A list of puns related to "Apple (symbolism)"
since death note is full of some kind symbolism, i was wondering if shinigamiβs love towards apples has any deeper meaning. from what i know, apples have a biblical waning as a symbol of sin, but iβm not sure if it applies to death note vibe so iβm curious what yall guys think
Hello, all! Following Mimisbrunnr.info's recent translation of Nigon Wyrta Galdor (the so-called Nine Herbs Charm), we've put together an entry on the symbol of the apple among the ancient Germanic peoples. Apples appear in ancient Germanic iconography very early on, and are generally associated with sex, death, and reproduction in the ancient Germanic corpus. The entry also contains some discussion of the apple in the broader record, including Proto-Indo-European culture and non-Indo-European language-speaking peoples.
The entry feature wallpaper quality illustrations by Rim Bitik for the project, including a new depiction of the goddess IΓ°unn.
As always, we welcome comments, suggestions, and recommendations. Enjoy!
I was wondering if Kang eating an apple was just a meaningless little quirk, but then it hit me all the symbolism that's going on in this episode.
So at the beginning of time there was Adam and Eve, Eve was basically cloned from Adam's rib, so essentially they're alternate versions of the same person. God offers them life in absolute paradise, just taking care of the world, as long as they're good and don't eat the forbidden fruit.
Adam goes along with it, but Eve betrays him and God by giving into temptation and taking a bite, thus getting herself and her descendents in a whole heap of trouble, whilst also encompassing the idea of Free Will. For this they are cast out of the Garden of Eden.
Here, at the end of time, Loki (Adam) and Sylvie (Eve), two versions of the same person, go to meet Kang (God, he creates, controls and sees all.).
Immediately they're offered a life in paradise, whatever perfect timeline they desire. Even offered the keys to the TVA, taking care of the Universe and keeping it safe and balanced. As long as they don't kill Kang, which is what Sylvie really wants.
Loki's unsure and wants to do the right thing, Sylvie complains that Kang is taking away people's Free Will. She gives into temptation and kills Kang, takes the proverbial bite of the forbidden fruit, and lands herself and everyone else in a whole heap of trouble. Loki is literally cast from the room.
As a nice touch, just before she kills Kang, you see the apple sitting there on the desk, now fully eaten, symbolising the decision she's about to make.
The only thing missing is the snake that tempts her, but then again, she is the snake. Lokis are deeply connected with snakes in norse mythology, plus in the previous episode a Loki variant says they prefer snakes and indeed Thor tells that funny story in Ragnorok about Loki pretending he's a snake etc, so that's part of their identity in a way.
Anyway, just something I noticed and it gave me an even higher appreciation of this episode, a great finale :)
Edit: I should say Eve "Encompassed" the idea of Free Will, rather "created" it!
Edit 2: Btw, I'm not saying this actually IS the event from the Bible playing out, just that it might've been made to resemble it as it'd bring things round full circle quite nicely, Adam and Eve at the Beginning of Time, Loki and Sylvie at the End of Time with a similar event, similar themes.
Hi all, I bought an Apple Watch this week. Charged it like normal twice, now when I put it on the charger all I get is a red charging symbol and the time besides it in green. Am I doing something wrong?
DISCLAIMER: This is a fun Speculative Ride of a (3) Part Post. Take it all with a Moon-sized Grain of Salt. Do not believe anything I'm posting here. Simply follow along, and I guarantee you that, I will take your mind to some very interesting perspectives. I'm attempting to dissect John Ramirez's Presentation here. I'll be as brief as I can, but I welcome to the discussion all minds interested in the UFO Phenomenon. Skeptics and Believers alike, all are welcome; just be civil to one another.

^That's John Ramirez Presentation. Do yourself a favor, watch it if you haven't.
In the previous post, we learned that within the Intelligence Community of the USA. They use βExclusive Lingoβ unique to this community. It is safe to assume then, based on John Ramirezβs presentation. That people who are the the βINβ about UFOs may use cryptic names to refer to whatever they know about the Phenomenon. Perhaps this βHidden Knowledgeβ is fractured same as the Intelligence Apparatus in the USA, is segmented into different agencies. Forming a larger entity.
Let's see βReptiles," (Snake) "Atlantis," (Water Cataclysm), "Fallen Angels" (Falling from the Grace of God). The Old Testament comes to mind. And if you know your mythos. You probably know who I'm referring to. That's right, the big old baddie: Lucifer is his name-O.
The name Lucifer means "Morning Star" / "Light Bringer." Lucifer has a whole bunch of Hidden Meanings associated with him. So much in fact, that any of us could get lost for hours. We could even spend days debating the symbolism here. But there are some key elements which are parallel to other myths from ancient times. For instance, did you know that Lucifer has counterparts or equivalents in other ancient cultures?
Check the Wikipedia entry. It's very tantalizing.
For instance, the Lucifer myth has parallels with the Greek myth of Prometheus. Both Lucifer and Prometheus used trickery to

