Has anyone had any experiences with makeup artists/glamour photography studios?
Hey girls! My gf has offered to purchase a session at a photography studio to do hair/makeup/and a photo shoot for Katie. The studio we found on Groupon isn’t a crossdressing-centric place, as there aren’t many in the North Carolina area that I know of. I sent an email just explaining my situation to ensure their staff (and myself) would be comfortable. Has anyone done something like this before? How was your experience?

I want to do a glamour photoshoot as birthday/graduation to myself. If you know of David Suh on tiktok, similar to what he does. Are there any studios around here that do that kind of thing? I am not looking to do a boudoir shoot lmao.

Going for a Jessica Rabbit vibe (minus a proper dress). Kinda has a "Glamour Shots" feel to it. For you kids, Glamour Shots was a photography store in the 90s where single moms paid to dress up like upscale "working girls" from the 80s & get a soft touch filter applied to their pics. Very popular.
How to get into glamour/portrait photography?
Hey everyone,
Post virus I am wanting to get into glamour/portrait photography but I have no idea where to start or if it's even possible in my circumstance. I currently do landscape, long exposure and time-lapse photography. As such, the gear I have in addition to the gear listed below is more landscape based so ND filters, polarizing filters and tripods.
I have never done any portrait type photography so I would need to learn how use the light, direct the model etc. To complicate matters I am wheelchair bound so I am not sure how that would affect things. I guess I would be doing shoots in places like parks?
My questions:
- Gear wise what would I need? A lens on the more tele end I guess (70-200mm or maybe 135mm)? Lighting wise would I need to get one/some speedlite or reflectors?
- Where do people learn to direct the model on how to pose?
- Any other advise on where to start out?
