I posted this in a Solar Reddit and haven’t gotten any comments yet. It may take an electrician to answer so I am reposting it here.

The inverter for my grid tied PV Solar AC output runs to a 60 amp AC disconnect located next to my meter then into my service panel where it makes a line side tap into the feed lines from the meter.

The electrical line drawing says to bond the neutral to the case of the AC disconnect as required by the authority having jurisdiction. The electrical inspector didn’t have any comment about this note.

The neutral in my service panel is bonded to the case of the service panel. I have heard that only the neutral in the first panel should be bonded. Should the neutral in my AC disconnect also be bonded to the case of the disconnect or not? The neutral and ground from the AC disconnect run to the service panel an tie in to the panel that has its neutral bonded.

I have not been able to find an answer to this question. TIA

I'm aware of this link which shows different grid types, but I don't want a city just repeating the VFG-C/D grid all over the place. Recently I came across the concept of the Fused Grid, which may add some variety in applying these VFG-C/D grids, but I wonder if there are other proven street layouts?

I don't want "organic" or "realistic", as in built upon older street layouts that didn't have proper planning. I actually want a perfectly planned, laid out city, that is great for pedestrian life and community, and not just accidentally made that way (e.g. European historical urban centres which are beautiful but weren't planned out for modern use during medieval times). I realise it may look "artificial", but I don't see that as a bad thing -- I want it to be as liveable, walkable, and pleasant as possible right from the get-go. Basically, as close to perfect as possible.

Is there some sort of list of comparisons of different street layouts that are planned and proven to be effective, with pros and cons as well as examples that show how the streets are laid out (topographically)? Preferably with transit and bike integration?

One energy exchanger set to charge feeding into another one set to discharge, with belts looping accumulators both together can serve as a 45MW limiter. It can also serve as an automatic shutoff for unimportant parts of the factory when power usage goes at or above 100%, since charging accumulators are considered the lowest priority.

For example this can be useful for a large scale power plant that may stall if satisfaction goes below 100%. You can use just enough energy exchangers to prevent the inner electrical grid (that supplies the logistics for the power station) to stall when the outer circuit goes above 100% satisfaction.

This is a little side project I've been working on for the last month, partially born out of stress - and then because it was relaxing to work on. Fuse Bead Simulator is an art tool with a bit of a retro feel - designed to create patterns in top-down 3D, recreating what it feels like to play with perler / fuse beads. It can also be used to generally create pixel art, or for sewing patterns. It's been optimized to run on multiple systems, though is currently Windows only - I plan on publishing to the Microsoft Store and other locations as well.

Sitting in the middle of this ornate hall, I allowed myself the time to appreciate the architecture of these people. What looked like enormous pieces of perfectly cut mantle stone had been used to craft the walls of this place. Such artistry and engineering all but ensured these people would prosper greatly upon joining with the federation. This hall was far too large to have been intended for the purpose it was now performing, the efforts of our host to accommodate my delegation were admirable but there was no way a few hundred staff would look anything but absurd taking up their seats around my table.

This table itself was exquisite, carved from some sort of enormous indigenous flora it depicted what I assumed were the culturally significant events of this species past. A part of me hoped to see my name and likeness added to it, after all, what was more significant than the surrender of an entire species.

Although as far as species surrenders went this was all rather understated. The Talvia had offered minimal resistance despite their formidable intrasellar defenses. A pragmatism found in the new races was finally bringing an end to the horrors that echoed spinward and antispinward through the galaxy for millennia. Warfare in the modern age had been honed into an accounting problem, how many resources could be gained for the least amount of mass wastefully jumped between the stars. Economic surveys had started the moment the fleet was in range and the Talvia military didn’t even attempt to jam communications between merchant entities even during the battle. “Battle”, what had actually happened was some obsolete drones danced with some surplus missiles, and both sides handed out a few medals. One was even pinned to my uniform now.

Still, theatrics were important and I would play my part as the highest-ranking officer in the system, it was my part to sit here and accept the pageantry of the Talvia. This was going to be the start of a great economic integration and there was no cause to be rude with our hosts. Still, if their crown prince saw fit to keep me waiting in this grand hall I could certainly be excused for attending to my actual duties while I waited.