To briefly explain what will be an extremely lengthy post, alchemy appears to be a major theme in Elden Ring. Many other games and fantasy works borrow from the rich concepts and symbolism of alchemy and the magnum opus (the Great Work), but the influences in Elden Ring are so pervasive that the inhabitants of the world literally have alchemy references coming out of their asses (i.e., the Gold-Tinged Excrement item). There is a lot to examine, so Iβll cover the major points up front.
If you are of the opinion that looking too hard for clues ahead of time can spoil your enjoyment later, viewing any of the posted content is not recommended. If you are interested in deep analysis that doesnβt know when to stop, read on. This post will bring in outside resources to compare with publicly available information. No leaks will be discussed or shown, with the exception of the widely circulated early concept art of the full map (which is too interesting to pass up).
Update: I have taken a closer look at Elden Rin

Hey everyone, just a CP 2077 fan here showing appreciation for two really great written characters like Takemura and Johnny. If you'd like the full game lore and my breakdown of these two characters rather than reading this fully, it's here https://youtu.be/71IeS6DoItg
Please leave any constructive criticism, or hate if you feel like it lol. As I can improve my content in general if you'd like :).
That being said. Many characters love Takemura but don't realise how sad his character is, and the meaning behind some of the writing surrounding his overall character. Poor dude has all sorts of trauma, as well as grooming and stock holm syndrome from Arasaka. Whilst Johnny is also similar but an opposite as well, someone who broke 'the corporation chain' encasing him but coped through bad habits like being repulsive, drugs, alcohol, being abusive.
Some players, like Johnny, because we see him as an anti-hero and most anti-heroes we relate to due to their internal conflict and overall struggle. Although what I fundamentally believe separates an anti-hero from a straight-up villain is 'Humanity' throughout the game Johnny as well as (Takemura)
Johnny puts up an 'As*hole' facade, but as you progress you see the real side to them, filled with anger, regret, and bitterness to the very government that groomed and failed him despite him serving, and in the end used him as a commodity for a 'corrupt war', as well as other people.
So what are the similarities as well as some differences between Johnny and Takemura (Also known as the Dog and Cat)
Both were groomed at a young age and enlisted in their retrospective military For Johnny the NUSA, for Takemura, Arasaka. One made it out of the grooming (Johnny), whilst the other did unintentionally but succumbed to it once again (Takemura)
Both are highly emotional, with Johnny having a temper, being on edge, and impulsive. For Takemura, emotional and impulsive (βI can be impulsiveβ when meeting Anders Helman, and the coffee scene when Tom speaks about Hanako rudely.)
They both have good sides to them. This is evident in Johnnyβs game-long character development. Where he has a softer side to him like becoming friends with V, rekindling his friendship with his older friends, and his affection towards βCatsβ.
Additionally, Johnny changes his ways in the temperance ending. As for Takemura, he generally starts to care for V, you see cute traits surrounding him like him being a foodie,

The further humanization of the tuskens, the dialogue pointing to their ancestral history, the resistance against off-worlders and even the metaphors to MΔori culture through Temueraβs influence are all incredible.
Sci fi has always been used as a vehicle to provoke thought about our world through the lens of something mystical and otherworldly, and the show is doing a great job combining social critique with entertainment, while keeping true to the Star Wars we love. Excited for whatβs to come with the show.

Following up on our recent translation of the Old English Nigon Wyrta Galdor (the so-called "Nine Herbs Charm") over at Mimisbrunnr.info, we've put together a Kvasir Symbol Database entry on the topic of the apple and apple tree among the North Germanic peoples, the Old English, and the Continental Germanic peoples.
It's an interesting topicβthe apple appears to be strongly associated with sex, death, and reproduction in the recordβand it's also rarely noted that we see Odin associated with providing the apple as a remedy in both the Nigon Wyrta Galdor and in VΓΆlsunga saga, and of course apples have a long history of goddess iconography among the ancient Germanic peoples, as evidenced in the continental Germanic Mothers and the North Germanic goddess IΓ°unn.
The entry features wallpaper-quality illustrations by Rim Bitik for the project, including a new depiction of the goddess IΓ°unn.
As always, all comments, suggestions, or recommendations are welcome either here or via message β especially for anything we might have missed from the archaeological record, which was the most difficult part of working on this entry. Enjoy!
