A list of puns related to "Haptic communication"
Yes, it's a pretty far departure from what you'd call a "ThinkPad". I can see the complaints, and I feel like they're valid;
But I've been hunting for a great-looking ultra-portable that doesn't skimp on power, and resigned myself to the fact that the best option was going to be the XPS13 (especially due to that screen), despite the fact it's Intel only.
Now, we have the Z13, and its uncanny how many boxes its checking for me:
Yes, it's not the "workhorse" that many of us find normal Thinkpads to be. You're not going to be doing any crazy mods on these, and the lack of ports is going to turn away most ThinkPad enthusiasts.
But surely there's bound to be others here who are legitimately interested in what seems to be Lenovo's answer to the XPS13?
I'm replaying ultra hard+ mode on my PS5 with the pulse headset and the sound design makes me feel like I'm playing it for te first time. The best word to describe it is intensely realistic, the sound of these giant machines never had so much impact and the way the machines communicate is so much more clear. The Longleg is a whole different level of fun now that I understand that what I once called a "wind attack" is their voice being used to push me back since I can hear their voice come at me. I really can't wait to see what they do with forbidden west, if they added an update to provide haptic feedback to ZD it would be a definite PS5 experience alone.
Not sure how many blind people learn morse code, but it could be an interesting way to easily communicate to someone who is blind.
Do your worst!
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
It really does, I swear!
In the land of Rea'Der (pronounced "Ree-uh-durr"), life formed on a rogue planet. Rogue planets (real thing, by the way) are basically planets without a solar system to orbit around, flying through space. They're really cold.
Anyway, despite having no star for warmth the planet is kept warm enough for life by ridiculously active volcanos and vents that constantly spew magma from the planet's core. The bubbling oceans are kept at a constant simmer, with the resulting water vapor and steam creating a powerful greenhouse effect that keeps the planet almost tropical.
In these vast seas life arose and evolved onto land, only to find that the surface was just as dark as the bottom of the ocean; the water vapor/volcanic-ash laden clouds are so omnipresent and thick that the entire surface of the planet is completely devoid of light save for the odd lightning strike.
The intelligent life of Rea'Der thus never evolved the ability to see, since it provided no advantage. Oral storytelling traditions predominated for thousands of years, but this was found to be impractical in many situations, such as students wanting to recall a lesson but not wanting to listen to a whole lecture all over again. Many different solutions were attempted, including the recording of sound into "grooves" in rock that could then be played back with special, needle-like tools. However, these "records" proved too delicate, and it was difficult and mentally taxing to play back sounds at a consistent speed using just manual tools.
The most practical alternative became reliance on a texture-based alphabet of raised letters. The inhabitants of Rea'Der would use special hardened rods knows as "pens" to write letters into partially solidified magma that was still hot enough to deform but cool enough to keep it's shape. Once this "magmaclay" hardened completely, a permanent writing was formed.
This texture-based form of communication grew with their technology, to the point where modern Rea'Der citizens now have their own form of virtual reality: full-body haptic-feedback suits that provide a "3D" reading experience. A Rea'Der gamer shot in the head, for example, will feel the letters of "Shot in the head" dance across their face."
On their equivalent of the internet, Rea'Der establish communities around various topics, including the creation of fictional worlds, otherwise knowing as "worldbuilding".
While some particularly inventive artists are able to create sculptures as well as draw p

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.

^(>>This document me and a few others of the Blood Paws put together for anyone new that might have stumbled on this or visiting Midisaint. It doesnβt go into a lot of detail on some things. That is what asking questions on a BBS is for, right?)
^(-Dead Paw)
In Midisaint the internet is a few steps above and beyond what most will experience in other nations. In the nation of wolves it is given the name of the matrix, as it is a combination of the standard world wide web as well the protocols needed that allows one to experience it either VR^(1) or AR^(2).
It is the infrastructure behind most electronics. Itβs whatβs behind the interface you interact with everyday. It is literally everywhere, runs everything, and yet for all of that, itβs as close as anything can come to being invisible.
People donβt think about the power grid and how it works when they plug in a hair dryer or drive their car to work, they just use it. Itβs the same with the matrix: they make phone calls, send email, ask their car for directions and perform a million other little tasks, never thinking about how the connections are made and data is transferred. There is almost no place on the planet that isnβt connected to someplace else via the matrix: from phone calls to video conferencing, credit card transfers to security systems - any time information moves anywhere in the world, it does so over the matrix.
THE MATRIX AND EVERYDAY LIFE
The matrix isnβt just something you look at occasionally. It makes sure the lighting in your living room is just at the level you prefer. It is the reminder on your commlink^(3) that thereβs a special on pink roses for your date that you should take advantage of, because she doesnβt like red ones.
There is almost no period of time, day or night, when the matrix is not in use in some way in the major metropolitan areas. In your home, car, or office: whenever you carry any device that transmits or receives data; whenever you go out and watch the latest concert on live feed at your local nightclub: youβre using the matrix. It has become the universal constant in a world of uncertainty, crossing every social and economic class barrier. Even the homeless can use the matrix through street corner public access terminals. It is the ultimate social service.
The matrix is even available from the road. Letβs say a car has a flat tire. A call for roadside assistance goes out from the vehicle through a satellite uplin

You take away their little brooms
This morning, my 4 year old daughter.
Daughter: I'm hungry
Me: nerves building, smile widening
Me: Hi hungry, I'm dad.
She had no idea what was going on but I finally did it.
Thank you all for listening.
There hasn't been a post all year!
Itβs pronounced βNoel.β
After all his first name is No-vac
When I got home, they were still there.
