... keep reading on reddit β‘Basically the title. I donβt know-itβs a very real situation to me.Half of my family is in Kyiv, and the other half is in Kherson. Which is right above Crimea, and is the suspected place in which Russian troops will enter Ukraine since we would be their access to water. I donβt blame Elissa for getting out of there right now,nor will I shit on her for having the privilege to do so. Who wouldnβt? The pictures of Donbass and Donetsk before and after the war will show you.
Thereβs also so much talk about how Andrei is pro-Russian,and I have no idea where theyβre getting that from? Someone cited the fact that he speaks Russian, which is actually laughable. There are pockets in Western Ukraine that speak mainly Russian, and they sure donβt support Russia. Hell,I speak Russian most of the time. I understand that most Americans are going to be more unfamiliar with Ukraine-someone once asked me if it was a state once, lol. I know itβs not a country that you hear about often beyond our war with Russia. But ugh,FSU always speaks like their the authorities on everything,& shits on fundies who have a limited knowledge of the world. I just hate how they perpetuate stereotypes about Ukraine and Slavs.
Disclaimer: This is not a deep dive but I can do one if you folks are interested. Since the account is entirely in Polish I translated all the quotes myself (Polish is my first language). I hope I used the correct flair.
The account is called "zyj.pelnia.zycia" which translates to "live life to the fullest". They have a Youtube channel, a blog and some sort of NGO. Their IG bio talks about "inspiring young adults of faith to live their lives to the fullest, regardless of the circumstances". While the bio mentions "young adults" the content seems to be geared primarily towards women. A quick scroll showed me that there were hardly any photos of men, also the IG highlights include "singielki" (single women) and "zony" (wives) but nothing for single men or husbands.
There is an "about us" post introducing the woman (Magda) who runs this. She's involved in what appears to be a Catholic families organisation and she published a book about her "season of singleness", called "Chwilowo Panna" ("Temporarily Miss"). In the "about us" post Magda very specifically says that her best friend "received a dream from God" to organise a conference for women in Poland and (very specifically) invite Kristen and Bethany from Girl Defined to speak at the conference. Furthermore, Magda and her organisation are promoting the Polish translation of one of Kristen and Bethy's books: "Girl Defined: God's radical design for beauty, femininity and identity". The book's Polish publisher is Wydawnictwo Swiety Pawel, a big Catholic publishing house.
It seems to me that this "live life to the fullest" organisation are Girl Defined wannabes with a few differences (Magda runs the organisation with her friends, not her family, for example).
I'm really not interested in taking another 4:30-7pm class again so I wanted to know what the course was like. Was the course asyncronous or were you getting lectured the entire time? And was the class interesting?
