A list of puns related to "Faros"
Is an asshole. Purging APOLLO??? Sir you're just one man, you don't get to decide that all of human history should be erased with the push of a button.
Literally, when I first found that out, I got SO ANGRY. Like, that's MILLENNIA of history, art, science, math, human cultures, and god knows what else. I was so furious, I had a moment of "Oh. Apparently that's a trigger for me."
I can only hope that it wasn't totally destroyed, like HADES wasn't, and we find out more later.
If I had a gun with two bullets, and I was in a room with Hitler, bin Laden, and Ted Faro, I would shoot Ted Faro twice.
Merry Christmas.

Forget about Omega clearance for a moment. You'd think that killing all life on the entire planet is somehow illegal.
We are talking about a time where celebrity scientists and engineers are literally abducted to work on Zero Dawn, and given the choice to either work in the bunker forever, stay in prison forever, or die. No money in the world could buy an Alpha's freedom, some of whom I'm sure were pretty wealthy given their world class success.
What's more, they knew he had been annoying and meddling with the Alphas, making dumb requests all the time. In a time like that, that should have been enough to just imprison or shoot the guy for the sake of the project's undistracted success. Or have him sent to the front lines, his assets seized in civil forfeiture.
Like, much like Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos or whatever, Faroβs gotta have had a pretty solid fanbase of bootlicking dipshits before the swarm went rogue and made shit go to fuck.
After playing through The Mountain That Fell and witnessing that dipshit purge Apollo yet again, I couldn't help but wonder... how the fuck did he do that? Who gave him Omega access? Who gave control of the project that was supposed to save the Earth to the moron who destroyed it in the first place? Is that because he paid for the whole thing? This doesn't make any sense.
Got rid of mosquitos.
Do you think we will learn more about him?, possibly find his corpse?. I hope so, would love to tea bag the SOB!. Fuck Faro.
I do think his bunker was in the forbidden west though. Though I can't remember if it was stated where he was holled up.
So I was replaying it and doing the mission at the faro hq and I noticed 2 things. So the first is when you restore the holograms at the top the computer says do you want to use alpha "privileges"(not sure what the exact wording was). So are these the same privileges of zero dawn and if yes who deleted everything at the top of faro hq? Ted Faro perhaps with his omega "privileges" whatever he had? And if so why can Elizabeth restore it, omega is higher than alpha right? And the other is Elizabeth threatens him with telling the generals the real reason for the glitch, so it wasn't just a mistake or what did she tell them?
I forget which specific mission it was but Sylens mentions that the old ones were experimenting with cryogenic freezing and since Tedβs fate after killing the alphas is unknown could this mean that Ted is somewhere out there chillin in a cryogenic stasis?
I was just watching this history video. I think it would be really cool to see some footage of the war against the Faro Plague. Must have been some insanely epic battles.

