
Listening to NPRβs All Songs Considered today about Montero being awarded NPRβs song of the year, and the host asked Lil Nas X about his top songs of the year. He had to think for a minute, but the first song he said was Heat Waves! Pretty cool to get that shoutout from one of the hottest artists of the year, even if it is a year late haha
I completely respect Todd's opinion on Heat Waves and understand it... for the most part.
I was very confused by him saying that there wasn't a riff just "vibes." Yes there are "vibes" but there is also a very noticeable guitar riff that plays throughout the entire song. At least I assume its a guitar, and a guitar is visible in music video (I have no clue if its actually playing the riff or not). There is no rock edge to the song, like he said, but there is seemingly a guitar playing a riff? I thought this was very odd, and it perplexes me why he specifically noted there not being a riff.
His other major points still hold true, and I respect his opinion even if I am confused by this.
