Ernest Vincent Wright wrote a novel in 1939 called "Gadsby", which completely avoids use of the letter "E".

Sounds a bit prtntious.

My girlfriend played golf with her friend. She lost the engagement ring I bought her in the tall grass by the fairway...

It was a diamond in the rough.

Eggar Allan Poe - chicken names needed

My husband and I are trying to think of creative chicken names for our new chickens. I want to call them literary puns, and so far I have the following:

Ernest Henningway

Charles Chickens

Eggar Allan Poe

Jane Aust-Hen

Lay K Rowling

Any other great suggestions?

Postpartum counselor said my wife and I are being "the most earnest parents we can possibly be."

I nodded and said, "You know what I mean, Vern?"

My wife didn't get it, but the counselor and I couldn't stop laughing.

Dadjoked my girlfriend late last night

She's been working nonstop on her dissertation for a few weeks now and is pretty exhausted. Came home from the library at 11:30/12 last night, and as she settled down to do more work:

"Right. Time to start working in earnest."

"Who's Ernest, and why are you working in him?"

she was not impressed
