A list of puns related to "Convergent thinking"
Se is "reacting to what is" while Ne is seeing possibilities and what isn't happening. Thoughts?
I have been reading a lot (even more so in isolation than ordinarily) and came across a series of arguments about how introverted intuition, the primary cognitive function of INTJ and INFJ peeps, is an example of convergent thinking, whereas extroverted intuition, the primary cognitive function of ENTP and ENFP peeps, is an example of divergent thinking. The difference between convergent and divergent thinking seems to be the emphasis on whether you focus on bringing disparate ideas together (convergent) or exploring possibilities of individual ideas (divergent). As an INTJ, I suppose it's expected that I'm more of a convergent thinker, but I disagree. I use a ton of divergent thinking all the time, maybe more than convergent thinking, and I was wondering if others in this subreddit had thoughts on that.
Hello everyone!
I struggle with ADHD, and while my medication is great for motivation and stimulation, I find that it doesn't help with my racing thoughts. While it does help me concentrate on the things I'm already good at (working creatively) it doesn't tackle the root of my issues; which is my struggle with even the most simple, daily tasks because I cannot systematize my work process. If you don't know the difference between convergent and divergent thinking:
Convergent thinking = Logical, linear, systematic, finds solutions
Divergent thinking = Open-ended, creative, free-flowing, comes up with possible solutions
I've tried to identify my personal weaknesses, and I've found that one of the greatest issues I face lie within convergent thinking. I can make plans, start personal projects, and take on responsibilities that I cannot finish because my work process is all over the place. I also struggle with overthinking everything I do, which makes everything I do extremely time-consuming and inefficient, but I'm not sure if that's related to convergent/divergent thinking per definition.
My current Nootropics include the classics: l-theanine, omega 3, magnesium. My previous experiences with a variety of nootropics have been positive, but none have tackled my main issue. I also find that stimulants (both my medication and the nootropics I've tried) only appear to give me a boost in energy/motivation but don't necessarily improve my issues with convergent thinking.
TL;DR: Are there any Nootropics that can help with linear/logical/systematic thinking? Such as being able to sit down and actually work on one thing at the time and systematize the work process.
Convergent thinking is like the gas pedal; Divergent thinking is like the steering wheel.
Without convergent thinking your idea (drive) is going to be headed nowhere fast, but without divergent thinking your ideas (drives) are directionless.
Google definitions:

Divergent thinking - thought process or method used to generate creative ideas by exploring many possible solutions.
I love where they left Masters! Bot missionary seemed like a fresh idea. We had a lot of murder bots already.
The release date is bullshit for the next one! 2-22-22 if it's ready, why wait for a date that looks pleasing.
Yeah, i know fingers came from fin bones, but would this happen again in a alien planet?
I plan on going back in a few weeks and plan on possibly buying a new qdot card to relive the story. I did get to open up the sky, which was rad. Story was awesome I helped out Chya if that helps. I might never have entered the glass bubble room with the 5 clues. I saw someone hand an actor I was talking to give them a wooden coin and he had to excuse himself. I was talking with the "Librarian" in Ossary and someone asked them if they we looking for Love and then showed them a picture from there phone. I saw other travelers excited about a puzzle in the pizza place. Also if there is a memory storm is there a phrase to help out the actor? I had a few talk about their memories but I was on a hunt to get through the story. God I love this place!!!!!
Or is Ti more aligned with convergent thinking? Thoughts?
