A list of puns related to "Binder (material)"
I'd love to replicate the process of using a jiffy pellet / aerogarden / rapid rooter sponge thingy, but using my own medium and shapes and sizes. I like that they are cohesive units, that do not disintegrate if over watered or gently handled.
I'm looking to make a mold, and then add "x" to the coir + water to make a batter (for lack of a better term), then put the stuff in the mold, wait for it to dry/cure/etc and presto my own shapes and sizes
So.
What is x? What kind of binder is suitably "food safe"?
I am selling my used 2021 PLI binder and the corresponding paperback book containing the pre-course materials and keyword glossary. The binder contains some highlighting and underlining throughout, but all practice questions are pristine. Pre-course book contains very little highlighting.
Please DM if interested and we can discuss pricing. Thanks!
It was Saturday AM. Found in the middle of the main road back there, just between the industrial area and newer residential area.
It doesn't look like anything irreplacable in there but who knows.
If you can name the organization mentioned in there (and a couple of other identifying characteristics), I can get this back to you.
People who have printed material for PE exams, have you used only the 3-ring binders or did a spiral binding? Was wondering what the cost for spiral binding is and where (office depot, fedex, etc.?) is the best/cheapest place?
So I found the UK brand "Spectrum Outfitters" which uses recycled plastic for their products and ships using only cardboard and other such materials, without plastic. Which is great ofc.
Sadly, it seems like they are out of stock for many of their products. Do you guys know of other brands with similar policies? Slave labor and environmental damage are very important considerations to me when making a purchase. EU based would also be preferred but idk if I'm asking for too much lol
Anyway, any input/info welcome!
I (23F) am a cisgender woman but Iβm heavily involved in the cosplay scene, and do a lot of crossplay (cosplay cross dressing). My friend (21M), who weβll call X, recently came out as FtM trans. I havenβt seen him in almost two years due to COVID, but he told me and a couple of other friends during an online game. We were all supportive (most of our group is LGBTQA+) and didnβt think it was a big deal, told him we loved him, asked a couple questions like if he was going to use a different name, etc, then went back to playing.
After the game, we stayed on and chatted for a little while, and X flat out asked if anyone had a spare binder for him, since he still lives with his folks and canβt really afford a nice one. A couple of people offered their hand me downs, or offered to help him get a cheaper one. I didnβt say anything because, while I do have binders, I saved for them. They were a huge splurge each time I bought one, and while Iβm not a great cosplayer, I love it and I wouldnβt be able to do my main hobby properly without them. Not to mention X has used them before for cons, and had to end up taking the two Iβd be willing to maybe part with off, so it didnβt seem like any point in me offering them.
Later, X called me asking why I didnβt offer him any of mine. I told him that the two I might consider giving him I know are uncomfortable for him and he struggles to wear them for even a couple hours, so I didnβt want to make him uncomfortable and put him in a position where he had to say no. He asked about my most recent one that is by far my most expensive. I just kind of chuckled and said, βDude, thatβs more than my phone bill and I just got it last year. Iβve only got to wear it a handful of timesβ and his response was to go, βSo? You just make cringey cosplay TikToks anyway so what do you need it for? Youβre not trans and itβs appropriation to have a binder.β
I just hung up because it was hurtful and upset me. X texted me apologizing for insulting my crossplays but stuck by him calling it appropriation because binders βarenβt for people like meβ.
Iβm just really hurt and upset, and maybe heβs right. They arenβt to help me. I use them for fun and they just make me happy, but I also feel like thatβs enough reason to keep them? Not to mention how hard it was for me to save up to get the good ones I have now. Idk AITA?
Edit: I didnβt realize X had Reddit so he saw this and texted me to call me a racial slur so I no longer feel ANY kind of guilt wha
... keep reading on reddit β‘I first posted this last year, but since then I cleaned up my google drive a bit, and without thinking, I removed the files my post was linking to. I'm reposting it because people keep messaging me asking for a link to it.
These are just my hand written notes I digitized a year or so ago in GIMP. I haven't updated them. It's the same file I linked to in the original post, last year.
I don't have formal training. I'm just a student, learning online. So if you meet a music teacher who says I'm full of crap, believe them.
That said, if you find any errors, please let me know, and I will correct them.
I'm an afab genderfluid person (my pronouns are they/them) and I was wondering how do I look more androgynous that isn't hoodies and other stuff like that? I don't have much of a chest but it still kind of shows and I don't have/can't get any binding materials and want to look a bit more androgynous and I'm just not sure how. Any tips on changing my appearance would be amazing, thanks!
As the title says, did you find the WRE depth binder to cover enough things to solve all the afternoon problems? I am just curious and trying to plan how to study the next 2 months since I finished the course early - should I review my binder to the point I know it inside out, or should I focus on all the other resources I bought (about 5 practice books).
Thanks!
Edit: I passed the April 2021 exam!