The most mundane and unusual detail was the only wrinkle in an otherwise flawless invasion, the cultural records check had not been accepted by central command. Protocol dictated that prior to integration with the Federation, a sampling of the records of surrendering civilization would be audit

So this happened about a week ago and I honestly am still fuming from this. I’m not sure if this belongs in this subreddit but here goes.

First a little backstory. I’m a mixed ethnicity individual. I’ve been confused for many races over the course of my 29 years on this planet but I’m literally Caucasian and African American. Usually it can be figured out but the difference with me is my father is the Caucasian so therefore my hair is straight. I’m originally from Texas and am usually confused for being Mexican. But now I live in Massachusetts and I’ve never had an issue with anyone concerning my race, until this day. Also I am married to a Caucasian woman who had a child before we were married. His father is not in his life as much and I took the responsibility because I love this woman and I love this little boy as if he were my own. He’s 4 now and I’ve been in his life since he was 1.

Anyways onto the story. My wife needed a few things from the grocery store and she needed to run a few more errands and usually she just goes and knocks things out herself because I’m sleep (I work nights) but this particular day I happened to be awake and I offered to go for her. She works hard and does a lot so I definitely felt it was necessary to do something for her so she could just relax for the day. I took my son with me so she could rest up and just take it easy and it gave me time to spend with my son for some bonding. We completed all of the errands which went smoothly and then headed to the grocery store to finish up our day. My son being a typical four year old was full of energy running ahead of me laughing and speaking to everyone he comes across, which I generally don’t mind as long as he doesn’t hit anyone and stays within eye view. As I’m making my way down an aisle looking for canned corn, my son jogs to the end of it when an older lady is entering at the other end. In advance. This is not my personal story but rather that of my friend and his neighbour. Retold with his kind permission. I will write this in first person as my friend to avoid confusion.

I am also NOT very technically minded when it comes to electrics, so please bear with me and I shall explain as best as my layman's knowledge allows.

Begins:

So I live not far from Milla Milla in North Queensland up in the mountains and rain forest. On my property I am blessed with a strong mountain stream that never goes dry and was perfect for a small hydro-electric setup to produce power for my house.

Now to place it on my property I would only get a small "head" of water meaning the hydro system would not be running at full capacity and produce a lot less power that it was actually capable of. To ensure I never was left dry, I instead installed two hydro systems which essentially meant I could now run everything as much as I liked. To burn off excess power produced I mounted a row of heating elements, from old hot water systems, on the roof of my shed. (I could not feed the excess back into the grid as apparently it is illegal to do this from hydro for some reason but is apparently perfectly alright from solar panels???)

A pretty nice setup once complete and apart from a very small amount of maintenance I never paid a cent for power ever again.

I was on very good terms with my downhill neighbour and eventually we struck a deal to place the generators on my neighbours property where there would be a higher head from my weir and the turbines would run at full power, easily providing enough electricity for both houses. So we poured a new cement slab for the generators and ran a new feed pipe from my weir to the new generator site. Wired everything in and hey-presto, free power all round.

Everything was good for nearly a decade until my neighbour finally sold the place and moved south to be with his kids.

At first the new neighbour seemed ok. He had been told about the power sharing arrangement but apparently had not grasped the bit about the generators being on his property. They were down by the creek and in the forest so it may not have been immediately obvious where they were located.

Unfortunately when he did discover them he appeared to take it as a personal affront and came storming to my door one night.

This is managed by a very large provider, with significant coverage and reputation. I lose power for a moment everyday or every other day. And have for the last month as it’s gotten colder. You can hear the loud pop of a fuse blowing down the way each time.

Hi, this is going to be a kind of a long post but I would like some guidance as to what I can do to improve my prints. I am a complete newbie when it comes to 3d printing. I received the printer from my father who no longer had a use for it and it was kind of set up nicely (he made prints with pretty good quality). Here is a print I made that took around 7 hours to complete:

I am trying to create some redundancy in my power plant. Whenever a fuse blows, I need a jump start equal to the power of the water pumps. Lately that has been accomplished with biomass generators. I would like to use the power storage as battery to jump start the system BUT not feed into everything else. I only want them to jump start my water extractors in the case that a fuse blows.
