A list of puns related to "Esther (given name)"
Maybe full name Esther Park or something - Essie P!
(Or, you know, call her whatever her name was at the Korean orphanage, or at the least give her a Korean name to respect her heritage, but I guess the fact that anyone gave her a name at all is an achievement given the cold-Foundation tone of the article!)
"But what do you think we should call the baby?"
Itβs called the Moo-trix.
The bad history
A widely spread meme shows a picture of the 1930s cartoon character Betty Boop, and a photo of a woman looking very similar. There are several forms of this meme.
The meme typically claims the woman in the photo is Esther Jones, a famous black performer whose image was apparently unethically exploited when cartoonistΒ Max Fleischer invented the cartoon character Betty Boop, based on Jones' image and singing style. The meme claims Esther Jones spent years unsuccessfully trying to win back her legal rights to the image. Another case of a talented black woman exploited by the white entertainment industry.
Various videos and websites make the same claim, sometimes with different photos.

But this isn't true
Firstly, the woman in the photo at right is not Esther Jones. It's a photo of Ukranian modelΒ Model Oyla (ΠΠΎΠ΄Π΅Π»Ρ ΠΠ»Ρ), in 2008,Β dressed as Betty Boop. [1] Secondly, Esther Jones never claimed she was the original inspiration for the Betty Boop character, and never showed any interest in claiming any rights to it. Thirdly, the Betty Boop character was originally based on a French poodle not on Jones. The character first appeared as a white woman with a long poodle like face, and drooping ears, and only later developing into a normal looking woman. [2]
But there's a twist
It was not Esther Jones, but a white woman, Helen Kane, who sued Fleischer and his studio for US$250,000 for copying her visual appearance, including hair style, dress, makeup, and voice, as well as the "boop a doop" catchphrase she used while singing. [3] However, Fleischer completely denied the Betty Boop character had been based on Kane.
But there's another twist
At trial, Fleischer's lawyer claimed Kane herself had taken the phrase "boop a doop" and her sin

The other chains are more readily scalable, generally quicker and cheaper. Yes they arenβt as βbigβ but, letβs be honest, for most of our purposes that is pretty irrelevant.
Remove this if it breaks any rules, but I think it should be good. This isnβt intended to be a βGotchaβ question. Iβm genuinely curious. I donβt intend to lead anyone away from faithfulness. I think everything I talk about here should be common knowledge to everyone whoβs worked in the temple. Correct me if any of thid
I havenβt been a part of the church in over a year due to personal experiences, but over the past few months Iβve become increasingly interested in diving deeper into the church and its history and stuff.
Everyone who goes through the temple receives a name, which is supposed to be the name of their spirit or something which they went by in the premortal life and will go by for eternity as well. But everyone who gets endowed on a given day receives one the same two names, depending on their gender, unless it matches their βmortalβ name, in which case they usually get Adam or Eve.
My question is this: How do believers justify this? If everyone who gets endowed today has a spirit named Joel or Esther, wouldnβt that eliminate the possibility of agency or free will? Genuinely curious to hear your thoughts on this.
Calling her βHilaryβ is giving her actual non exotic non unique birth name an exotic spin that muddies the waters and could lead someone to think that her birth given name did have a Spanish influence from the start, which it did not. Itβs just Hillary.
Please and thank you.
Edit: Iβm all for the nickname variations, btw. Iβm not in anyway against those, I use them too. The need for proper spelling of her name only applies to when we are referring to her by her birth given name, so that it is clear that she was not given an exotic variation of the American name Hillary at birth.
I'm not referring to things like Bloody Mary but more like Charles the Mad
Like for me back in 98 when I first played I used some friendsβ names and one celebrity (donβt ask me why haha) with the exception of Glenn and Janus. Once I had the latter in my party, I changed it to reflect his true name since he was on our side. Just curious to hear everyoneβs names.
Currently I'm in the design phase for my OCβwho will be the Main Character of a Fanfiction that will be hundreds of chapters long, if not well into one thousand. The MC's current name is "Sol(e)". Originally I was debating between Sol or Sole, so I described it to some Discord buddies as Sol(e). However, I now unironically adore the name even though it was special characters in it. I wouldn't be surprised if an eccentric name like this turns off potential readers and Grammar enthusiasts. But I really like the way it looks.
What is the wackiest name you've given a character?
yuh
I personally would have probably called it something dumb like the Marvel film verse or something.

How do you think this could change the world? Would you support this? So instead of a parent naming their baby James Smith for the billionth time in history the baby is named Silky Questionable Alligator. Wouldn't that be fun?
"We'll need those ugly people who have the paper and change the shapes on it."
Jack helpfully clarifies: "Writers."
The day destined for the parturition of saint Anne and for the birth of Her, who was consecrated and sanctified to be the Mother of God, had arrived: a day most fortunate for the world. This birth happened on the eighth day of September, fully nine months having elapsed since the Conception of the soul of our most holy Queen and Lady. Saint Anne was prepared by an interior voice of the Lord, informing Her, that the hour of her parturition had come. Full of the joy of the holy Spirit at this information, she prostrated herself before the Lord and besought the assistance of his grace and his protection for a happy deliverance. Presently she felt a movement in her womb similar to that which is proper to creatures being born to the light. The most blessed child Mary was at the same time by divine providence and power ravished into a most high ecstasy. Hence Mary was born into the world without perceiving it by her senses, for their operations and faculties were held in suspense. As She had the use of her reason, She would have perceived it by her senses, if they would have been left to operate in their natural manner at that time. However, the Almighty disposed otherwise, in order that the Princess of heaven might be spared the sensible experience otherwise connected with birth.
She was born pure and stainless, beautiful and full of grace, thereby demonstrating, that She was free from the law and the tribute of sin. Although She was born substantially like other daughters of Adam, yet her birth was accompanied by such circumstances and conditions of grace, that it was the most wonderful and miraculous birth in all creation and will eternally redound to the praise of her Maker. At twelve o'clock in the night this divine Luminary issued forth, dividing the night of the ancient Law and its pristine darknesses from the new day of grace, which now was about to break into dawn. She was clothed, handled and dressed like other infants, though her soul dwelt in the Divinity; and She was treated as an infant, though She excelled all mortals and even all the angels in wisdom. Her mother did not allow Her to be touched by other hands than her own, but she herself wrapped Her in swaddling clothes: and in this Saint Anne was not hindered by her present state of childbirth; for she was free from the toils and labors, which other mothers usually endure in such circumstances.
So then saint Anne received in her arms Her, who was her Daughter, but at the same t
I'm just wondering.
So letβs say someone went to the temple and the day was βAbigailβ but their sisterβs name was Abigial. Would they be βnamedβ Abigail or would they be given Eve?