EDIT 2:
Thank you to everybody who gave feedback! I made some corrections, and added some material to make my theory notes flow better for beginners. I added some pages explaining intervals better, corrected some enharmonic mistakes, fixed a lot of typos, made some better tables in the theory notes... outright rewrote some of the theory note pages. It's much better now.
Here is the link to the new .pdf file.
I plan to continue adding to this, and maybe I'll share an update in 5 or 6 more months. Thanks again for all the feedback!
END EDIT 2
EDIT 1: Wow, I didn't expect such a big response!
At the request of /u/hatep99, I put this all into a .pdf. Here's the link to get it in more easily printable .pdf format. The imgur link has some comments under some of the sheets that may be useful, though
END EDIT 1
I've been studying guitar online for about 9 months, and at some point maybe 6 months ago I started typing up my notes in GIMP, to print on 8.5x11" sheets of paper to fit in my guitar binder.
I decided to share them on imgur, so here's the link to them.
It's 36 pages long. What's in there?
A 7 ringed circle of 5ths, showing every mode (more on that below)
A few pages of notes on random topics in music theory. I wrote them in case I need to refresh my memory if I am forced to take a break for a long time (if I get in an accident or something crazy). The interval notation I use in those notes to discuss chord structures confuses some people, but it makes sense to me, so I use it, even if it isn't a popular way to think about intervals.
2 pages of key charts (one for major keys, one for minor keys)
Three pages that show how to play every major, minor and diminished chord
Finally, there are 24 pages of what I call key sheets, where I show how to play every chord and scale in every major and minor key. Each key is one page. I try to pick out a few keys to practice every practice session. When I practice a key I flip to the page and just tinker around with various chords in a key, trying to come up with progressions. I usually flip to the circle of 5ths diagram if I am in the mood to try some more exotic modal chord progressions. Lately, I've been playing with modes more, now that I know all the chords without needing a key sheet

So, binders cost about Β£40 including shipping from the only UK/EU based seller I've found. American companies end up costing me more bc of shipping. However, I cannot afford a binder from even the UK based company due to losing my job to COVID.
So I was thinking I'd make my own. I found a good plan for stitching one, but the materials listed were specific ones from a specific US seller, which isn't accessible to me. I just need to know what materials are used. Google says nylon and spandex, but is unclear on whether that's a mixed fabric (and if it is, doesn't say which percentages, making it easy to get the wrong thing) or if you use one on the front and one on the back, and if so, which ones go where. Maybe it is clear and I'm just not understanding? I'm autistic, so that is a possibility.
Before people start freaking out about safety (which is understandable, obviously I shouldn't do anything unsafe) I am confident enough in my sewing methods and how to measure the stuff that I believe I can make a safe binder so long as I know what materials to use. I am only doing this as it is my cheapest option, unless covid disappears overnight and I can do my job again.
I have tried a lot of the DIY methods like the sports bras, camisole, tights etc but none of them work for me.
Hi Everyone,
Hope everyone is enjoying their winter breaks. For those of you who are crazy and want to study for the patent bar over break...
I am selling my PLI Patent Bar Binder and Pre- Course Materials/Glossary. People ask me if I think PLI is worth it. PLI is the way to go in my opinion- I passed on my first attempt. Not included with this is access to the video lectures and the patware software. That being said- I have included notes in the margins of all of the things from the lecture videos that were not included in the printed materials.
So there is highlighting and the additional notes on the pages.
I'm asking $550 for the binder and Pre-course materials( I can also include a printout of the comparison chart of the post grant proceedings that put together.) I got the course for just under $2000. I could be flexible on the price. Shoot me a PM and we could work out the details. The materials are ready to be shipped immediately.
Happy to get the official store one but I don't know what the material will be like.
I need it to be thick enough to not show a chest binder, which even when it's nude color, a white shirt usually will appear more opaque over the binder and less so where it's just skin. The result being that you can see the outline of the binder due to the lightness difference.
Tldr: I'm trans and wear a chest binder. the issue is similar to a bra or undershirt showing through a white shirt, even if it's your skin color. But it's very important to me that other people won't be able to tell I'm wearing something underneath. hard to explain you're hiding tiddy.
thanks in advance!
Basically the title. I'm not having top surgery anytime soon, so in the meantime I'm looking for the best binders as a very large chested man. I'm not sure if post-op binders would be the right kind, considering my very large chest size and I assume they are designed for significantly smaller chests.
So, for anyone who used the post op binder after surgery (or even anyone who uses a post op binder regularly, if thats anyone), would you say the material or quality is better than regular binders from gc2b, underworks, etc? And if so, where can I find one of them online? I've seen pictures of post op binders and some of them look very different to a traditional binder, so I'm wondering if they may be better at flattening or masculinizing the chest.
I would also really appreciate any tips on what anyone did to maximize their flatness or masculinizing effect pre-op (binding, taping, etc.) and how much binding/taping/etc. affected their post-op situation. I have super elastic skin in the center of my chest, but not sure how much that matters as I'll already be getting DI eventually.
