SOLVED!!!! BEHIND THE BASTARDS
I know I have listened to an episode about this crazy baby farmer- but I can't remember what show it was. Im not a parcast fan, and I feel like it was a more casual format. And none of the answers on Listen Notes is ringing a bell.... HALP! :)
Sheβs a real trip.... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amelia_Dyer
Considered to be one of the most prolific serial killers in history, Amelia Dyer was a 19th century baby farmer- a woman who adopted unwanted infants under the auspices of caring for them in place of their actual parents. A shady profession at the time, Amelia is believed to have possibly murdered more than 400 infants over a 30-year period β a terrible feat that was only stopped when her lust for the money she was supposed to use on her tiny victims overcame her caution.
Converted for your late 19th-century or possibly early 20th century Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition games, here are the possible stats for this heinous villain β interspersed with some Lovecraftian connection.

In the summer of 1900, a mother scolded her errant daughter. "If you don't behave," she threatened the little girl, "I'll send you to live with Amelia Dyer."
The little girl gasped; she knew what that meant. Everyone knew. If you went to stay with Amelia Dyer, it meant that you never came back. Amelia Dyer had been hanged in 1896 for one murder, but she was responsible for many more. A peculiarity of English law at the time meant that a suspected murderer was tried for one murder only, even if there was evidence of more. This meant that if the suspect was acquitted, then they could be charged with the next, and so on, avoiding the double jeopardy law. But there would be no acquittal for Amelia Dyer; her guilt was all too obvious.
Amelia Dyer first trained as a nurse and midwife, but by the 1860s, had gotten into the lucrative practice of baby farming. In Victorian England, a woman who had a baby out of wedlock was regarded as a fallen woman and treated with disdain. In 1843, a law was passed making it so that the fathers of these illegitimate children were not obliged to support them, leaving the mothers with few options. A baby farmer would take such a child in for a small fee, promising to foster the child or place it with a family. Often, the mothers never returned, so children were often abused and mistreated. Amelia took it one step further.
At first, she would starve the children to death, drugging them with opium so that they would not make a sound as they died from neglect. Amelia would then consult a doctor, get a death certificate and pocket the fee from the child's mother. She was arrested after one doctor became suspicious about the number of children in Amelia's care who died, but she was only charged with neglect and given six months in prison. When she got out, she went straight back into baby farming, but with one difference. This time, in order to take away the risk of interfering doctors, Amelia murdered the children herself, usually by strangling the children with tape, and then disposing of the bodies in the Thames. She also moved around a lot, and affected many aliases to escape detection.
Amelia was eventually linked to the murder of a small boy who's body was found in the river with white tape around his neck. The body was wrapped in paper, with "Mrs Thomas" and an address on it. It didn't take the police long to track down Amelia, even under her alias, and she was charged with the child's murder. The Thames was dragged, and many

Amelia Dyer doesn't appear on this list.
Monstrous villainesses who repeatedly adopted children, only to kill them.
The real-life killer here is actually WORSE than the fictional supernatural monster, as the latter actually needs children's life-force to survive, while the former literally murdered infants for profit as her main source of income.
β¦Yeah, this is probably the darkest matchup I've ever posted here.
