A list of puns related to "Batting average (baseball)"
it's way past time. maybe send him to AA instead of AAA.
I distinctly remember a video where arin makes the clain that he had a batting average of 2 and dan explains to him how thats impossible, saying something along the lines of "that would mean youve hit more balls than have ever been thrown to you"
I'm curious to see how certain players are performing at this point in spring training compared to previous years, but with all my searching all I can find is the year average at the end of the season.
Is there a resource available where I can see what their batting average was at certain points in the season? Like how it progresses or progressed?
And if that resource is already readily available I apologize for wasting your time, I'm just having no luck finding it. Thanks
p.s. - 12 days ladies and gents.

Not the way we typically look at directors, but my friends and I were trying to find a director with the best average movie and we came up with David Fincher. Here are his films and their IMDb and Rotten Tomato scores:
Year | Title | IMDb | RT |
---|---|---|---|
1992 | Alien 3 | 6.5 | 42 |
1995 | Se7en | 8.6 | 81 |
1997 | The Game | 7.8 | 73 |
1999 | Fight Club | 8.8 | 79 |
2002 | Panic Room | 6.8 | 75 |
2007 | Zodiac | 7.7 | 89 |
2008 | The Curious Case of Benjamin Button | 7.8 | 71 |
2010 | The Social Network | 7.7 | 95 |
2011 | The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo | 7.8 | 86 |
2014 | Gone Girl | 8.1 | 87 |
His average movie is essentially at 77% which is pretty damn good.
Who are the all-time leaders in some other director/baseball stats? Strikeouts (box-office bombs)? Homeruns (pretty self explanatory)? Hits (good move, but not great)?

As stated above I already know about Khris Davis and I also know about Joey Votto not popping up to the catcher or first baseman (until yesterday) but what are some other ones yaβll know of?
Mario Mendoza was a shortstop (Pirates, Mariners, & Rangers) whose career batting average was .201 at the time his teammates coined the term 'Mendoza Line', meaning if his average at the plate were any worse he'd be a detriment to the team despite his fielding abilities. This especially applied to infielders and catchers who are important defensively, and in the 70s weren't always expected to be great hitters like they are today.
Marcus Smart is a 35% career shooter, but has been a more-than-competent defender. This year so far he's shooting 27% (worst in the league for players with at least 10 FGA/game) yet has been an elite defender with a great +/-.
So if a player's shooting % is at or below the Smart Line (35%), they'd better be playing some killer D. Marcus is well below his own line this season, yet amazingly the Celtics are better with him on the floor during this impressive win streak.
Before you ask "does he have any experience playing baseball?", remember - we are talking about the average man. So assume he'd have an amount of baseball experience equal to that of the average North American man.
He would be allowed to get practice in during the season and have the chance to improve as the season went along.
My guess: .004 (1 successful hit every 250 at-bats)