We've already seen several of the new machines from the Forbidden West, such as the Tideripper and Bristleback, but, my question now is does anyone think we'll see new Faro Machines?
As it stands now we only know of three types of Machines that made up the Chariot Line of F.A.S. "Peacekeeping" machines the ACA3-Scarab/Corruptor, the FSP5-Kopesh/DeathBringer, and the BOR7-Horus/Metal Devil. How likely, if at all, is that we'll see wholly new types of the Chariot Line, or perhaps older/other models of each of the Chariot Line units( For example a FSP3-Kopesh instead of the FSP5 that we have already fought)?
Or maybe we could see other Lines of pre Zero Dawn robots from other companies that were slaved to the Faro Plague, or just another line of FAS robots.
Tell my why or why not you guys think we could see new Faro machines in Horizon Forbidden West in the comments.
Our company is being bought and merged with another local machine shop and one of the things I was told was that I was going to have to learn to operate their FARO arm. I've never used nor seen one before and I wanted to know any crash course tips on things that may be useful. Unfortunately, I cannot find any information right now about the model or year. Not sure how much different they are. Thanks!
TLDR: please do, before saying he was just evil.
I'm going to start a bizarre train of thoughts, so bear me if you can.
Here in Italy we have an historian called Alessandro Barbero; truly one of the greatest. He once said more or less: "We're used to study history distinguishing evil and good historical events. But what we don't understand is that we judge an historical fact good or bad years after it. At the time that historical event was alive, at least the first years, everyone thought was good. We have to study not the events generically but the historical period behind it and it's reasons."
Hope you understood my reasoning. Don't get me wrong there are no excuses for what he did to APOLLO, I'm referring to the pre Faro plague Period. Still an asshole anyway.
What are the Faro robots made of? At first, it looks as if the Faro robots are made of metal, clanking sounds and all. But there are some problems with that.
First of all, where does all the metal come from? Metal structures of the old days are still around in Aloyβs time, so the Faro robots didnβt consume any metal from their world. Why didnβt they? Was it mined? An exponentially growing swarm would have massive needs for metal, probably more than can be mined by the end. Also, how would the supply chains work from a mine, if the robots multiplied exponentially everywhere on the battlefield? Operation Enduring Victory could just blow up the mines instead of facing robots everywhere. (On a related note, why didnβt OEV focus exclusively on destroying Horuses?)
Second, working with metal from the earth requires massive machinery and insane temperatures. Weβve seen the Cauldrons; they are larger than a Horus by an order of magnitude.
So I think that while Gaiaβs robots are made with metal parts in the Cauldrons, Faro robots arenβt; they are carbon-based. This isnβt said explicitly anywhere in the lore as far as Iβm aware, but it would only make sense if the biomass they consume is not only used as fuel, but also to make new carbon-based robots. This also explains the black color of the Scarabs, as carbon fiber is typically black. What do you think?
Ninja edit to clarify
Not sure if anyone else does this, but when I play through the game, and get to the part where we learn that Ted Faro purged Apollo, and killed all of the Alphas, I like to shoot a few arrows at his hologram just before it goes out. Ted Faro is just the worst.
Since we know that the ocean life was the last to go, the majority of the Faro bots probably went into the deep ocean to feed off trench detritus and such. Probably helps make sense of why they couldn't have been nuked too, if there were underwater Horuses that were basically unreachable by the human weapons.
Sure hope Minerva has good signal strength!
I've completed the main campaign expect for the sun king mission side. Taking my time to get all the collectables and weapons ect and completed all the side missions before I do the final one.
Should I enter the cut before i defeat Hades?
First off fuck Ted but I do not think he had anything to do with the Gaia virus or the original Chariot Glitch. I think he must be alive in some form, either they sorted out the cryogenics or he instigated the light keeper protocol for himself and we will meet our nemesis reborn or the original.
Apollo is an interesting one because it was telemetry that indicated the Odyssey was destroyed, could be untrue, the raw data could be in orbit, but if the telemetry is outright false who could have done that. Also Hades given form was offering encyclopaedic knowledge to Sylens- how? The virus transformed the functions, could the originator have possession of Apollo? On one hand Ted we now know hated Apollo so he could destroy it or make it lost by faking data but he wasn't forward thinking just an evil asshole.
The big question is who created and sent the virus to Gaia Prime? I do not think it was Ted, he can't write something like that. The only antagonist that can work across centuries is another AI. How did it know the facility location? The last signal leak that got Dr Sobek killed gave it the clue; that and the machine activity in the years after Minerva's successful code break.
Apart from Apollo another advanced AI is the only source of knowledge of "Quantum Processing". I think the author of the virus is also the author of the initial glitch in the Chariot line which broke the command structure the swarm obeyed; very similar to the virus's effect on the functions. But why does it hate humans so much, does it hate humans or life itself? The Earth without biological life was mission accomplished but why?
We see latter in the game that there are so many that nuking isnt a viable option once it was just the Americas left, but early on the locations shown seemed pretty limited. Considering that only Titans have to be nuked and i doubt there are more of them than nukes, what was the issue of doing massive, but not world ending damage to Earth and stop it dead in its tracks? Billions would still die, but would would survive.
I mean besides that it was needed for the game to happen, actual in universe reason. Closest i have come up with is they retired nuclear arsenal for some reason and didnt have anything ready.
So ive been processing scans in Scene and for the first time not all the scans auto registered. there are plenty of features so i dont know what is wrong. but the last three solved a little skewed. is there a way to repo them. or any videos that could help.. im not seeing anything online. how should i approach this?
...so we can kill this absolutely monumental idiot. That's actually all I've got for now. I would like to write more but I'd actually have to invent some new words in order to adequately express how genuinely loathsome this pile of monkey crap truly is. Fuck Ted Faro.
Massive spoilers below
When I say Ted was right, I mean he was kind of right. Kind of right on one thing.
If you have not finished the game DO NOT READ THIS ANY FURTHER!
Purging Apollo probably saved humanity - unpopular opinion, but I have supporting evidence.
Now, the cultural genocide aspect was indeed deplorable, and I have no doubts that deleting his own culpability from the record played a role in his choice. However; The purge override appears to be very all or nothing - keeping the history without the tech data was likely not a choice
Also consider this quote from Dr. Sobeck's journal:
"And I worry about that alpha-build of APOLLO. So much knowledge, so few restraints, and no fail-safes. How will they avoid repeating our mistakes? What's to stop them from playing god?"
Now - obviously they modified it since alpha, but she clearly had the same concerns as Ted. Would she have done what he did? No - I think only Ted was crazy enough to be able to set aside our sentimentality for our own history.
Below I will attempt to make the case that any future where Apollo survives would end in disaster.
Any attempt to educate a new generation of humans MUST have in some way contained information on how to form a governing body, or otherwise organize themselves. If not directly, then by the study of our history.
The way we organized ourselves was the product of our environment and our history. Layers of context, vested interests and built-up history made our societal structure rigid.
But for the same reason as GAIA needed to be able to design new robot forms, free of the 'bias of 21st century design' as the game put it, society would have needed to come to its own conclusions about how to organize themselves. Teaching them our history automatically introduces our bias into the mix, limiting the forms that new government could take.
The designers of ZD had no way to predict what environment and context that government would be formed under.
And that thought is not limited to governance - nearly all aspects of how we organize ourselves would change - think of how to design a city in a world populated by terraforming robots constantly changing the environment. The lack of major roadways connecting distance cities is evidence of this - the machines would likely destroy them. Had they known our history, they may have wasted resources constantly rebuilding and defending highways early on.

Are there any flaws in recreating crime scenes with this software? What are the pros and cons, if any?
